So I am brand new to the Pokemon competitive scene. I've known about it for a while, tried to dabble in it, but just ended up quitting extremely fast. Then I heard about pokemon showdown (like a month ago) and it rekindled my fire to battle imaginary animals. I appreciate any and all suggestions given, sorry in advance for anyone who types a wall of text to help me out.
-DISCLAIMER-
This team is composed of pokemon that I enjoy using, so if any of the choices seem off, that's why. Once again, chances are this team is not very viable.
The Team.
GOZILLA (Tyranitar) @ Choice Band
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 80 HP / 252 Atk / 176 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Stone Edge
- Crunch
- Pursuit
- Earthquake
Ttar has always been one of my favorites. This set in particular is really fun. Depending on the opposing team it can be a fantastic lead as you can pursuit against a favorable matchup. I chose to run EQ over the likes of fire punch for Toxapex and Heatran, and Stone Edge and Crunch are pretty self explanatory. I considered using assault vest over choice band, but again I needed something to take care of pex and heatran so i banded him up.

4Head (Excadrill) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Sand Rush
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Rapid Spin
- Iron Head
Sand Rush Excadrill is not only a fantastic offensive poke, but paired with a focus sash it can guarantee stealth rocks as well. I use Ttar and Exca to pivot and gain some momentum, and they pair fantastically together. Their stabs cover a lot of types, and they can deal with some very annoying threats. The stealth rocks are self explanatory, and you can never go wrong with EQ. I chose to run rapid spin, so I can get rid of hazards when predicting a switch. Iron Head is for those pesky Tapu's and Clefairy, both of which can be very hard to deal with.

Cancer (Toxapex) (F) @ Black Sludge
Ability: Regenerator
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 248 HP / 64 Def / 196 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Haze
- Recover
- Toxic
I absolutely hate fighting against toxapex, it is by far the most annoying thing in the meta for me...but I also rather like using it. My team really needed a wall so I chose the obvious answer. The set I chose is used to combat stall (with toxic) as well as Haze away some pokes tying to set up. There really isn't much to say other than that, Toxapex is just really really REALLY good and it pisses me off.

Mad Cow (Tapu Bulu) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Grassy Surge
EVs: 248 HP / 60 Atk / 56 SpD / 144 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Horn Leech
- Wood Hammer
- Superpower
- Nature's Madness
I don't know why, but I REALLY like using tanky offensive pokemon with self-sustain (similar set with Conkeldurr, Drain Punch, AV). This mon is just a really solid pick, and easily my favorite tapu. Looking around at the most used Bulu sets, this is the one that I saw the best results with and the one that I thought I would enjoy using the most. Obviously, Horn Leech is used for that good old self sustain, and Wood Hammer is used for a semi-nuke. Superpower is there for coverage (thinking about switching it for something else) and Nature's Madness is for predicting a switch and getting some guaranteed damage.

Magic Mike (Lopunny-Mega) (M) @ Lopunnite
Ability: Scrappy
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Fake Out
- Return
- High Jump Kick
- Quick Attack
Mega Loppuny is arguably one of the best megas in OU right now, and its not that hard to see why. You switch in, Fake Out, and either hit it again or switch out with something more suitable. I chose this set to try and combat really fast sweepers, as with fake out and quick attack you can completely delete mega Alakazam, Tapu Koko, Geninja, etc. Overall just one of the best offensive pokes in OU right now.

Two Chainz (Zapdos) @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 200 Def / 56 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Discharge
- Roost
- Heat Wave
- Defog
This is the pokemon that I am most uncertain about on this team. I wanted something that can really shut down Rain (as the rest of the team is clearly weak to rain) but I am just overall unsure about using Zapdos as a whole. Either way, the set I went for is a bulky, long lasting set. It plays more of a supportive role, using defog to get rid of Toxic Spikes and Stealth Rocks, but can also hit fairly hard using Discharge (with a decent chance of paralyzing too) and Heatwave for some coverage (and again, a chance at a burn).
So that's the team, if it sucks please tell me what I can do to make it better, any and all suggestions are helpful and thank you to everyone who read this. Have a good one!
