UU Double Dragon Team

So i've grown tired of using rain and sandstorm in OU, and have been battling in UU for a while now. This team has actually been doing really well so far, but i'm sure there's things that can be improved upon. The team itself is based around getting kingdra to pull off a sweep, although I don't always stick to that plan since kingdra has proved to be very versatile and has been able to come out earlier than late game on many occasions.

Heracross (Penetrator) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Guts
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe/ 4 HP
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SpAtk)
- Close Combat
- Megahorn
- Stone Edge
- Knock Off

This thing is very helpful with breaking down enemy walls. Its also a great status absorber for when I predict the Will-O-Wisp or Toxic from an enemy wall. With a guts boost it can OHKO chansey with close combat, and if I knock off it's eviolite my flygon can 2HKO chansey with outrage. He also makes a superb revenge killer when I need to take care of fast threats. I actually used to run pursuit in the 4th slot but I switched it to knock off since dusclops annoyed the hell out of me and pursuit didn't do anything to bulky mew anyways.

Slowbro (Bro) @ Leftovers
Trait: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP/ 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Scald
- Slack Off
- Toxic
- Fire Blast

I love this thing in UU. Its one of the two defensive pokemon on my team along with chansey, who it has great synergy with (being able to take fighting moves like a champ). I run toxic over psychic since id much rather be able to hurt bulky waters such as gastrodon or milotic and I never found myself using psychic before anyways. Fire Blast is a great move when you predict correctly. Its netted me OHKOs against tangrowth and heracross before.

Chansey (Troll) @ Eviolite
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Softboiled
- Stealth Rocks
- Seismic Toss
- Aromatherapy

I really like this thing because it just wont die and it has great utility. I love aromatherapy because its great for helping out slowbro if it gets toxic poisoned and it allows me to be more reckless when using flygon to break down enemy walls. It takes special attacks like a champ, and a lot of physical ones as well.

Nidoking (Terrax) @ Life Orb
Trait: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 Spe / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Timid nature (+Spe, -Atk)
- Ice Beam
- Thunderbolt
- Earth Power
- Flamethrower

With nice prediction skills, it's possible decimate other teams with this thing. It is a monster through and through. As long as I predict correctly i'm pretty much guaranteed to kill something on the other team with it. It tends to lure in things like chansey and dusclops, so sometimes ill switch to get heracross to take the will o wisp if it's a dusclops or a chansey with toxic. Speaking of heracross, it makes for an excellent check to enemy heracross. All in all I feel like it fits into my team well and does a lot of good things for it.

Flygon (Powerhouse) @ Choice Band
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 Spe / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SpAtk)
- Outrage
- U-turn
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake

I'm really not a fan of scarf flygon since scarf heracross hits things harder anyways, but i'm a HUGE fan of banded flygon. This thing has a chance to 2HKO slowbro with outrage after stealth rock damage, and if the enemy steel pokemon are gone and i've dealt with eviolite pokemon properly, I can easily just lock myself into outrage and wreak havoc on the enemy team. Many people don't expect it to be banded so they get pretty surprised when it KOs things so easily. It does a great job of softening up the enemy team and can deal with the few steel types in the tier pretty well.

Kingdra (Seabiscuit) @ Leftovers
Trait: Swift Swim
EVs: 252 Spe / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Adamant nature (+Atk, -Spe)
- Outrage
- Waterfall
- Substitute
- Dragon Dance

The pokemon this team was built for. I usually do 1 of 2 things with this guy. I either bring him in on set up fodder (such as a choiced poke locked into a fire or water move), or i bring him in at the end of the match when any and all counters are dealt with. I rarely have a match where this thing doesnt KO at least 2 pokemon on the opposing team and i've swept entire teams with it before as well. It's super easy to set up thanks to it's decent bulk and great typing. It can take pretty much any choice scarf or priority attack in the tier and then start sweeping their team once it OHKOs said pokemon lol.

So theres my team. I forgot to mention one pokemon I had an issue with, which was an opposing banded flygon. In that situation if my heracross is dead I have to either hope its adamant like mine and that I win the speed tie, or stall out it's outrage by foddering something if slowbro is low on health and hope for the confusion hax so I can KO it with my kingdra. Because of this i've considered changing my flygon to jolly, but i'm still unsure since I don't know how much the drop in power will affect its ability to KO things.

Hey, cool team. I have a couple of suggestions.

You might have problems against scarfed dragons such as Flygon so I recommend using LO Mamoswine over Nidoking. Mamoswine let's you effectively revenge kill dragons so your own won't have to compete with them. Also, his priority would benifit you team aswell since you don't have any. Max spd/atk with a moveset of Ice Shard, Icicle Crash, EQ and Stone Edge shoud be fine.

I'd also like to recommend using Cresselia over Slowbro. Cresselia can take on CB Flygon if you predict it right and can OHKO it with Ice Beam. Max HP/Def with a moveset of Ice Beam, Pyshock, Rest and Relfect should be fine. You can afford to run Rest since you have cleric support. Another option on Cress is Healing Wish. Your Flygon has no way of recovery and Healing wish gives Flygon another round of killing.

Lastly I recommend using Scarf Rotom-H over you Heracross. If you decide you use my changes you'd be lacking an Ice resist so Rotom would patch that up. Something great Rotom could do for you team is clearing out steel-types with it's Fire STAB. Rotom killing steels means you can spam Outrages with out any worries. Max Spd/SAtk with a moveset of Overheat, Volt Switch, HP Ice and Trick shoud be fine. Trick let's you break down stall which you might have problems with.

gl! Sorry for trying to change your team to much. I think it has a lot of potential. Also you avatar is the best thing I've seen in my life.

Those are some good suggestions. The only thing i would be worried about with switching nidoking for mamo is that mamo can be hard to switch in at times, but it still wrecks. If I were to switch nidoking for mamo though I would definitely take your advice and switch heracross for rotom H since I would need another way to check heracross with nidoking gone.

I think i'm going to test out the changes you suggested tonight though as they seem like they could work out really well.

Any and all suggestions for this team are still welcome and would be appreciated!

Also thanks for the avatar compliment XD. I love that picture.

im just curious but most people wouldn't leave their steels in on a fire type so wouldn't running something like eviolite magneton with hidden power fire + magnet pull be a better option for getting rid of steels. It still resists ice but it is a lot better at finishing the job of getting rid of steel types. I think the average set is

Magneton:
move 1: Substitute
move 2: Flash Cannon
move 3: Hidden Power Fire
move 4: Charge Beam
item: Eviolite
ability: Magnet Pull
nature: Timid
evs: 36 HP / 252 SpA / 220 Spe

thats just my opinion though

Ive considered running a magneton but steels in UU seem to be very rare and Rotom H would be more useful in nearly every other situation.

so i tried using the mamoswine and rotom H, but now my team is walled even harder by slowbro and chansey, which are super common. im thinking the only good direction for this team to go into is the heavy offensive one.

You may want to run another Toxic user on your team if your having trouble with walls like Slowbro, as it can force a switch. Chansey may still be a problem, as Aromatherapy is so common, but even so, worth considering
