Hey guys, this is my first RMT, so it'd be good if I could get any advice on it. OK, let's start.
Tyranitar@ Smooth Rock
Ability: Sand Stream
-Rock Polish
-Crunch
-Rock Slide
-Protect
Adamant Nature
EVs: 252 Atk, 252 Spe, 4HP
Tyranitar is the sand setter of this team. While it doesn't like it's Fighting weakness, it still is bulky with the 50% SDef boost. this means it can live things such as offensive Rotom-W's Hydro Pump. It also is a brilliant counter for Mega Kangaskhan; it can Protect first turn to avoid Fake Out, resists Return and can live an Earthquake. Rock Polish is so that it can boost its sweeping potential to outspeed Pokemon like Mega Charizard (X or Y), which could otherwise KO before it hits them. Rock Slide is the main STAB which also functions as a spread move and Crunch lets it hit Psychic types like Reuniclus and Meowstic-M. Protect is pretty much mandatory, as it allows it to stall and avoid super effective moves.
Garchomp@ Garchompite
Ability: Rough Skin/Sand Force
-Dragon Claw
-Earthquake
-Rock Slide
-Iron Head
Jolly Nature
EVs: 252 Atk, 252 Spe, 4HP
Garchomp is the main sweeper of the team. Sand Force boosted Earthquake 2HKOs almost everything it comes across (apart from Levitaters and Flying types, of course). Mega Evolution can be delayed to help whittle down Mega Kangaskahn with Rough Skin. Dragon Claw is used over Outrage so that you don't get locked into it when Fairy types are on the field. Speaking of Fairies, Iron Head is there to hit them super effectively and Rock Slide is used in combination with Tyranitar so that you can hit the opponents 4 times in the same turn (2 each).
Charizard@ Lum Berry
Ability: Blaze
-Heat Wave
-Air Slash
-Dragon Pulse
-Hidden Power Grass
Timid Nature
EVs: 252 SpA, 252 Spe, 4HP
Charizard is the glue for my team. Heat Wave is yet another spread move, but a more powerful one at that. Air Slash provides a good alternate STAB, and the flinch rate is very helpful. Dragon Pulse is subject to change, but can work well against common Dragon types like Garchomp and Salamence. Hidden Power Grass is used over Solar Beam because you can't afford to wait a turn in such a fast-paced metagame. Also, it hits Azumarill better than anything else.
Rotom-W@ Assault Vest
Ability: Levitate
-Volt Switch
-Thunderbolt
-Hydro Pump
-Hidden Power Ice
Modest Nature
EVs: 252 SpA, 252 Spe, 4 HP
Assault Vest is my favourite new item this generation, and it works brilliantly with the possessed washing machine. It boosts its already good SDef to such high levels that it doesn't even need investment. Thunderbolt is the main STAB. While Discharge may seem more appealing, after Garchomp is down it will hit your Pokemon as well. Volt Switch allows it to keep momentum, Hidden Power Ice hits Grass types and Hydro Pump is the alternate STAB, although the shaky accuracy isn't desired.
Nidoking@ Life Orb
Ability: Sheer Force
-Earth Power
-Sludge Bomb
-Ice Beam
-Thunderbolt
Timid Nature
EVs: 252 SpA, 252 Spe, 4 HP
Honestly, as much as I like this set, this is the Pokemon most subject to change. The Sheer Force-Life Orb combination is deadly as Sheer Force negates Life Orb recoil but you still get the power boost. Earth Power is brilliant, OHKOing Mega Mawile and Mega Aggron (although the latter is rare). Sludge Bomb is used over Sludge Wave due to none of the team is immune to Poison. Ice Beam and Thunderbolt are mainly coverage, but they can net important KOs.
Amoongus@ Mental Herb
Ability: Effect Spore
-Spore
-Rage Powder
-Giga Drain
-Protect
Calm Nature
EVs: 252 HP, 252 SDef, 4 Def
Amoongus: Back from VGC 2011, the toxic 'shroom is still as potent as ever. Spore is still as game-breaking as before, basically cancelling out a Pokemon for the entire match. Rage Powder allows you to draw attacks away from your other Pokemon, Giga Drain means that you're not Taunt bait after the Mental Herb is gone and Protect lets it stall even harder. the EVs allow it to sponge attacks from Rage Powder like a boss, and Effect Spore can be a match-winner provided that it takes effect.
So that's my team. I hope you like it and that you can help me improve it further!
Peace out, guys.
