Hi guys. I'm Starmaster and I'm relatively new on Smogon, but I've been on PS since around August 2012. I saw the new UU Beta tier and it was filled with mons that should be OU at the least and decided to give it a try. I made a relatively simple team and gave it a go and to my surprise, it managed to peak at #20 on the ladder. So here's the team and proof of the peak.

th

Manaphy @ Leftovers
Ability: Hydration
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Tail Glow
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Energy Ball

So here is the set up sweeper of the team. I run max speed as it is crucial to be able to the Adamant Mega Medichams that seem to be everywhere these days. Tail Glow boosts Manaphy's Special Attack to horrifying levels. It also finds several opportunities to set up against common pokemon like Umbreon or Alomomola. The coverage is fairly simple as it hits every relevant threat in the tier for big damage. When in doubt, click Surf and watch things die. Also this is a relatively slow tier and Manaphy works great as a midgame or late game sweeper although Kyurem usually cleans up lategame.

th

Kyurem-Black @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Teravolt
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd
Naive Nature
- Fusion Bolt
- Ice Beam
- Outrage
- Iron Head

Next up on the team is the fearsome Kyurem-Black which really needs to get the hell out of UU along with Manaphy. The scarf lets me revenge kill so many threats in the metagame and is invaluable to the team. Once again, max speed to outspeed every threat I need to. Fusion Bolt nails bulky waters and flying types like the common Tornadus-T. Ice Beam is just for the great coverage it has with Fusion Bolt and the ability to hit grass type physical sponges like Chesnaught. Outrage is rather self explanatory as it hits like a truck from 170 Base Attack and OHKO's so many things. Iron Head is to murder common fairy switch ins like Mega Gardevoir or Florges. This guy usually picks up the pieces late game with Outrage spam.

th

Thundurus-Therian @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Focus Blast
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Flash Cannon

This set is easily the most replacable on the team. I really hate the inability to switch moves because good switch ins are so common and I lose momentum a lot. I would really appreciate help on this set. Perhaps a NP/Agility set would work. I'm really not sure, and any help is appreciated. Well onto the set itself. Focus Blast beats a weakened Kyurem-B's and the scarf helps beat ones that think they can outspeed me with their own scarf. Thunderbolt and HP Ice are rather self explanatory as they have good coverage. Flash Cannon helps me brute force my way past annoying Fairies. Again, I hate being locked into moves and would appreciate help here.

th

Deoxys-Speed @ Life Orb
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 20 Atk / 252 SAtk / 236 Spd
Naive Nature
- Ice Beam
- Psycho Boost
- Superpower
- Fire Punch

Offensive Deoxys-Speed is the star of the team and it deals with an amazing amount of threats. He is usually my leads and 60% of the time is able to OHKO the opposing lead who is expecting hazards. For example, people send in Bisharp to OHKO me with Knock Off, but die to my Superpower and I gain an early 6-5 advantage that can be crucial later on. Removing Bisharp also helps Doublade a lot. Ice Beam again has awesome coverage and Psycho Boost just hits like a truck and OHKOs several important pokemon. Superpower helps me beat Bisharp that lead against me, weakened Kyurem-B, and Magnezone. Fire Punch is mainly for pesky Escavalier which are a decent threat to my team otherwise.

th

Heracross (M) @ Heracronite
Ability: Moxie
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Close Combat
- Rock Blast
- Pin Missile
- Bullet Seed

Bulky Mega Heracross is one of the biggest threats in UU, and is my main answer to Quagsire and other bulky Waters. Rock Blast helps me OHKO any flying types that want to switch in to Pin Missile or Close Combat. Pin Missile is an awesome base 125 power STAB move that murders tons of pokemon in the tier. Close Combat also hits like a truck against many Pokemon as teams are starting to lose fighting resists as the type just is not so great this generation. It 2HKOs important Pokemon like Metagross and Pin Missile can muscle past Slowbro who is a great pain to deal with for my team.

th

Doublade (M) @ Eviolite
Ability: No Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Brave Nature
IVs: 0 Spd
- Shadow Sneak
- Gyro Ball
- Sacred Sword
- Swords Dance

Last but not least is Doublade who is an absolute monster. His Gyro Ball OHKOs Kyurem-B at max health without a Swords Dance. Almost nothing in the tier wants to take a +2 Gyro Ball. Also this things defense is monstrous. It only takes 66% from Bisharp's Knock Off and can OHKO back with Sacred Sword. It only takes 33% from Haxorus's EQ and can even set up on it and OHKO with Gyro Ball. All in this thing is an absolute monster and honestly needs to be used more. Also, Doublade takes a maximum of 10% from any of Mega Heracross's attacks making it complete set up fodder to exploit. This guy really pulls his weight for the team with incredible physical bulk and attack.

So that's the team. Please rate it and I have an importable below for people who want to steal it. But if you do steal it, PLEASE leave a rate. I really want help with Thundurus.

Thanks! ~Starmaster

Kyurem-B should be banned immediatly. I'm been playing this team a lot and he basically amounts to a button that says 'kill everything.'

Deoxys-s should also probably be banned, he absolutely destroys. Doublade is a really strong pokemon and his bulk is absolutely fantastic. M-Heracross helps deal with a lot of this team's weaknesses. Manaphy is rarely that useful but every so often she shines in a big way.

The only pokemon which feels like it doesn't bring much to the table is Thundurus-T, it just doesn't hit hard enough. Maybe you should swap out the scarf for specs? I'm not entirely sure what's viable in UU yet.

I dont have time to analyse and comment on the whole team now (sorry) but I'm just going to say that you should change or replace thundurus-t. At least remove the scarf; you already have scarf kyurem-b and deoxys-s as revenge killers. The best set for thundurus is probably nasty plot (over flash cannon) with life orb.
Either that or repace thundurus-t. Bisharp, for example is very good and seems to fit your team; or perhaps rotom-h (specs or defensive) if you want an electric-type.

I really like this team from a first impression, however, I would definitely change Kyurem-B to a Choice Band, and keep Thundurus-T as your scarfer as you have a good enough offensive presence that the opponent usually will not be able to set up many hazards if played well, and Doublade will block and (rare) spinner. I would say to use U-turn over Flash Cannon on Thundurus though. Flash Cannon is pointless on it, as notmmany viable fairies (you lose to Florges anyway) are around. I would change this to U-turn so you are able to lure and do massive damage to Celebi, among others. Volt Switch may seem better, but is a bit redundant and gives coverage against the aforemenioned Celebi. Hasty or Naive is your choice.

With regenarator Tornadus doesn't mind SR much unlike Thundurus, and it has immediate power and speed allowing it to sweep mid game without the stress of predictions and wasting a turn and move slot to set up. Thundurus is more of a late game sweeper who requires it's checks counters to be heavily damaged or gone. Another set up user would also be redundant as you already have Doublade. Tornadus also provides u-turn which will help greatly in getting your Doublade in to set up, or just an appropiate pokemon for the situation, and can use it to it's full advantage to simply u-turn out when a check and counter comes in to just restart a sweep anytime. Thundurus would have to switch in and waste another turn to set up.

I barely lost against you today because of double scarfer. In my opinion Thundurus NEEDS volt switch over flash cannon which is useless anyway.
You could also try wacan berry over lefties on manaphy to reduce the number of Pokémon who can revenge you which mostly use electric type attacks and proloungue your sweep

First off, i'd like to congratulate you on the peak, this ladder is so volatile atm that being able to string consistent wins together can be quite difficult but moving onto the team.

Looking at it, you have a very large weakness to fire seeing as your only thing to even take it is Manaphy who, as your win condition, shouldn't be coming in to sponge hits. The biggest threat i see to your team is Entei, with that 50% chance to burn with sacred fire, you literally have nothing reliable to be switching into sacred fire + extremespeed. I could offer suggestions but i think that your team is just relying on sacking a mon and trying to revenge it due to it being HO. What i can suggest though is forgoing a move on your Deoxys-Speed and using Stealth Rock as this at least forces Entei to take damage upon entry and stop it being able to switch in freely.

As for move changes, i myself prefer to have Shadow Claw on my Doublade since Sacred Sword only really hits Bisharp and you have a bulky Heracross so that mon is not even close to a problem. I would also have to agree with other people in changing Flash Cannon to U-Turn as momentum > hitting fairies for fairly mediocre damage anyway. Also when locked into flash cannon, the big threat of the team, Entei is allowed to come in for free and deal significant damage to anything in your team.Never mind, i just saw the change to Tornadus, which is a good change.

Your team also very much dislikes weather, in particular, Kingdra can singlehandedly come through your entire team once rain is set up and with any follow up swift swimmers, your chance of victory is extremely low (i'd interested to hear your thoughts on how to deal with it). The best option you have in dealing with this is running Celebi over possibly the Tornadus that you just added.

tl;dr

Entei is scurry

Deoxys-Speed: Fire Punch -> Stealth Rock

Doublade: Sacred Sword -> Shadow Claw

Rain is a bitch :[

Tornadus -> Celebi

Celebi @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 248 HP / 244 SDef / 16 Spd
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Thunder Wave
- Recover
- Giga Drain
- Baton Pass

Pretty well max Special bulk with odd HP cause SR and 16 speed allows you to outpace Adamant max speed bisharp by 1 point and baton pass out to your Mega Heracross to force out.

But that is all i have for you, once again, congratulations on the peak and making a UU team with 3 mons that were once Ubers :P

ah Calloflochie long time no see bud. But yeah when dealing with bitches like Kingdra I rely on weakening it slowly and smart switches. I try to force it draco meteor on Kyurem and switch into Manaphy which it does not much damage to at -2. Celebi is interesting and I'll give it a run. Entei on the other hand I usually sac whatever will be least useful and revenge kill with Kyurem.

I thought i recognised your name ahaha. Let me just quickly throw up some calcs of kingdra with say stealth rocks up. I'll do the whole team for the sake of the exercise.
252+ SpA Life Orb Kingdra Dragon Pulse vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Kyurem-W: 320-377 (81.8 - 96.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock
252+ SpA Life Orb Kingdra Hydro Pump vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Tornadus-T in Rain: 339-399 (113.3 - 133.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ SpA Life Orb Kingdra Hydro Pump vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Mega Heracross in Rain: 298-351 (81.8 - 96.4%) -- 56.3% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock
252+ SpA Life Orb Kingdra Hydro Pump vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Eviolite Doublade in Rain: 364-429 (113 - 133.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ SpA Life Orb Kingdra Hydro Pump vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Deoxys-S in Rain: 337-398 (110.8 - 130.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ SpA Life Orb Kingdra Dragon Pulse vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Manaphy: 160-188 (46.9 - 55.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
and Manaphy can only reply with:
252 SpA Manaphy Ice Beam vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Kingdra: 85-101 (29.2 - 34.7%) -- 6.2% chance to 3HKO

But if Celebi,
252+ SpA Life Orb Kingdra Draco Meteor vs. 248 HP / 244+ SpD Celebi: 177-211 (43.9 - 52.3%) -- 73.4% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
You can T-wave, recover baton pass etc etc.

Also i strongly suggest rocks on Deoxys-Speed because your 'revenge' tactic with Kyurem-B falls flat on it's face without SR
252 Atk Teravolt Kyurem-B Outrage vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Entei: 274-324 (73.6 - 87%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

And Entei can come back with Sacred fire + E speed

252+ Atk Flame Plate Entei Sacred Fire vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Kyurem-B: 198-234 (50.5 - 59.6%) -- 82.4% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ Atk Entei Extreme Speed vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Kyurem-B: 88-104 (22.4 - 26.5%) -- possible 5HKO after Leftovers recovery

Which has a strongly likelihood to OHKO you back if Kyurem-B has taken SR damage coming in.

We were trivia mods together before you disappeared. Those were the good old days. I have tested Celebi and it works well. However, I really miss a reliable ground immunity as EQ is THE most common coverage move in the game. Also my Deoxys-S runs no bulk whatsoever so it actually gets much more rekt than the calc you posted :P

Good ol' Trivia ahaha.

This is very worst scenario possible but
252+ Atk Choice Band Huge Power Diggersby Earthquake vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Celebi: 158-186 (39.2 - 46.1%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
Celebi can deal with the ground STAB if need be.

This will be my last comment, i don't need to clutter your RMT anymore but yeah, SR on deo, celebi and i think your team will be looking very strong.

I've been playing with your team all day. Then with the announcement of the manaphy and kyurem bannings I switched Kyurem out for Haxorus and Manaphy out for Keldeo. Then ironically I fought your original team played by someone else in the 1500~ area. Here's the replay. My changes actually came out on top probably because I understand how the team works pretty well. Its done me well.

EDIT: Forgot I had removed Thunderus for Tornadus already before even play testing thanks to the feedback I read.
