UU RMT "Bulky Brawlers"

Hey its Gengarx777 this is my first RMT and i feel i could really use some help. This team has done really well for me, but i cant help feeling like something is missing. Without further ado, here is team "Bulky Brawlers"

Froslass-- the Lead @ focus sash
snow cloak
evs: 4 def, 252 spe, 252 SpA
Timid
Ice beam
Destiny Bond
Taunt
Spikes

This freaky little ear-armed creature has actually proved to be a very effective lead. I play it by ideally setting up spikes, as this is very important to the bulky nature of the team. Ice beam crobats, Destiny bond things before i die. Against common scarf leads like maggy and typhlosion, I use destiny bond, leaving my opponent the choice of switching and letting me set up, or attacking and neither of us have an advantage. Either way, this is an effective lead and blocking her own spins is pretty sweet. Evs are kinda obvious.

Slobro--The dumbass-i mean very nice defensive combo part 1@ lefties
Own Tempo
evs: 212 hp, 252 def, 44 SpA
Bold
Surf
Slack Off
Shadow ball
Twave

Okay this thing is, in my opinion, the best uu physical wall of all time. Counters Blaziken, arcanine, Staraptor, Regirock, and many others. Twave is instrumental in in crippling my opponents and allowing my bulky sweepers, Azu and Shay, to ram through my opponents. Evs are pretty standard, giving him great defense and some offensive kick if needed.

Registeel-- Part 2 of the defense--@ Lefties
Clear Body
evs:150 hp, 4 def, 102 atk, 252 Sdef
Careful
Iron Head
Earthquake
Stealth rock
Twave

Gotta give some credit to HeysUp, Registeel plus Slobro is an awesome combo. This guy counters a lot of special attackers, pretty much everything but Houndoom and Maggy. Both of those two have a limited lifespan with spikes and SR. He is also a great counter to Mismagius, and helps spread para. Evs give it good special defensive survivability.

Mismagius--The ass kicker, @Lefties
Levitate
evs: 80Hp, 252 Spe, 176 SpA
Timid
Shadow ball
Hp fighting
Substitute
Calm mind

Your basic Calm mind set, except max speed is kind of becoming on must on these things. Since i often use paralysis to help set up subs, the evs help as they ensure i can make a sub at 25%. The sweeper of the team, and serves an important role blocking spin.

poke184_3.png

Azu-- The ace in the hole, @ lefties
Huge Power
evs:252 hp, 22o atk, 32 Sdef
Adamant
Substitute
Focus Punch
Waterfall
Encore

Ok, first of all, I dont want anyone recommending i use Choice band. The paralysis support makes him faster than stat upers and support pokemon, allowing me predict a calm mind on a Raikou or Stealth rock on a Steelix, switch this baby in, and screw them with an unexpected encore. Then i get a free sub, and use Azu's massive atk to punish my opponent with either a super powerful waterfall or focus punch. This set is devastaing, as many teams, when preparing for Azu, dont ever prepare for an encore set, and this is probably the most unchangeable member of the team. Let it be noted that Aqua jet is illegal with encore. The evs are pretty standard for encore Azu, but i put a little extra effort into special def to help my aforementioned problems with fire types.

poke492_3.png

Shaymin--The Incredible Bulk, @ Lefties
Natural Cure
Evs: 252 hp, 56 SpA, 200 def
Modest
Seed Flare
Air Slash
Earth power
Rest

Its green, its huge and its angry! It is the incredible Bulk!!! He's probably angy because he knows he is too good for uu, but that doesn't mean i cant enjoy him while he is here! The first thing you may notice are the evs and how much significance i placed on def. Thats because this is my Torterra check, totally screwing the big guy. even a life orbed rock polish set only does about 22% with stone edge, and Shaymin resists ground and Grass. Ground types in general kind off annoyed me, with their immunity to Twave, and this guy screws over almost every ground type in the game. The only exception is mixed Camerupt, who Slobro and Azu kind off have covered.

Ok thats about it. If you want i can make a threat list, but i mentioned a lot of my threats. Hopefully, you guys can see something I missed, or see something i can improve on. (Ps, i was thinking a phazer, particularly Drapion, would do the team good, but i cant seem to make a good spot for him).

Thanks a bunch!

This looks very very similar to my old team, its on the 10th page i think :P.

In my old team i took advantage of the two walls that work the best together, Registeel and Slowbro, and used the paralysis to set up sweeps. (With Raikou). Thanks for the shout-out :D.

One thing though, i think you should Put LO on Shaymin, and put those Def EVs in SAtk. You really dont need them especially since you have a recovery move, and 252 HP is enough Bulk.

And your EVs on Registeel look kind of Crazy, if they are for a reason then let us know :P.

On Slowbro, i found its very effective to Light Screen, and Missy has a VERY easy set up time, because of the Subs likely not breaking 25% without CMs, but its personal preference.

Id like to point out, something that my team was weak to before i replaced Shaymin with Roserade--> Toxic Spikes!

Thanks Heysup! yeah i realize that the evs are pretty crazy on registeel. I forget what I was thinking there. If anyone has any suggestions for good special wall Registeel i would really appreciate it! I realive toxic spikes kinda screw me, i was thinking Drapion but what should i take out? The defense on Shay helps me out a lot against Azumarril and Torterra.

Toxic Spikes do hurt this team rather badly. Most of the team isnt badly affected by it, but Slowbro can't wall anything when it's badly poisoned. As you stated before, Drapion is a great suggestion to solve this problem, since it is a bulkier "brawler" and can come in repeatedly to asorb Tspikes. I would recommend running this over Azumarill, as it occupies the only niche that Drapion can really fill, which is being a bulky sweeper:

Drapion @Leftovers
200 HP, 160 Atk, 104 Def, 46 Sp. Def.
Impish nature
-Swords Dance
-Crunch
-EQ
-Ice Fang/Taunt

This is a set I used to use back in the old UU (and am still running today) when I needed something that could counter Hitmontop and still be an effective sweeper. The EVs ensure that you will be 3HKOed by Max Attack Hitmontop's Close Combat, and still allow you to sweep. This may be outdated, since Hitmontops are only used as spinners nowadays, and rarely run max attack. Because of this you could either run 252 hp/252 def Impish and set up Tspikes of your own or you can run 252 atk/ 252 spe and be an all-out sweeper.

The moves are basically taken from the analysis, except for Taunt. Taunt could work over Ice Fang, since it can stop status-inducers and other setup pokes who can harm the team by spike-stacking. Taunt is on my own Drapion (I run the set above) and it is making a great contribution to the tam.

Also, you could just run 252 hp/252 sp def on Registeel.

I think it would be a good idea to take out your Azumaril for Drapion. Azumaril is a strong attacker, but TBH sub-punch will only work on skilled opponents once.

Im going to go ahead and disagree with the post above mine. I dont think those EVs are really effective in this metagame. Drapion has its general Bulk to set up on weak Attackers. When you start losing speed and Attack, you start being unable to sweep against the tough walls of a standard new UU team. Im going to recomend the spread moveset:
452drapion.png
@ Leftovers / Life Orb / Scope Lens
Ability: Sniper
EVs: 64 hp / 252 Atk / 188 Spe
Nature: Jolly (+Spe, -SAtk)
-Swords Dance
-Crunch / Night Slash
-Poison Jab / Cross Poison
-Earthquake

Ice Fang really does nothing for Drapion, as STAB crunch or poison hits everything SE nearly as hard, while having a Def drop possibility. The other options are if you like Gambling with Crits to take advantage of Sniper. The speed is to outspeed base 100s without Nature, most notably CB Staraptor.

Alternatively, you could replace Slowbro, with Nidoqueen:
031nidoqueen.png
@ Leftovers
Ability: Poison Point
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spe
Nature: Impish
-Roar
-Earthquake
-Stealth Rock or Toxic Spikes(if you use SR, give Registeel explosion.)
-Stone Edge

This gives you a Phazer, and adds Toxic Spikes to the mix if you like. It keeps good synergy with Registeel for fighting resistance, and you already have Azumarill and Shaymin for Water resistance. Fire may hurt you a LITTLE bit more, but Slowbro cant really wall Special Fires anyway. I would still change Azumarill into and LO version with Aqua Jet, Return and Super power over Encore, Sub and Focus Punch.

I think the first option is a little better, well alot more fun at least.

Oh, and a good Registeel Special Spread is something like 252 HP / 100 Atk / 156 SpD with Careful.

Hmmm interesting suggestions. Unfortunatley, im finding a very large weakness to crobat. I was destroying Sitzmark and his crobat came around and started destroying me. Its fast taunt screws my startegy, and it handles buth my walls very well. Heysup, your suggestions make alot of sense, but will Drapion help me much against Crobat? Any ideas on how to make a change that will help my greatest threats-- Bat and Tspikes, will be very much appreciated.

Well for Starters, you could put Psychic on Slowbro for Crobat. Crobat is one of those Pokemon, that is very difficult to take out due to its speed. Another Option here, is to change your lead to something like Roserade, or Venasaur for a fast sleep. Even a sash Medicham could work for Crobat.

But yes, Drapion can 1v1 Crobat fairly easily.
