Vanilluxe @ Light Clay
Ability: Snow Warning
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Freeze-Dry
- Ice Beam / Aurora Veil
- Blizzard
- Toxic
Vanilluxe's highest stat is it's special attack, which this set specialises in. Snow Warning allows it to set up Hail, whether as a backup hailsetter in a pinch or to make sure Blizzard always hit the foe, which Light Clay extends. Freeze-Dry allows it to hit Water-types like Gyarados more effectively. Ice Beam mostly provides a STAB move, but can be replaced by Aurora Veil in a pinch if Alolan Ninetales is knocked out, paralysed, sleeping, or forced to switch out. Toxic poisons the opponent,, allowing more powerful teammates like Galarian Darmanitan to switch in and pick these weakened foes off.
As a budget Alolan Ninetales in emergency scenarios, this set allows Vanilluxe to set up Aurora Veil, while Snow Warning with Light Clay allows it to set up during the first turn and extend it.
