I love Qwilfish, and I love UU so I thought it would be fun to do a spotlight on him.
There are two main reasons as to use Qwilfish: Intimidate and Spikes. Intimidate allows for Qwilfish to be one of the best counters to Fighting and Fire Types in the tier as well as softening the blows of many Physical Attackers in the tier. However, the main reason why Qwilfish is used is its access to Spikes. With UU being as hazard-centric as it is, Qwilfish is bound to make a splash with its access to the move and its great bulk.
Electric Types are the bane of Qwilfish's existence, being able to hit him on his weaker special side. Although rarer, Psychic Types can do the same thing. In general, anything that can hit Qwilfish on his special side can deal significant damage unless its resisted.
Stall teams enjoy Qwil's bulk. Bulky offense as well. Other teams are too fast paced for Qwilfish and usually enjoy Froslass more.
