Venture through UU

Hi folks. This is my first UU team that I'm writing about. I made this about a few months ago. I went 20 - 5 with it, before the ladder got reset, even going on a 16 game winning streak, which was pretty awesome. This was also the first UU team I made that I stuck with. Without much further ado, I present to you my UU Team, Venture through UU.

Watermelon (Crobat) @ Black Sludge
Trait: Inner Focus
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 176 HP / 192 Atk / 4 SDef / 136 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Brave Bird
- Taunt
- Roost
- U-turn

This is the standard stallbreaker set. Crobat can lead the team sometimes, to stop the first turn SR. Crobat also carries so much utility for the team, it's hard to put into words. There's really not much to say about him, other than the fact that he's amazing.

Donatello (Blastoise) (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Torrent
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Def / 252 HP / 4 SAtk
Bold Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Scald
- Roar
- Toxic

Blastoise is probably the most replaceable and also the least replaceable member of this team at the same time. Rapid Spin is crucial for me to be able to clean up with Darmanitan mid-late game. On the other hand, I feel as though there are better bulky Water-types for me to use, such as Slowbro or Suicune. Besides that, Blastoise is there to tank all the physical hits for the team. Roar was chosen over Dragon Tail mainly because I want to be able to phaze through subs. Blastoise has great synergy with Roserade and Darmanitan, forming a nice little FWG core. Blastoise's main goal is to keep hazards off the field for either Darmanitan or Raikou to sweep later.

Talk shit get hit (Darmanitan) (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Sheer Force
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 SDef
Jolly Nature
- Flare Blitz
- U-turn
- Rock Slide
- Superpower

This guy is a monster. He is quite possibly my favorite member on this team. I feel that Choice Scarf Darmanitan is one of the best late game cleaners in the entire tier. Flare Blitz is self explanatory, it wrecks. U-turn is great for scouting and it does decent damage. Superpower is there to 2HKO Snorlax and Rock Slide rounds out the coverage nicely. The goal is to scout a bit with Darmanitan early and then bring him in to clean up at the end.

Juliet (Roserade) (F) @ Black Sludge
Trait: Natural Cure
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 234 SDef / 20 Spd
Calm Nature
- Spikes
- Giga Drain
- Rest
- Sludge Bomb

Roserade is another great utility Pokemon. She provides the only form of entry hazards for my team, since I don't have a Stealth Rock setter... She has great synergy with the rest of my team, and also makes a good status absorber. Spikes are great and even just one layer changes some 3HKOs into 2HKOs. Roserade is also good for softening up those bulky Waters and it does great against Gligar.

Dragonfly (Flygon) @ Choice Band
Trait: Levitate
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Jolly Nature
IVs: 30 Atk / 30 Def
- U-turn
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Fire Punch

This was originally a Swords Dance Heracross but Heracross just wasn't hitting hard enough right off the bat. It was soon replaced with this magnificent beast, CB Flygon. While his stats may seem average, this guy breaks walls down like you wouldn't believe, opening up the path for either a Darmanitan sweep or a Raikou sweep, or just outright ending it by itself. U-turn is good for the early game, and does good damage when backed by Choice Band. Earthquake is standard. Fire Punch is solely here for Bronzong, but more often then not I predict the switch and U-turn out to Darmanitan. I have to be careful with Outrage, since Flygon is easily revenge killed without a Scarf. I tried Scarf here for a while, but Flygon wasn't doing enough without its Choice Band and it was redundant with Choice Scarf Darmanitan.

liger (Raikou) @ Leftovers
Trait: Pressure
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 Def
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Substitute
- Calm Mind
- Hidden Power [Ice]

Raikou was originally Curselax but I realized I had too many physical hitters, so I replaced him with Raikou. Raikou is my second real win condition. Sub CM is so potent and can come in mid game to just set up and sweep thanks to the rest of the team. Raikou has great synergy with Darmanitan, breaking down the Water-types that impede its sweep. Raikou is also my go to Togekiss counter, as Togekiss can't do much to it, while Raikou outspeeds and gets the KO with Thunderbolt. The moveset is self explanatory for Sub CM Raikou. Hidden Power Grass can be used over Ice but I haven't tested it out yet.

Well, that concludes my first UU RMT. I hope you guys enjoyed it and I would really appreciate some feedback on this. Thanks for reading!

This team is very close to perfect, but there's one weak link, and I think you know what that is as well - Blastoise. This team has such awesome momentum and constant offensive pressure except for Blastoise, who just sucks all the momentum out of the air as soon as you switch it in. This team doesn't really need spin support that badly - you've got only one poke weak to it and a couple of resists as well. Sure, SR + 3 Spikes + TSpikes will hurt, but if you can provide enough offensive pressure (which this team can), your opponent won't have a way to get them up.

There are a couple things you could replace it with. You could maintain your FWG core and add something like a Specs Slowbro, or you could go another route and prevent hazards a different way with a suicide lead. In this manner, you could perhaps run a Suicide lead spiker Froslass and replace Roserade with a more offensive LO set or switch it out for Shaymin.

Overall though, this team is really solid and fun-looking. Best of luck and good job :)

Team's pretty dope and straightforward...I dunno what really needs to be said, the team's got all the good stuff going on. I guess for Blastoise you could try RestTalk Roar Suicune, if you're up for replacing it:

245.gif

Hard To Kill Jerkface (Suicune) @ Leftovers
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
IVs: 0 Atk
Bold Nature
- Scald
- Roar
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

Pretty annoying Poke to take down, you trade Blastoise's utility as a spinner for the ability to phaze and recover a bit more effectively, for the sake of longevity. But I mean, even then it's really a personal choice in my opinion.

Also, what is this?

330.gif

Dragonfly (Flygon) @ Choice Band
Trait: Levitate
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Jolly Nature
IVs: 30 Atk / 30 Def <-- Any specific reason to run these IVs on Flygon? Or was it a Mienshao with HP Ice at one point or something?
- U-turn
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Fire Punch

You have a weakness to Sub CM Raikou and a shakiness with electrics in general. An even bigger problem is you have nothing to set up rocks. I'd recommend Blastoise -> Swampert or maybe even something like Flygon -> Rhyperior.

Thanks for the reviews, people! All of you are basically telling me the same thing, to replace Blastoise.
Brobat, I'm going to test out that Suicune set, it seems like a good idea. Also, you're right, it used to be a Scarf Mienshao and I guess I forgot to fix the IVs. Thanks for pointing that out, I never would have noticed otherwise.
Lovelace, I'm going to test out Swampert, it seems like a good idea.
