So I just finished breeding this team and I've been having a lot of fun with it. It's not terribly competitive but it's been working for my casuals and get to use some of my favorite pokemon in it.
Politoed: Drizzle
Nature: Calm
Item: Damp Rock
EVs: 252 SDef / 80 SAtk /172 HP
Moveset: Perish Song, Hypnosis, Hydro Pump, Ice beam
But isn't drizzle banned? Only with swift swim and our other pokon will not be running any such ability. In this bracket Politoed has reasonable bulk and Drizzle is hard to come by. Damp Rock allows 8 full turns of rain. The EV spread makes for a fairly surviveable pokemon who still has devistating Hydro Pump in the rain. Perish Song serves as a pseudo phase to stop set-up sweepers or a surefire kill if they only have one pokemon left. Hypnosis allows safe switches for the rest of the team. Bulky support that can still pack a reasonable punch.
Ludicolo: Rain Dish
Nature: Calm
Item: Leftovers
EVs: 252 SDef / 252 HP / 4 Def
Moveset: Leech Seed, Toxic, Protect, Giga Drain
I. Love. Ludocolo. Stall. He's the reason I built the team honestly. I ran this same set back in Diamond and Pearl with reasonable success. Water / Grass typing is wonderful in my opinion. This pokemon has no answer for poison or steel types, however, outside of that this set in the rain is terribly hard to kill. It can take a wallop from a special sweeper and keep in moving. Taunt is a real problem and physically powerful pokemon can be an issue but his role as a special wall is hard to get past.
Bronzong: Levitate
Nature: Relaxed
Item: Light Clay
EVs: 252 Def / 252 SDef / 4 HP
Moveset: Gyro Ball, Reflect, Explosion, Rain Dance
I needed a physical wall and Bronzong was the best choice I could imagine for this purpose. In the rain his onlt weaknesses are dark and ghost. Gyro ball hurts even without the dedication to Atk EVs. He can eat outrage like a boss. Reflect serves as excellent support for the specially defensive wall counterparts and Rain Dance assures that a dead Politoed doesn't mean a loss of weather access. Explosion, while nerfed, still packs a good punch and it also allows a safe switch in with someone who also benefits from the rain.
Toxicroak: Dry Skin
Nature: Jolly
Item: Black Sludge
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Moveset: Drain Punch, Poison Jab, Sucker Punch, Swords Dance
With the rain, the sludge and the drain punchyou better 1HKO the frog or he's going to come back with a vengence. Great coverage for many of the teams threats packed into one deadly package. Steel, Fairy and Psychic and Grass types get ripped through like paper. When he comes in the revenge he typically can assure a free Swords Dance of you predict the switch properly and one is all he needs to go to work, but he's a reasonable threat without it.
Mamoswine: Thick Fat
Nature: Jolly
Item: Focus Sash
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4HP
Moveset: Icecile Crash, Ice Shard, Earthquake, Stealth Rock
Stealth rock is the best entry hazard bar none and I needed access on the team. Thick fat and Rain means fire is going to be resisted which is hilarious. The ground typing also allows Mamoswine to check any of the electric threats that may be an issue for the not aquatic members of the team. He has hard STABs that cover a great deal of the meta with at least neutral damage. Focus sash means he WILL get the rocks out. If he doesn't get pummeled with a focus blast or something similar he can be a great pivot to continually scare out Jolteon and the remainder of the electrical threats in the tier.
Blastoise: Rain Dish /Mega Launcher
Nature: Modest
Item: Blastoiseinite
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SAtk / 4 Def
Moveset: Scald, Dragon Pulse, Aura Sphere, Rapid Spin
I needed a spinner and Blastoise fit the bill. More bulk, Mega Launcher grants wonderful pseudo-stab damage on the likes of dragons or a steel type that cant be dealr with through toxic stall assuning toxicroak has already croaked. Rain Dish can be used but mega launcher is the go to as he gets a sizeable increase in bulk and damage output.
It's a slow team,it's it's bulky team, but it has been a very fun team. Thoughts?
