UU MONOTYPE CHALLENGE WEEK 4 - POISON
~~

Hello again ^.^ I'm a little late on this entry, so sorry about that. Silly IRL stuff tsk.

This week was really, really fun once again. I had a lot of help making this team, especially from the lovely ScarfedGaryBusey and CoolStoryBrobat. I had lots of people ask me about the next week and really take interest in what I'm doing, and I just wanted to thank you guys all again for being awesome and supportive and making this series really fun to do. <3

Anyway, soppy blather aside, this week went pretty well. It was no Week 2, but it certainly rose above the average and managed to score a pretty good final W/L.

(P.S. At this point, you should have all seen previous weeks of this challenge. If not, here's a link to Week 1 so you understand what the fuck I'm talking about. http://www.smogon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3483413)

~~Teambuilding Process~~

This teambuilding process was actually fairly long. At certain times, I completely scrapped entire teams for other teams (the shit I do for you guys ;)) because I just didn't like the entire playstyle. I had a very early iteration of this monotype in some very, very, prelim testing, but I forgot it so I'm going to have to start with the earliest one I can remember.

The first thing I started with was a staple in many of my normal teams and a poke I knew could perform well. I decided to make an HO style team so I started off with a banded Brobat.

169.gif

Brobat needed a partner to cover his electric weakness, as well as someone to set up hazards for him, so I added a Nidoqueen.

169.gif
031.gif

Offensive Roserade came next, providing me with sleep support as well as some beastly coverage.

169.gif
031.gif
407.gif

I lacked some bulk, so I put in a spiker Qwilfish for some more utility.

169.gif
031.gif
407.gif
211.gif

Wild Card time. I really had no idea where to go for a Wild Card, so I just did the most logical thing. I knew that the two weaknesses that Poison had were Psychic and Ground (Kitten knows his typing chart, give 'em a gold star). Therefore, I opted for a Honchkrow to absorb both of those weaknesses and give me a little boost in physical firepower.

169.gif
031.gif
407.gif
211.gif
430.gif

At this point, I was feeling pretty good about myself. I'd gotten through 5 pokes and I was comfortable and experienced with using all of them. I had absolutely no idea what to put in the last slot, so I opted for something that looked like shit but I'd heard was okay - SD Drapion.

169.gif
031.gif
407.gif
211.gif
430.gif
452.gif

Yeah, don't use Drapion. Like, ever. It's sort of the poison equivalent to Altaria. After being underwhelmed by that and going through a bunch of bad options (Amoonguss, Muk), someone kindly informed me that Nidoking and Nidoqueen aren't actually the same species. WHO KNEW. (facepalm) Sooo I added a scarfed Nidoking, which wasn't that great but was the best thing I could get.

169.gif
031.gif
407.gif
211.gif
430.gif
034.gif

I played with this team for quite a while, getting a bit under a 2.0 W/L with around 60 battles, but I really just wasn't happy with it. I went to Brobat and SGB for help, and they suggested that I either revamp the whole team, or try a Venomoth.

169.gif
031.gif
407.gif
211.gif
430.gif
049.gif

I tried Venomoth for a couple of battles, but it just wasn't doing so hot. It was then that I decided to just go to the completely other side of the spectrum and go for a stall team.

A lot of the Pokemon could just be adapted to stall by giving them Sludge and changing their moves around a bit. I started with Stallbreaker Crobat, Defensive Phazoqueen with Rocks, SpD Roserade, and Defensive Qwilfish.

169.gif
031.gif
407.gif
211.gif

To fill the new wild card slot, I tried out a BU Scrafty, a pokemon that I quickly began to love and which became my main win condition for the team.

169.gif
031.gif
407.gif
211.gif
560.gif

I rounded out the sixth slot with another hidden gem from the tiers down under - Skuntank. Skuntank helped me by trapping things like Victini and Chandelure with its awesome Pursuit/Sucker Punch shenanigans, as well as to give me some more bulk and make things die with aftermath. It also had some phazing capabilities.

169.gif
031.gif
407.gif
211.gif
560.gif
435.gif

Although the team was doing okay, it just wasn't strong enough as a bulky stall team and was too easily worn down, and couldn't do much in return. I decided to just add some offense by switching EVs and movesets around, and ended up with the following, and best iteration of the poison monotype team I could create.

You may have noticed that our little flappy friend was in every single step of the teambuilding process. That's because Crobat is an absolute monster in UU, and in the restrictions of a Poison mono he is no exception. Primarily, he is an extremely fast poke that helps compensate for the lack of speed from most of the poison type pokemon. Although his amazing resistances to fighting and grass aren't as useful given that I have 4 other poison types (._.), he's still an awesome all around poke. It's basically a standard stallbreaker set with a little bit of speed creeping to win out against other Crobats, which my team can have a somewhat hard time dealing with otherwise. The moves are pretty standard too, with U-turn taking precedence over Toxic because it's not the only thing on the team that can poison things :P. Roost, Taunt, and Brave Bat are for reliable recovery, preventing hazards and status, and fucking shit up, respectively.

Qwilfish is always a monster. He especially helped in this mono because, unlike the pseudo-phaze dual spiker I've run before, he is limited to only one type of spikes but then gets massive amounts of extra utility in Pain Split and Thunder Wave, which are amazing for this team. Spreading paralysis especially can help things like Scrafty or Nidoqueen sweep more easily, and can cripple some special threats like Raikou who like to switch in to it. Qwilfish does its job amazingly well, absorbing physical hits like a boss, especially fire and fighting hits. His weaknesses are covered by Scrafty, Skuntank, and Nidoqueen, and he can survive for the whole match easily by using Pain Split as well as his Black Sludge recovery. Waterfall is for the relatively powerful uninvested stab, and Spikes are... well... spikes ._. Overall, Qwilfish does its job amazingly well, and it needs to come to UU already. Like, seriously for reals.

Nidoqueen is another shining star on this team. The ability to set up rocks is extremely useful, and its also an amazing all-around poke. With a bulky EV spread, it can take loads of hits as well as dishing out massive damage with Modest nature, full investment, SF LO boosted attacks. I originally had Black Sludge, Roar Nidoqueen, but I felt that LO SF was just too good to not abuse, and that Queen generally wasn't bulky enough to serve as an effective phazer. The coverage is pretty standard, Earth Power for the reliable and ridiculously strong stab, Ice Beam to hit Flygon, Gligar, and anything else floating off the ground hard, and Fire Blast for other stuff, like Ferro and Esca and Balloon Registeel (?). I prefer Nidoqueen massively over Nidoking, and I'm happy that she fit in well on this team. The Ground-typing helps me a lot as well, allowing me to switch in fearlessly on electric type attacks, especially from Choiced mons, and get a free turn to set up my rocks or fire off a powerful special hit.

Roserade, like, most of the other mons on this team, has a tremendous amount of utility. It can put things to sleep, incapacitating them for the entire match, lay down Toxic Spikes to help me wear my opponents walls down faster, and has amazing dual stab in Giga Drain and Sludge Bomb which deals damage and recovers HP even without any investment. I chose to go halfway between an Offensive and Defensive spiker, which allowed me to still deal out some damage with coverage but maintain my strong SpD stat. I originally had Synthesis in place of Sludge Bomb, but I rarely used it and it seemed sort of useless compared to the coverage that Sludge Bomb provided me. Roserade is a pretty important part of this team, as she can take any special hits and disable walls like Umbreon by putting them to sleep. Toxic Spikes are also helpful in keeping things from setting up on me. (Funny thing, like 5 people throughout testing tried to lay down toxic spikes on my side of the field. It was like they didn't notice that I had 4 grounded Poison types, a Crobat, and a Lum Scrafty ^.^) Overall though, Rade is a great mon and one that deserved a major spot on this team.

Skuntank is the sixth and final addition to this team, and I have to say he surprised me. I assumed that it would be merely another shit filler pokemon to round out the bunch, but he actually proved very useful. He can trap things like Victini, Chandelure, and Mismagius, who I can usually mind-game enough to KO them without taking much damage. Taunt and Roar prevent Skuntank from being set up on, and Aftermath is awesome for getting that last bit of damage on something when I just need to sack anything. Between Sucker Punch and Aftermath, even things that aren't weak to dark will have a major chunk bitten out of them by taking down Skuntank. I chose the EV spread to maintain bulk as a taunter/phazer while keeping a large amount of pure power to make Pursuit and Sucker Punch as powerful as possible. Sucker Punch is my only priority on the team, so it's better to have it as strong as possible in case I just need to get damage on something really threatening. Skuntank was also useful when I predicted psychic moves from things like Mew, Azelf, or Cress, as I could switch in and then proceed to Taunt/Pursuit and deal with them accordingly.

PTJon7 - Scrafty @ Lum Berry
Trait: Moxie
EVs: 252 Atk/4 SpD/252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Ice Punch
- Drain Punch
- Crunch

Scrafty was a poke that I hadn't really fully explored the potential of in UU. On my poison stall team, the BU set was really helpful, but it just got wrecked by faster special threats like Shaymin and Nidoqueen. Therefore, I decided to try out the DD set now that my team is a little bit more offensive, and I haven't been disappointed. Lum Berry gives me lots of free set ups, and Moxie gives me tons of boosts. This is my main win condition for this team and with all the support provided from everything, it's usually pretty easy to pull off. Drain Punch gives me some semi-reliable recovery, where as Crunch is a useful secondary stab and Ice Punch wrecks face for things like Gligar. It's a pretty standard set, but it's standard for a reason - the coverage is close to perfect and it's a very reliable sweeper. Scrafty's natural base 115 defenses aid it in sweeping as well, because it can take some hits if it really needs to. Overall, Scrafty is an absolutely amazing mon, and is easily the MVP of this team. I think it's one of the best possible wild cards for a poison team, as it not only fills up the gap of strong physical Pokemon, but also covers one weakness. Because of the pure amount of support that this team offers, Scrafty can easily shine.

~~Conclusion~~

This team was quite a lot of fun to make, but I didn't realize something important until the final iteration of the team. Poison seems like it would be an amazing monotype, it has very, very good pokes in UU. Roserade, Qwilfish, and Nidoqueen are all high or rising in usage, and for very good reason, as they can perform a multitude of roles very well. Unfortunately, it is this extreme utility of almost all poison types that leads to the resultant team not being that amazing. Because everything can do everything okay, it's sort of a jack of all trades, master of none idea. Everything is filling a similar utility role, but the only true sweeper on the team is Scrafty. There aren't any true special or physical walls either, Qwilfish doubling as a T-Wave spreader and a spiker, Roserade doubling as a Toxic Spiker and a Sleeper as well as an offensive poke, and Nidoqueen doubling as a special attacker and a SR set-up poke. Because there is only one poke whose moveslot and EVs are made purely for the sake of sweeping, and because poison types are generally not viable for that sort of set, there is so much emphasis on the one pokemon (in this case Scrafty) that when it goes down it's hard to even come up with a win condition other than perhaps stalling everything out or spamming Brave Bat. That problem is what prevented this team from being truly amazing, as unfortunate as that is, and it really made me realize how all poison types truly are similar in their role as support pokes.

The following replays are what I believe showcase good usage of the pokes on my team. They are not necessarily against top-tier players, but they do show what happens in an average battle. Enjoy!

Replays

I'll be updating the second post on this page with a complete threat list, as well as designing a banner for the Monotype Challenge in general and probably one for this team as well, so yeah. Thanks again for all the support, and remember to rate, luvdisc, and most importantly vote in the poll on which type you'd like me to do next :)

Abomasnow
- Generally not a threat by itself. Most if not all of my pokes are faster and have an SE move against it. Scarf could be a bit annoying, but other than that.
- Hail in general falls pretty easy to this team. I have plenty of hazard and phaze support, so Walrein will find it hard to get an opening. Scrafty can also easily wreck face and keep recovering HP via drain punch to counteract all the damage from Hail.

- Ambipom
- Lol. I can either lead with Qwilfish and get free hazards/paralysis or just lead with Crobat. 99% of Ambipom users don't know what Inner Focus is, so I just Brave Bat as they do like 20% with Fake Out and kill them off early. Not a threat.

- Arcanine
- Qwilfish deals with this pretty easily, and barring that I can just 1v1 it with Skuntank or Scrafty. Basically just a lesser Vic or Darm every time I've seen it.

- Azelf
- Azelf isn't as threatening as you might think. Variants with fighting coverage are rare but scary, but Skuntank can usually deal with them. Scrafty is a decent back-up as well. Usually not a problem but if Skuntank goes down it can get slightly messy.

- Azumarill
- Qwilfish says hi. Barring that, banded can usually be scouted and dealt with with any number of things.

- Bisharp
- Bisharp isn't too threatening, as Scrafty is a pretty hard counter even to sets carrying Brick Break, which are few and far between. It can't really set up on much, as Roserade will sweep it, Qwilfish will just hammer it with Waterfall, Skuntank will Roar it, Nidoqueen will just demolish its face, Scrafty the same, and Crobat can just taunt or U-turn out. That said, if it does somehow manage to get up a Sub and an SD, it can be problematic.

- Blastoise
- Blastoise is meh. Spinning is annoying, but my Spiker and my SRer can both deal heavy chunks of damage to it with Earth Power and Giga Drain, so it's not much more than an annoyance.

- Bronzong
- Bronzong is annoying defensively purely because I don't have much to hit it with. Although Nidoqueen can fire off a Fire Blast, she won't want to be switching in on too many Earthquakes. Roserade can use it as sleep fodder and Qwilfish can use it as semi set-up fodder, but it's sometimes hard to break through. It's effectiveness is somewhat reduced by the fact that Toxic doesn't affect much on my team, but it is still annoying enough to warrant a plum rating.

- Chandelure
- Chandelure is always a major threat, especially without a special wall. Given that my special wall is weak to Fire Blast and my only poke who resists it has the SpD of a cockatoo, Chandelure can be a bit of a problem. That said, Nidoqueen wins 1v1 and it easily dies to a Sucker Punch or Pursuit in most cases from Skuntank.

- Cobalion
- Cobalion falls into the same camp as Bisharp, except for with less offensive presence, more threatening to Scrafty, and a bit more utility. Not too hard to deal with, though. Nidoqueen and Qwilfish can usually handle it nicely.

- Cofagrigus
- The more common defensive threat doesn't pose much of a threat to my team, and the OTR set is usually shut down by Roserade, Nidoqueen, and/or Skuntank. Is annoying in stopping Scrafty sweeps with Moxie, but other than that it doesn't do all too much.

- Crobat
- Crobat is actually quite a threat to my team. It can easily deal with Roserade and Scrafty. Qwilfish can intimidate it but gets taunted and can't do much while it's in, and Sucker Punch isn't very useful when it has Roost. Nidoqueen is usually my best bet, and I also EV my own Crobat so as to outspeed standard stallbreaker. Banded Crobat can wreck quite a lot of things on this team as well, although it is more susceptible to Skuntank.

- Darmanitan
- Qwilfish sort of walls most Darms unless they're LO and carrying EQ. Between hazards and recoil, these things don't usually stick around to do much damage, especially with Skuntank lurking.

- Empoleon
- I was lucky not to see very many Empoleon, but I imagine they'd be slightly annoying. Although they can hit a lot of my things hard and get SR up, its speed makes it less of a threat and turns it into something I can pretty easily wear down long term. Meh.

- Flygon
- Flygon requires some careful prediction and scouting on my part. The LO set in particular can be dangerous, but it's pretty rare. I can normally figure out what the scarf/band sets are going to lock themselves into and go into an appropriate counter. If they lock themselves into Outrage early game like most people do for some reason, I can just get rid of them with Nidoqueen and not have to worry about it. That said, late-game Flygons are very frightening.

- Froslass
- Froslass is a minor annoyance, but I can sometimes use it to help me get an early sweep. I usually just lead with Scrafty, Crunch as they spike, and then DD as they DB. I will continue to DD until they run out of PP, taunt, or switch, at which point I usually can outspeed them and start sweeping. Barring that, Skuntank is a pretty good counter as long as I predict right.

- Gligar
- Ehhhh. Gligar can't really do much to this team, even though it does have the EQ stab. Crobat pretty handily shuts down every set with Taunt, especially sets with Toxic over U-turn. He gives me a lot of free turns most battles, even though he's not the easiest thing to take out.

- Heracross
- Happily, Heracross is basically a non-threat to this team. Nidoqueen, Crobat, and Qwilfish can all take basically any moves it wants to throw and just cripple it or set up hazards or maintain momentum. That's the one nice thing about these monotypes, you can completely neutralize some big threats just because of typing.

- Hitmontop
- Meh. See Blastoise/Heracross, it's basically a bad mix of those.

- Honchkrow
- Honchkrow usually isn't fast nor strong enough to sweep me outright. Qwilfish is a pretty effective check, as is Nidoqueen. If it comes down to it, a Sucker Punch + BB recoil + Aftermath + Life Orb can probably take it out in one shot ^.^'

- Houndoom
- Not at all a threat to this team. Even if it gets up a nasty plot, Crobat still outspeeds and can do major damage. Qwil and Nidoqueen can deal with it pretty well, and Scrafty can live a fire blast, boost, and start a sweep.

- Kingdra
- How much of a threat Kingdra is really depends on the set. Physical kingdra is sort of walled by Qwilfish, who can just T-Wave and go from there. Special Kingdra under rain can be more of a problem, Roserade being the only real check I have. If I don't let it set up, though, I should be fine.

- Krookodile
- Krookodile can majorly fuck up this team, if Crobat is gone. My main two physical walls (NQueen and Qwil) are absolutely destroyed by EQ (or at the least can't live more than one). Krook resists sucker punch, and EQ doesn't affect aftermath. Scrafty can live one, but if it has previous damage it could be hard, especially after a moxie boost. A very dangerous poke that I need to keep Crobat around for.

- Machamp
- Confusion is bleh, but 5 things on my team resist DP, soooo yeah :3

- Meloetta
- Meloetta can definitely be a problem for this team. The CM set can be a nightmare if it's running Focus Blast and Psychic. Fortunately, a weakness to Sucker Punch and being outsped by Crobat means that I can usually take this thing out one way or another.

- Mew
- The fact that Mew is so versatile makes it a bit more of a threat. That said, it's generally the same idea as Meloetta.

- Meinshao
- :D

- Milotic
- An annoying bulky water, but Roserade deals with it pretty handily. It can't really touch Qwil either.

- Nidoking
- Earth Power is scary, and it can deal with Crobat with T-Bolt/Ice Beam. It's usually just something I have to slowly wear down or predict a switch to. Roserade is a decent check as well.

-
- An equal threat to Nidoking because of decreased speed and power but increased bulk.

- P-Z
- Offensively worrisome, but too frail to be a lasting problem. Scarfed variants are generally checked by Roserade, and most things on my team can take a hit if needed.

- P2
- Bulkier than PZ, but not usually enough of a threat to really cause me much worry. It can be hard to break through, but Scrafty is generally good enough to counter most sets. OTR P2 is probably the most annoying.

- Raikou
- Choiced Variants are pretty easily dealt with by using Roserade and Nidoqueen liberally. The SubCM set is slightly more annoying, but can be emergency roared out by Skuntank if it doesn't set up too much (and people usually continue to set up behind a sub). Nidoqueen is probably my best counter. It's definitely something to worry about, but I usually try and get toxic spikes up to make SubCM less of a threat.

- Registeel
- Eh. A bit annoying defensively but dealt with by Nidoqueen. Not much to say.

- Rhyperior
- More threatening purely because it's hard to switch in on, but I do have a lot of things that can scare it out or just straight-up kill it. Roserade, Qwilfish, Scrafty, and Nidoqueen all have at least one SE move.

- Roserade
- Four things on my team resist grass and poison, so it's not offensively that threatening. Spikes and Sleep are annoying, but Toxic Spikes is obviously not a problem at all (though some people still insist on setting up both layers of them while I kill them ._.')

- Rotom-H
- Overheat hurts, but isn't exactly spammable. I can usually predict electric moves and just switch into Nidoqueen. I don't have a whole lot to hit it with, but it's pretty easily worn down.

- Sableye
- Sableye is obviously always an annoyance, but it's not a game changer. Nidoqueen and Roserade are best able to handle it.

- Scrafty
- lol fighting types

- Sharpedo
- Can be generally annoying, but sort of walled by Qwilfish even with EQ. Thunder Wave cripples it and it can then be picked off by anything else. If Qwil is gone, it's definitely a threat, but Roserade can probably handle it if healthy enough.

- Shaymin
- Other than the rare Psychic variant (which shouldn't be rare it's amazing), Shaymin isn't all too threatening. Roserade and Crobat hard-counter it.

- Slowbro
- It can be dangerous in Trick Room, but otherwise is too slow to cause much worry. Skuntank and Roserade can both deal very hefty chunks to it, and hazards will help wrack up damage as well.

- Snorlax
- Between Qwilfish, Nidoqueen, Scrafty, and Skuntank, I have plenty of things to deal with Lax if not necessarily hard-countering it. Skuntank can prevent it from boosting or just Sucker Punch/Aftermath in an emergency if it has managed to randomly Belly Drum or something.

- Suicune
- Annoying, but Roserade usually deals with it pretty well. Skuntank can roar it away if it gets too many boosts.

- Swampert
- If Roserade is gone, swampert can be a problem, as it hits most of my team pretty hard with Scald and EQ and is bulky enough to withstand hits from the things that can survive them.

- Togekiss
- Togekiss is just annoying all around. If I can paralyze it, it makes it much easier to deal with. Other than that, I sort of just hit it until it dies.

- Tornadus
- Tornadus can be extremely threatening. Rain in general is hard to deal with for this team, and stab Hurricanes can rip major holes through me as well, as I have no resists. I can sacrifice some things and wear it down eventually, but it's not too easy.

- Umbreon
- WishPassing and Cleric duties are annoying to face, but Umbreon is generally just set-up fodder for Scrafty, as Foul Play does jack shit.

- Victini
- A good example of how I deal with Victini is in one of the replays. Victini is generally annoying, but I do have something to take any move it likes to throw at me - Scrafty and Skuntank for Zen, Nidoqueen for Bolt, and Qwilfish for V-Create. Unless I predict completely wrong, it's pretty easy to take out. Barring that, Skuntank can always wreck face as well.

- Virizion
- Grass + Fighting vs Poison hi x)

- Weavile
- Weavile is an absolute monster against everything on this team except for Qwilfish. If Qwilfish goes down, I have a lot more trouble with it, but Scrafty can take an unboosted hit and OHKO. Everything else has a harder time, though.

- Xatu
- Annoying, but not altogether destructive. It's ridiculously easy to predict, and most of my Hazard setters can hit it hard with Sludge Bomb/Ice Beam/Waterfall(ish) or just switch to a better counter.

- Yanmega
- Yanmega's Speed Boost and Tinted Lens sets can be trouble for this team if used correctly. Nidoqueen can tank a hit and OHKO, and Crobat doesn't have much trouble either, but neither of them appreciates taking more than one Specs Bug Buzz.

- Zapdos
- Zapdos is a very hard thing to deal with on this team. Figuring out what HP it has is very important, and the HP Flying variant in specific can absolutely wreck me, especially when Nidoqueen is gone. Crobat can't do jack shit, Skuntank can do a little bit, Qwilfish gets slaughtered, Roserade doesn't appreciate stab HP Flying, and Scrafty doesn't either. Definitely a major threat to this team.

- Zoroark
- Not all too worrisome. It can't do a ton to my team even though it has neutral moves for everything, and it's frail enough to be easily taken out.

This looks like quite the well-thought out team and Qwilfish is sooooo good. I also really like the idea of using skuntank in UU. This team seems to be pretty much as effective as a UU poison type team can be but here's a couple things I noticed:
-I'm guessing you meant to give nidoqueen sp.att EVs not attack EVs
-I'd make scrafty jolly over adamant because an adamant one gets outsped by every common scarfer even at +2. I also, even on a DD set, would run shed skin leftovers, the reason being is that most teams can either deal with scrafty well (have a scrafty counter) or simply can't and have to just throw attacks at it hoping it will die. With shed skin and leftovers, the amount of teams that have an answer to Scrafty shrinks significantly when scrafty can take more than one status and still retain its sweeping potential plus most of the time a player will asume lum moxie when they see DD. Forgive me if I don't fully explain Scrafty's sweeping potential but long story short is that if you start racking up moxie boosts in the first place 9 times out of 10 your opponent was gonna be swept anyway so IMO shed skin is the way to go (or even intimidate if you wanna make it easier to set up on physical attackers). Also Scrafty isn't much of a revenge killer so it's not gonna be nabbing any quick moxie boosts like honchkrow or krook can.
-Not super important but I find that 248 HP and 8 speed are pretty useful on qwil. With these EVs, qwil's pain split will be slightly more useful and it will be able to outspeed 4 EV gligars, suicune and other qwils. Obviously, these are very minor perks but IMO are worth the incredibly minor manipulation of EVs. Plus qwil can potentially flinch low HP gligars to death which can come in handy.
-Why exactly do you have 144 speed on crobat? You could shed 8 EVs and be guaranteed to outspeed Raikou, shed 36 and be guaranteed to outspeed tornadus and froslass, or shed 48 and be guaranteed to outspeed +1 jolly scrafty. Just being extremely nitpicky, but there's nothing 136 spe crobat gets outsped by that 144 spe doesn't.

Hey moose, thanks for the rate :)

Yeah, the SpA thing on Nidoqueen is probably just a typo, I'll edit that :3 thanks for catching it

When I was making the RMT, I was looking at Scrafty and wondering that myself. I do often find myself being outsped by things that I wouldn't otherwise be outsped by if I were Jolly, so that makes a lot of sense. I suppose Shed Skin lefties is a good idea too, I've just always found that Shed Skin is good in concept but not reliable enough in practice, so I preferred the guaranteed 1-time status heal from Lum rather than the iffy but infinite 30%. That said, the lefties recovery would be helpful. The only reason I'm hesitant to do so is that it is my main and practically only win condition, so Moxie Boosts can actually be more helpful than you'd think. I'm definitely changing Adamant -> Jolly though.

The Qwil EVs will be updated as well, that makes sense. I usually speedcreep on qwil, but I guess I forgot :3

I have 144 Speed on Crobat purely for the sake of outspeeding other Crobat, because they're sort of a threat to my team. 144 guarantees that I outspeed people who are trying to speedcreep by using 140, so yeah >.>. I know it's sort of silly, but this speedcreeping is important in order to neutralize the threat that Crobat holds.

Right now I am on the road and I am using my phones internet so once I get back in a few minutes I will fully rate this team. Also I love the skunktanks name and luvdisc

Sweet team as always Kitten, I'm really enjoying all these unique teams that you've made. I'm voting for Ground for the next one solely for the reason that I almost always see it in the finals of mono-type tournaments on PS and it seems like it could be an interesting one to go with.

I say keep Lum Berry + Moxie on Scrafty, as you said Scrafty is your main win condition so it really needs those extra attack boosts to sweep teams. I've often found that one Moxie boost after a DD can make the difference between a win and a loss in battles. I would try out Jolly over Adamant though.

I think Nidoqueen would benefit from the EV spread 176 HP / 252 SAtk / 80 Spe to outspeed base 85s and lower (Suicune, Gligar, Milotic, Blastoise).

Good luck with your next team!

I've finished my threat list and thought it'd be a good time to use a bump so yeah.

This thread has come up short in terms of poll votes as compared to the last two :( remember, it only takes a second of time and every vote saves a homeless kitten !

Other than that, any more rates would be appreciated. I'm curious to see how you guys would have tackled this challenge.
