UU Stall team

Hi every1, i decided to make a UU stall team based around shuckle. So heres the team. Changes will be in bold

Team building process.
Ok so first thing i wanted was shuckle.

Next, i knew if i were to use this insane defender i needed it's best friends on the team, and every1 knows a shuckles best friends are bulky water, rapid spinner and and wish support. So i came up with Quagsire, hitmontop and chansey.

Next i knew there would be lots of switching in any battl i go in with this team so i needed dugtrio.

In depth look at the team.

449.png

The Lead
Hippotas@ focus sash
Abillity: sand stream
Nature impish
Evs 252 hp 252 def 4 sp.def
-Stealth rock
-Toxic
-Earthquake
-Roar

I chose this set on hippotas cause it was one f the best sets it could have with its role on the team, stealth rock for the entry hazards, since there will obviously be alot of switching, Yawn will cause alot of chaos to my opponent, toxic is to poison enemies early so shuckle doesn't have to do it later.Roar to get out enemies setting up or other reasons one would use roar. The item Focus sash is to make sure i always get stealth rock up.The evs are to try and make sure hippotas survives more than one physical hit the rest, just got dumped into sp.def.The nature is to get even more physically bulky, i almost went with relaxed but i didnt see any reason to slow hippotas down.

213.png

The insane defender
Shuckle@leftovers
Abillity gluttony
Nature impish
Evs 248hp 252 def 8SpD
-toxic
-encore
-protect
-rest

This guy is just so insane in defensive stats i had to try him! I have loved this pokemon ever since 2nd gen and still do, and now i finally found a way to make this guy work. The moveset fits in perfectly with this team toxic for the toxic stalling, encore to lock foes into moves they dont want to be locked into and cause some switching, protect to scout out the enemies and gets me free leftover revovery, and rest to heal this insane turtles hp back to full whenever he's in pain, i know some of you think rest without cesto berry or sleep talk is foolish, but i think you'll change your mind once you take a look at my chansey. The evs i've chosen work very well, 248 in hp is pretty cool on shuckle, with these hp evs shuckle has just enough hp to be a freaking wall, 252 def evs is to max out his defense so he is extreme in physical bulk, and the rest had no choice, but to go into SpD, i don't need much SpD evs for this guy to be a special wall because the sandstorm is going to boost his SpD to over 700, probably even higher than any blisseys hp will ever reach! Impish nature to get that def to over 600.

195.png

The Bulky Water.
Quagsire@leftovers
Abillity water absorb
Nature impish
Evs 252 hp 252 def 4 atk
-Recover
-Earthquake
-Ice Punch
-Encore

This thing is probably the best partner shuckle could ask for, Quagsire covers up each and every one of shuckles type weaknesses, and water absorb is really great help, imagine someone trying surf shuckle then Quagsire comes out there and heals on the hit, pretty cool. The moveset works pretty efficently recover to heal when getting in pain, earthquake is the main used attack, ice punch for if someone see's Quagsire come out and decides too switch into sceptile or venusaur while they switch the grass pokemon is hit with a super effective ice punch, and encore is pretty obvious, used to lock the foe into a move that they won't want to be locked into like mismagius subsitute for example. The impish nature max quagsire's defense get to a really bulky amount. The evs make this ting an impressive physical wall, 252 hp seriously helps this ting wall phsyical hits and so does the 252 def, and the rest got dumped into atk.

237.png

The Rapid Spinner.
Hitmontop@leftovers
Abillity intimidate
Nature Impish
Evs 252 hp 200 def 56 sp.def
-rapid spin
-foresight
-close combat
-Sucker pucnh

Another one of shuckles bets partners is a rapid spinner and i chose hitmontop cause it can spin on ghosts with foresight.Hitmontops moveset was the easiest to chose rapid spin because it is a rapid spinner foresight so if someone thinks switching into there mismagius or spiritomb will keep there entry nazards out they are dead wrong, rest to set that health straight back to full when hitmon is in pain, and i bet some of you find it foolish that i use rest without chesto berry or sleep talk, but just like i said about shuckle, you will understand once you see my chansey. The evs in hp are there to make this guy capable of survivng more hits and 252 in atk makes close comabt a powerful attack and the rest got thrown into def.Adamant nature boosts that attack to where i want it to be at.

113.png

The cleric Support
Chansey@leftovers
Nature calm
Evs 252 def 252 sp.def 4 spe
-wish
-protect
-heal bell
-seismec toss

This thing supports the team in so many ways and is another great shuckle partner.Wish heals chansey and the other team mates, protect is for if i am trying to heal chansey, heal bell wakes up shuckle and hitmontop after they use rest and any other status that ay hit the team, seismic toss is that chansey isn't completele usless against taunt. The max def evs are to give it better chnace at survivng at least 2 physical hits,sp.def evs too make it a freaking special wall, and the rest got thrown right into speed.

CHANSEY HAS BEEN REPLACED BY CLEFFABLE.
36.png

Cleffabe@leftovers
Nature calm
Abillity magic guard
Evs 252 def 252 SpD 4hp
-Wish
-Protect
-Seismiec toss
-Healbell

Shouldn't need a descriptiojn for cleffable, it's the exact same as chansey.

51.png

The Revenge Killer
Dugtrio@life orb
Abillity arena trap
Nature adamant
Evs 252 atk 252 spe 4hp
-Earthquake
-Stone edge
-Sucker punch
-Aerial ace

Dugtrio fits in the ost spot of this team so well since the opponent will be switching alot.Dugtrio's moveset is elementry earthquake the stab move, stone edge to hit what rock moves hit, sucker punch is the priority, and aerial ace is to hit venusaur and fighting types.Adamant over jolly nature because i think this guy is fast enough.Life orb gives me a really great damage boost. The evs were even more simple than the set, 252 atk to hit as hard as we can,252 spe to get fast as we can,and the rest just got dumped into hp.

DUGTRIO HAS BEEN REPLACED BY CRADILLY.
346.png

Cradilly@leftovers
Nature careful
Abillity suction cups
Evs 252 hp 252 spD 4 def
-Rest
-Sleep Talk
-Curse
-Rock Slide/seed bomb

Cradily has been working out so well in this team, lately it's been 6-0 sweeping teams(weird to 6-0 sweep using a stall team i know).Cradily works so well in sandstorm with curse+suction sups abillity.Cradily serves as my all time venusaur counter, all i have to do is switch in on venusaur and abosrb the sleep powder ad start talking in sleep till a wake up,then rest of the damage venusaur put in(if it was silly enough to stay in).Rest is here over recover because i don't want to see cradily with status, that would ruin my fun.Sleep talk to curse up even when resting,or after venusaur uses sleep powder, curse becuase it's a curse cradily. And rock slide is the attacking move, but i may replace it with seed bomb, but if i use seed bomb over rock slide i wont be able to work as a venusaur counter.Cradily has surprisingly been acting as the core of my team lately, the entire team always finds a way to help cradily set up 6 curse, and after i set up 6 curse it's basically game over for the opponent unless they have steelix ready to come in on the rock lsides and seriously resist.6+ rock slide can even handle registeels that come in thinking i'm going to switch when their registeel actually cant do nything at all to cradily after 6+curse, too show you what cradily will do against registeel after 6+curse i calculated the damage: rock slide on registeel: min 94 average 102 max 111 doesnt sound like much, but lets see what a registeels iron head would do: min 32 average 32 max 32. So now that we have the results, its safe to say cradily won that match up.

Well thats the team!

Threat

36.png

Clefable this thing is a complete counter to my team and seriously dissapoints me.

Clefable is really the only threat that i can't cover up for.

I had a similar team once, the weakness of it were mostly some rain dance teams, and toxic spikes, i mostly used a toxicroak to counter those + clefable, but sometimes it dosent work.
Miltank can counter clefable well, and so choice trickers.

I think you should get a drapion for the spikes + pursuit, so you can rapid spin better (by elimnating ghosts), and kill of some phychics on the way. It also gets rid of toxic spikes, and can whirldwind, but maybe the best for you, can set up toxic spikes, which would be great in your stall team.
I suggest a venusaur if you can't put drapion, atleast no annoying toxic spikes on you.

Drapion sounds good, but who would i replace?

Props for making a SandStall team, and I will say a couple things about it since I also use a SandStall team. I ‘m finding that your team is actually really good, and I also use Shuckle on my own SandStall team. It annoys the crap out of opponents, and it's almost impossible to kill. I do have a couple of suggestions, though. First, you might want to consider putting Sleep Talk over Protect, so it's not completely useless once it uses Rest. It might not always work, however, but it has saved my butt many times. Also, another idea that I have is putting Clefable over Chansey, while keeping the exact moveset and the Defense & Special Defense EVs. It won't be as effective at Special walling as Chansey, but Clefable isn't hurt by Sandstorm thanks to Magic Guard. Still, you should move the 4 Speed EVs to HP, as Clefable/Chansey (whichever you choose) isn't outspeeding anything. Finally, a possible idea is to switch Dugtrio's ability to Sand Veil. It seems odd, as it allows your opponent to switch their Pokemon, but there is a reason: To many people, Dugtrio=Arena Trap, and they will almost never even bother trying to switch, while Sand Veil lets Duggy avoid potential KOing moves. It's worked very well for me, and I think that you might want to try it. I hope my comments helped!

I might consider using cleffable, and using sand veil, but i'm keeping protect on shuckle because i dont find sleep talk helpful, once shuckle uses rest he switches to chansey and chansey uses heal bell and that turtle is back woke

Taunt rapes your lead, and your Shuckle as well
i know :( i plan to replace toxic on the lead with earthquake.

Drapion sounds good, but who would i replace?
Maybe Dugtrio, because he dosen't help you much against taunt weezing and misdreavus(who normally haves substitute), and these can easly destroy your team.

Weezing is still a pain though, maybe you need a solrock or claydol, to take him out aswell, maybe put claydoll and replace hitmontop, but then you will be really weak to rain teams.

Right first off I wanna say props for making a ss team.

After looking at your team the biggest weakness I a Taunt + NastyPlot/WOW mismagius can 6-0 this team easily.

To fix this problem I recommend the Utility Special Defender drapion set that can be seen here http://www.smogon.com/dp/pokemon/drapion

Now looking at the team it seems like dugtrio is just thrown in their with no actual purpose. Instead i recommend a rest talk cradily as seen here http://www.smogon.com/dp/pokemon/cradily

Finally I recommend using Earthquake over Yawn on hippopotas because it allows you to deal damage to taunters. You should also use a relaxed nature with 13 spe iv's on hippopotas to underspeed snover, so you get SS up.

Oh sorry

I'd recommend swapping drapion for shuckle.

no shuckle seriously? i'll try it. even tho i dont like the idea of not having shuckle.

Edit: if i do that i wont be able to poison stuff that levitates or i flying, and what if the toxic spikes get rapid sinned? i need shuckle on this team.

When making a stall team one of the most important things is to be able to deal with common stall breakers such as Blaziken, Magmortar, Nidoking, Absol, etc.

Currently, you have absolutely no Pokemon who can switch into any of these threats besides Absol who you've covered with Hitmontop. SD Blaziken in particular poses a major threat, especially if it has Superpower. I'd drop Shuckle for something that's immune or resistant to Fighting. Any fast Ghost-type like Rotom or Mismagius can switch-in on Blaziken's Superpower and finish it off with a STAB Thunderbolt or Shadow Ball respectively.

But if i drop shuckle, my lead is the only pokemon with toxic, and the lead is going to get deafeted very easily.

I dont really know much about stall, but I'd like to suggest that you change the EV spread of Hitmontop to HP 252/Def 200/Sp.Def 56 with an impish nature since (In my opinion) he is very offensively EV'd for a stall team, and since Cleffable has Wish I'd drop Rest and give Hitmontop Sucker Punch as well. And I'm not really sure if you should take your chances with Quagsire's Ice Punch, predicting a grass type, for all you know Blaziken or Moltres might switch in.

i'll try these changes, thanks

Hippo wants Protect over Toxic to preserve its Sash against Fake Out leads, check for Choiced moves, and stall out posion/SS damage even further. If you play smart, hippo can last for quite a long time to reset SS against other weather teams.

You definitely want Toxic Spikes on your 'stall' team, and Drapion with its utility of Pursuit and ability to set and absorb TS needs to be on your team. I suggest the moveset of:
- Pursuit
- Toxic Spikes
- Knock Off
- Taunt
252HP/252DEF/4SPE

As mentioned above, various wallbreakers such as Blaziken run circles around your team, and as such I recommend Specially Defensive Hariyama - though he admittedly cant reliably switch in to Blaziken, he at least prevents him from running through your team. Yama also destroys Clefable. Milotic or Slowbro would also be an excellent addition to your team as bulky Waters replacing Quagsire, providing Toxic support for Flying-types and also not being 4x weak to Grass - your team cant really take them and Milotic can at least eat a Power Whip and KO back with Ice Beam (against things like Tangrowth)

Just suggestions to peruse at your leisure.

i really want to add drapion to this team, i just don't know who to replace,
i would replace shuckle for drapion but then what would be the point of the sandstorm? I'll try the milotic tho.
