i have a HUGE fetish for psychium bro rn ngl. it's real good for nuking traditional switch-ins to physdef bro like vileplume and other grass-types. ive also been digging scarf helio + offensive garb lately, with scarf helio being a still unconventional pick in some regards and offensive garb tapping xatu. i run 3 attks garb because frankly i hate tspikes in a vileplume+garb-heavy meta lol, and the ability to doink every rocker is fun. banded decidueye because its a pretty neat set that chips away at incin and other switch-ins more effectively than say, scarf, and doesnt take up a turn setting up to be annoying. diancie as rocker because heck incin. cryo because spin and heck vani, neck frill, and neckboy.

Standard eggy volturn. Helio brings in broken specs eggy, Rhydon is rocks + fire resist + main flying resist. Golbat is fighting resist, the speed lets me outrun Magmortar which is always scary to play, taunt makes it a pain for some teams and stops alot of annoying hazard setters, U-turn lets me keep momentum which is what this team is about. Passimian is passimian, and Steelvally is Defogger + Ice cream/Aboma switch-in and a Comfey answer if bat doesn't work out ig, I usually go parting shot but I hated losing momentum vs Xatu on this team.

I made a rain team. Thunder + rain boosted Surf is cool for Heliolisk. Mr. Mime switches into Guzzlord, has soundproof so opposing Heliolisk don't destroy the team, sets rain, and has Healing Wish support. Qwilfish can OHKO defensive Slowbro with +2 Acid Downpour if Stealth Rock and 1 layer of Spikes are up.

Well, finally hit 500 posts lol. It's interesting because I have been around Smogon for like, 6(?) years now, and I had just never gotten into the forum aspect of it. Ngl, I think I just didn't know there was a forum... :jej:
A lot of y'all have made this experience great. I didn't know that I would get as into the community aspect of this as I have, but I definitely know that I made the right decision. Here's a list of people that particularly stood out (if you're not on the list, dw, I still enjoy you (or I don't; you'll know which one it is though :^])):
A Cake Wearing A Hat: When I came back to Pokemon in like, mid-2017 or so, you were the first guy I had any real notable run-in with. I had been out of play since early SuMo at that point (so not a terribly long break, but enough of one to where I had noticeable rust lol), and I didn't really have too much of a clue what was going on. I decided to jump into UU because it has always held a spot close to home, and you were incredibly willing to help me with teambuilding, general metagame knowledge, etc. Even after I sort of just dropped UU (woops lol), you still managed to find yourself in a tutoring spot with me, helping me out massively with my GP gains. Thank you, Cake, very cool!
kay: Literally the reason I am where I am with NU. You made it really easy to get into the community through our B101 sessions, and in general have always been a helping hand whenever I needed one. I am :angery: though about you resigning as staff :rage:, so Idk how to feel entirely. I hope your life is treating you well though, man; thanks for everything you've done.
quziel: Great source of general conversation and you QC check essentially everything alongside me, which is nice. Plus it means my stuff gets checks too :^) Thanks for being you, my dude.

Round 20: ORAS Week!
Want to try something new with this competition for it's 20th round! Instead of the standard Sun and Moon teams, this round will be for ORAS ONLY! That means you will have to use the old ORAS banlist. I decided to use Aggron for this because I think it is a bit underrated in that format, and I built a team around it and had a lot of fun using it. Therefore, I'm hoping that people will do the same, and perhaps this will make some old faces show :).
Deadline is 12 / 14 / 18

IT'S FINK DUMBASS
So this week has been a total fluke clearly, but there hasn't been a round that hasn't had some sort of winner yet so I'm posting my own team! This is the team that gave me the idea for this week, I built it a while back because I knew not many people like to use Aggron in ORAS so I thought it would be an interesting team to try out. I recognize now that there's not really any sort of good type balance, but I think it gets the job done. Perhaps Lanturn could be Assault Vest, but idk to be honest. I almost beat Eternally with this when I built it, so it's probably at least decent. Thank you guys for voicing your opinion on this week though, this is definitely something I'll avoid in the future!
