Venomicon is an incredibly dangerous sweeper due to its bulk and near-perfect coverage. Venomicon is exceedingly good at wearing down the opposing team with its powerful Hurricane and by forcing switches. Earth Power provides great coverage alongside Hurricane, hitting Heatran, Toxapex, Melmetal, Magnezone, and Tapu Koko super effectively. Roost, in conjunction with Stamina, allows Venomicon to beat most physical attackers, including ones that can hit it super effectively like Zeraora and Thunder Punch Melmetal.

Venomicon fits best on balance teams that enjoy its great defensive value and ability to reliably set up and sweep. Venomicon often forces Tapu Lele in, so Steel-types like Ferrothorn, specially defensive Heatran, and Equilibra are good partners. Because Venomicon struggles to break through Zapdos and Rotom-W, Landorus-T and Colossoil are absolutely amazing partners to bait in and cripple them with Toxic and Knock Off. Venomicon forces many switches over the course of a match; accordingly, entry hazards from Astrolotl and Garchomp help Venomicon capitalize on its threatening presence, notably wearing down Tapu Lele. Venomicon can falter against Meteor Beam offense teams, so partners like Assault Vest Melmetal and Zeraora are appreciated. Venomicon provides quite a bit of defensive potential alongside its sweeping ability; a common strategy is to pair it with other bulky setup sweepers that provide complementary defensive qualities like Tapu Fini, Dragonite, and bulky Volcarona. Tapu Fini, in particular, enjoys Venomicon's ability to check Grass-types like Rillaboom and Kartana, as do other Water-types like Slowbro and Arghonaut. Venomicon's special bulk enables teams to run less-consistent answers to special wallbreakers like Dragapult such as Melmetal and Corviknight.

Other Options
====
Mystical Fire is an option over Earth Power to hit Zapdos neutrally and Corviknight, Ferrothorn, Celesteela super effectively; however, it is largely useless outside of these matchups, and Venomicon can generally beat Corviknight and Ferrothorn one-on-one without it. A Life Orb set with maximum Special Attack and HP can put in some work on Trick Room teams, but Trick Room as a whole is somewhat gimmicky.

Checks and Counters
====
**Electric-types**: Zapdos and Rotom-W completely wall Venomicon and force it out with their Electric STAB moves. Venomicon can easily tank Volt Switch from both, so make sure to run Discharge or Thunderbolt. Tapu Koko can KO Venomicon after some minor chip damage, but it cannot take it out from full and is OHKOed by +2 Earth Power.

**Psychic-types**: Offensive Psychic types like Necrozma and Tapu Lele can consistently force Venomicon out; however, Timid Choice Scarf Tapu Lele does not OHKO Venomicon with Psychic. Slowking and Galarian Slowking possess the special bulk and longevity necessary to switch into Venomicon repeatedly; Slowking can setup Future Sight on it and safely pivot in a wallbreaker with Teleport, while Galarian Slowking can either setup Future Sight or force Venomicon out with Psychic.

**Meteor Beam Sweepers**: Nihilego, Stratagem, and Celesteela all force Venomicon out with Meteor Beam. Stratagem and Celesteela are not bothered by any of Venomicon's attacks, and Celesteela can further use Venomicon as setup fodder.

**Encore Astrolotl**: Though it is not a totally consistent check, Astrolotl can make Venomicon less threatening by locking it into Hurricane or Nasty Plot with Encore.

**Knock Off**: Venomicon relies on Heavy-Duty Boots to repeatedly switch onto the field, especially since it is often tasked with checking Pokemon like Landorus-T and Tapu Fini. Accordingly, Knock Off from Pokemon that can bait it in like the aforementioned Landorus-T and Tapu Fini, as well as Kartana and Clefable, hurts Venomicon's longevity and reduces its chances of sweeping with Nasty Plot.

**Tapu Lele**: Tapu Lele is the best offensive check to Venomicon in the tier, as its powerful Psychic forces Venomicon out. It should be noted that Choice Scarf Tapu Lele does not OHKO Venomicon with Psychic if it is not Modest.

**Electric-types**: Zapdos and Rotom-W completely wall Venomicon and force it out with their Electric STAB moves if rotom is running hydro/volt/wisp it's a pretty ineffective check, so note that you need something like NP, discharge, or twave to do anything of use. Tapu Koko can KO Venomicon if it has been properly chipped, but it cannot take it out from full and is OHKOed by +2 Earth Power.

**Slowking and Galarian Slowking**: Slowking and Galarian Slowking possess the special bulk and longevity necessary to switch into Venomicon repeatedly. try to fit encore astrolotl in here, it's not a hard counter or anything but is still splashable counterplay

Unsure if its worth mentioning its special bulk letting it semi-blanket stuff like pult? Its a fair bit of what makes it nice with AV melm.

Mystical Fire is an option over Earth Power to hit Zapdos neutrally and Corviknight, Ferrothorn, Celesteela super effectively; however, it is largely useless outside of these matchups, and Venomicon-E can generally beat Corviknight and Ferrothorn one-on-one without it. Potentially worth mentioning Knock; can force it into 2hko thresholds that stamina would otherwise let it avoid.
