UU Shoddy team needs work

I have played a good deal of UU on shoddy and have a glaring weakness to sweepers with water/ice attacks, and scarfers. Now that Pinsir is finally gone, and another half-dozen have dropped down to UU from BL, this seems like the time to get Smogon's opinion.

The weak link seems to be Froslass, the Rotom that couldn't. Her speed advantage has never done much for me, her lack of levitate and being weak to rock has made it harder to bring her in, she doesn't hit as hard as Rotom, and despite having a million options has never performed well at anything except clean-up sweeper.

Altaria has also underperformed. Her main role is to counter Ninetails, which she does admirably, but that just isn't enough. A special wall that can't survive ice is no good in UU, as I have found out. She needs replacing, or at least a reworking.

Rotom and Kangaskhan are the heart of the team, easily. Rotom, with 3 immunities, has a very easy time coming in, especially with Aggron and Kanga baiting fighting and ground attacks, hit incredibly hard with Tbolt, tricks the specs onto walls that don't want it, and hits the various water/ground walls incredibly hard. Kanga comes in, gets a sub up, and devastates with STAB return backed up by sucker punch and eq. Amazingly sturdy to both sides of offense, with 101 hp subs that take 2 hits for most walls and tanks to break.

I would like to bring in Nidoking and a solution to my special sweeper problem, preferably one not named Clefable. Nido can do damn near everything, including running a fairly effective scarf set that survives hits from most other scarfers (something I need). Without Alty, special sweepers will run over me ever more then they do now. Hypno and Grumpig are my two prime candidates, but I am open to any suggestions.

I would definitely say get rid of Froslass, it does absolutely nothing for your team synergy when you have another Ghost (Rotom). In fact the only set Froslass could run that even genuinely benefits you is the parafusion set, T-Wave + C-Ray.

Altaria does provide some important support here being your Cleric and special wall. I think you may want to consider Dragon Dance to let you Roost better and also be more of a offensive threat.

I don't honestly know why people think Altaria can go mixed, even Draco Meteor won't make up for twin 70 bases. Its no Flygon nor is it a Dragonite and shouldn't be played as so. Unfortunately all Altaria has to distinguish itself from D-Nite is Mirror Move, though it actually comboes well with DD since it copies even supports like Nasty Plot and Hypnosis.

Another special option you may want to consider is Mantine which easily comes in on any of Ninetales moves and wipes the floor with it. It also has abit more general offensive usuage without upsetting your synergy and comes on those EQ's that Froslass detests though is weak to rock. If you opt for a Swift Swim version it even doubles as a decent special sweeper and Water Absorb version stops any Rain Dance sweep attempts. Mantine also scares alot of other water types from recklessly spamming HP Electric due to being able to survive and Mirror Coat it back.

Hypno and Grumpig actually wouldn't do much for you since Ninetales can pack Dark Pulse. Though Mr.Mime's Filter would negate that weakness.

On Kangaskhan do you really need that much defense? Kangaskhan doesn't hit as hard as most may think and you may be cutting it abit close with your offense.

I can't fault the choice of Aggron, Kangas and Rotom in general though, they do a superb job here maintaining a synergy. Hitmontop is always a welcome defensive addition to any team.

I'd agree with you that Altaria and Froslass are the weak links here, Altaria either needs a complete revamp or replacing. Froslass needs replacing period, Nidoking actually works well as does Toxicroak, Venomoth or even Drapion.

Another observation is that having some Reflect, Light Screen, Wish or BP support could make Aggron/Rotom/Kangaskhan more deadly than before. Something like a Calm Mind Claydol could replace Froslass and offer some special offense and screen support to bolster defenses. Or any other random Baton Passer like Mr. Mime, Gorebyss, Drifblim, Scyther, Absol or Girafarig.
