Project UU Matchmaking v4 - Week 29: - Special Salamence! (Submissions!)

Reserving diancie
Diancie @ Leftovers
Sassy Nature
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 252 HP / 100 Def / 156 SpD
- Diamond Storm
- Moonblast
- Stealth Rock
- Mystical Fire

Diancie is a great defensive partner for buzzwole. It defensively answers everything that can threaten buzzwole like the thundurus forms, salamence, and both moltres. Furthermore, stealth rock support helps buzzwole break through defensive teams easier.

Raikou @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Scald
- Calm Mind
- Substitute

Calm Mind Raikou is a great partner for Choice Band Buzzwole. Raikou appreciates Buzzwole's ability to check Ground and Grass types that Raikou has issues with, either offensively or defensively. Buzzwole also can threaten Raikou's main stops, AV Tangrowth and Chansey. In return, Raikou can threaten flying types, shakier fighting resists such as Azelf or Primarina, as well as bulky waters that could stomach a hit from Buzzwole in some scenarios, such as Milotic.

Banned deucer.
:Primarina:Choice Specs Primarina by Aqua∞Ring

I think the dual Choice sets to hit both sides of the spectrum + the type synergy go well. If the Buzzwole set was defensive though, I'd vote for Diance as they also have good synergy; although I'd prefer Heal Bell > Mystical Fire since defensive Buzzwole can beat many Scizors already.

Chandy :0
:ss/chandelure:
Chandelure @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Infiltrator
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Flamethrower
- Hex
- Toxic
- Protect

Hex chandy pairs perfectly with nihilego, while they have a few shared weaknesses mainly in ground and water (which are easy to cover) they form an incredible duo capable of covering each others checks pretty effectively, Chandy easily beating aegislash and scizor while nihilego takes care of moltres and rhyperior. They form a very hard to wall duo which is only stopabble with a chansey. Toxic spikes greatly benefit Hex Chandelure to spread status and get the broken 130BP move.

:zygarde-10%: % @ Choice Band
Ability: Aura Break
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Thousand Arrows
- Outrage
- Extreme Speed
- Stone Edge

Zygarde-10% hates grasses unlike Nihilego which has an excellent matchup against all of them. Zygarde-10% can force its checks to take chip damage such as krookidile, jirachi, celesteela, amoonguss, umbreon. While nihilego provides t spikes for Pokémon such as tangrowth, kommo-o, tapu bulu, and mew. They are both excellent breakers and cover each other checks fairly well with little overlap.

Reserving scizor

:scizor:
Scizor @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- U-turn
- Bullet Punch
- Knock Off
- Dual Wingbeat

A more offensively inclined partner, Scizor does what it does best and pivots. In particular, it has a habit of drawing Moltres, Rotom-Heat, and bulky Salamence, all of whom Nihilego loves to see on the field. Nihilego provides a very nifty Fire resistance and can annoy Kommo-o with Toxic Spikes in exchange.

:xy/moltres: SOLO MOLTRESSSS :xy/moltres:

:bw/moltres: Moltres @ Heavy-Duty Boots :bw/moltres:
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 248 HP / 60 Def / 100 SpD / 100 Spe
Careful Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Defog
- Mystical Fire
- Roost
- Hurricane
What absolutely shits on nihilego? Scizor and Nidoqueen. SOLO moltres helps you with both of those mons.

252+ SpA Life Orb Sheer Force Nidoqueen Sludge Wave vs. 248 HP / 100+ SpD Moltres: 187-220 (48.8 - 57.4%) -- 94.1% chance to 2HKO
Nidoqueen Earth Power vs. Moltres: 0-0 (0 - 0%)
252+ SpA Life Orb Sheer Force Nidoqueen Fire Blast vs. 248 HP / 100+ SpD Moltres: 71-84 (18.5 - 21.9%) -- possible 5HKO
252+ SpA Life Orb Sheer Force Nidoqueen Thunderbolt vs. 248 HP / 100+ SpD Moltres: 234-278 (61 - 72.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ SpA Life Orb Sheer Force Nidoqueen Ice Beam vs. 248 HP / 100+ SpD Moltres: 117-139 (30.5 - 36.2%) -- 55.1% chance to 3HKO
252+ Atk Life Orb Technician Scizor Bullet Punch vs. 248 HP / 60 Def Moltres: 70-84 (18.2 - 21.9%) -- possible 5HKO
252+ Atk Life Orb Scizor Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 248 HP / 60 Def Moltres: 155-182 (40.4 - 47.5%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

Not only do you have a safe switchin but you have a chance to burn scizor and mystical fire helps nidoqueen deal less damage! You also hit the other steel types that blocks nihilego. SOLO moltres is defo one of the best partners for nihilego as it covers both of its big weak points with ease.

Thank you all again for submitting! Congrats to 467 11 11p for winning Week 4 with *ahem* SOLO MOLTRESSSS! Your submission will be added to the Hall of Fame shortly! Now for Week 5, Christmas Week if ya know what i'm referencing!

Week 5: Crawdaunt

:ss/crawdaunt:

Crawdaunt @ Life Orb
Ability: Adaptability
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Aqua Jet
- Knock Off
- Crabhammer
- Close Combat

This crustacean can be quite cataclysmic on the battlefield, boasting a brilliant Attack stat paired with Adaptability. This crab hit's as hard as a nice glass of Choccy Milk after a long day, but struggles to get in due to it's subpar bulk and is easily outsped. Surely you genius' can find Crawdaunt a friend to help him out by Thursday, right? Wishing you (and Crawdaunt) all the best, and have fun!

:ss/porygon2:
Porygon2 @ Eviolite
Ability: Trace
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe
- Trick Room
- Teleport
- Recover
- Ice Beam

Porygon sets the TR the can bring crawdaunt safely into the field with teleport, there the two greatest problems with mr krabs have been solved with this guy.
Porygon also carries Ice Beam to weaken the things that might wall Crawadaunt (Mainly Salamence and Tangrowth).
Also yes Porygon2 is viable, it can wall Chandelure and that automatically puts it in A+.
