Bringing the old bugs back with a few good nominations....or, should I say, BEEEEEEEEESSSSSSS!!!!!: :cutiefly: :ribombee: :combee: :vespiquen: (Vespiquen gets back Heal Order, gains Poison Jab, regains Honey Gather as a secondary ability, (While Combee gets Cute Charm as a secondary ability) and gets +30 to Speed, which was what was holding it back)

Since Vespiquen already is a Bug type, Honey Gather wouldn't be very useful on it since it can already use Honey.

- Golisopod: As much as I like Araquanid, I believe it's high time we give Golisopod a chance to shine. Modify its ability to ensure it only switches out after it has attacked (assuming it's HP falls to 50% or below) and add Upper Hand and Wave Crash. Alternatively, if we do not modify Emergency Exit, you could still add these moves to Golisopod and turn it into the "Urshifu" of the format but much more reasonable to deal with given its atrocious speed. Give it a new ability that almost works the same as Unseen Fist but if a Pokémon tries to protect itself from an attack through moves like Protect, it only receives 25% of the original damage of the attacker with this ability. This balanced approach mirrors Z-Move and Dynamax moves. Furthermore, this allows Golisopod to spam priority moves much better, notably its original signature move First Impression! Being a Pokémon that can hit through stall moves (Protet, Detect, etc.), this ought to give Golisopod some huge value on a team, but its dualtype is nowwhere near as potent as Water/Fighting or Dark/Fighting, making it therefore much more balanced.
[/spoiler]

Your suggestions for Emergency Exit fall nicely under this week's discussion topic. As for its new ability, would you object to it being called Armor Piercer?

And here are my creations
Name: Locilackey (convergent evolution of Wishiwashi)
Type: Bug / Rock
Ability: Schooling
Base stats: 45 / 20 / 20 / 25 / 25 / 40 (175 BST solo forme) 45 / 140 / 130/ 140 / 135 / 30 (620 BST school forme)
Useful moves
Physical: First Impression, Attack Order, Leech Life, U-turn, Accelerock, Rock Slide, Headlong Rush, Bulldoze, Body Press
Special: Bug Buzz, Power Gem, Crystal Cleanse, Earth Power (Crystal Cleanse. Type: Rock. BP: 70. Max PP: 16. Heals 50% of the damage done. Hits both opponents
Status: Defend Order, Helping Hand
Weight: 0.1 (solo) 150.1 (school)
Gender: Both
Competitive use: Great tank and Trick Room sweeper, however unlike base Wishiwashi this thing's access to STAB priority makes it more useful outside Trick Room (it can even be used to check opposing Trick Room teams) and its access to healing moves on both sides of the attacking spectrum give it an easier time staying in its School form.
Is it broken? It's still very slow, and while it only has 3 weaknesses, 2 of them are pretty common, so it will need careful support to bring out its best stuff. Plus if you can bring it below 25% HP, it's basically worthless.

Name: Sprixief
Type: Ghost / Fairy
Ability: Magician / Undermine / Prankster. Undermine: drops both opponent's Special Attack by 1 stage upon switching in.
Base stats: 65 / 75 / 80 / 60 / 50 / 90 (420 BST)
Useful moves
Physical: Spirit Break, Shadow Sneak, Poltergeist, Foul Play
Special: Hex, Shadow Ball, Moonblast, Dazzling Gleam
Status: Taunt, Trick Room, Swagger, Flatter, Will-o-WIsp, Thunder Wave, Screech, Encore, Disable
Weight: 44
Gender: Both
Competitive use: It's a support / utility Pokemon, able to both cripple its opponents and help its teammates. It has speed control with Thunder Wave and Trick Room, and with Bug types now being immune to confusion it can aid its Bug type friends with Swagger and Flatter.
Is it broken? That bulk is pretty bad, and base 90 Speed isn't setting the world on fire. It also really wishes it could run 2 abilities - Prankster is very helpful, but then so is Undermine, and without the latter almost every neutral special move will ohko it - its special bulk is barely better than Deo-N.

Should old abilities be buffed?
Yes! Small change, but I think Blaze and its variants should now all trigger at 50.0% health and below.

Returning old Pokemon
Gastrodon - No changes
Orbeetle. +10 HP (up to base 70) New Ability: Hypergravity (replaces Frisk). Summons Gravity upon switching in with full HP.

I don't mind the name Armor Piercer! As for Gravitas Orbeetle, which is an excellent idea given its typing, flavour, and support movepool, I am very familiar with this ability and know it can cause balance issues, especially with regard to sleep moves, such as Hypnosis, Grass Whistle, or Sing, to name a few. This is an introduction that needs to be carefully monitored. For instance, we might need to ensure we have good sleep protection, such as a good Misty Terrain setter (Vaporeon or Lapras could be a potential user of Misty Surge). It's also possible we may need to remove sleep moves from certain Pokémon if they are strong abusers of them. Optionally, I could see Gravitas requiring a conditional element--such as a user of the ability needing to replace a fainted Pokémon--to make it more balanced. Just sth to bear in mind when introducing Gravitas. Also, I know the name Gravitas can cause some coding issues since there's a G Max move or sth that has the same name as the ability. You may want to give a different name to the ability or solve this issue differently.

Thanks for the feedback, have adjusted it so it now only works if Orbeetle has full HP when it switches in. It's also now called Gravitation.

Name: Crystallion (Crystal + Stallion)
Type: Rock
Abilities: Simple / Emerald Energy (The user’s moves bypass any turns needed to charge)
Base stats: 75/65/49/75/65/74 (403 BST)
Useful moves:
Physical: Diamond Storm, Heavy Slam, Gunk Shot, High Horsepower, Rock Slide, Stone Edge
Special: Meteor Beam, Electro Shot, Solar Beam, Earth Power, Power Gem, Sludge Bomb, Flash Cannon
Status: Victory Dance, Protect, Calm Mind
Weight: 600kg
Gender: both
Competitive use: Crystallion can act as both a physical or special attacker with either of its abilities, with Simple allowing for Victory Dance to setup easily and patch up its bad stats, while using its high BP moves and Diamond Storm to be a threatening sweeper. Simple can also be used alongside Calm Mind to be a special setup sweeper, possibly running Meteor Beam alongside it to get two Special Attack boosts. Alternatively, Emerald Energy allows it to spam Meteor Beam, Electro Shot, and Solar Beam without needing to charge, opening options in item choices and letting it accrue boosts as it attacks. Crystallion also synergises well with Matokoda, as it redirects and resists attacks that Crystallion is weak to. It gives Crystallion opportunities to set up with the aforementioned redirection and Fake Out.
Is it broken?: Crystallion is very frail when not having its bulk bolstered by boosts, and is notably slower and weak to both Matokoda and Delphynan, meaning it’d need some sort of speed control to outspeed them.
Size: 3 metres
Egg group: Field
Appearance: A horse with lots of different crystals and jewels embedded into its body
Pokedex: Crystallion draws on the power of its jewels to strike fear into the hearts of those who oppose it.

Again, full movepools if they win

Name: Snailord (Snail + Lord)

Type: Bug/Dragon
Abilities: Shell Armor / Oblivious // Sand Rush
Base Stats: 80/130/160/120/70/40 (BST: 600)

Movepool: Gravity, Megahorn, Dragon Rush, Dragon Pulse, Dragon Claw, Draco Meteor, Earthquake, Bulldoze, Roost, Air Slash, Hurricane, Dragon Dance, Bug Buzz, String Shot, Struggle Bug, Muddy Water, Surf, Hydro Pump

Weight: 300 kg
Gender: 50% male, 50% female
Design: Snail with draconic features such as wings and horns

Competitive: Snailord is a threat to behold, boasting 130/120/40 offenses backed with strong potential with physical, special, and mixed sets. It can run DD sets but 40 speed is rather pitiful, even if you back it with Sand Rush. The main intention of Snailord is Gravity. Gravity allows Snailord to Throw out strong but inaccurate moves, which Snailord has plenty of (Megahorn, Dragon Rush, Draco Meteor, Hurricane, Muddy Water, Hydro Pump) and being able to hit Flying-type threats with Earthquake/Bulldoze. The dangers of EQ and Gravity are pretty clear being you can't run a Flying partner to be immune. This insentivises Matokoda as a partner due to Telepathy being one of the few ways to be immune to the EQ damage. Or you can just run Muddy Water instead of EQ, ignoring your partner and blasting foes and haxing them out, though Gravity helps nullify that hax.

Name: Arecabara (Capybara + Arecaceae)

Type: Ground/Grass
Abilities: Rough Skin / Chlorophyll // Swim Swim
Base Stats: 65/75/90/85/65/40 (BST: 420)

Movepool: Shore Up, Iron Defense, Body Press, Wood Hammer, Seed Bomb, Earthquake, Bulldoze, Earth Power, Energy Ball, Solar Beam, Solar Blade, Weather Ball, Thunder, Thunderbolt, Agility, Trailblaze, Calm Mind, Swords Dance, Hammer Arm, Curse, Leech Seed, Substitute, Toxic, Gravity, Sunny Day, Stealth Rock, Rain Dance, Trick Room, Rapid Spin, Bounce, Thunder Wave, Fissure, Perish Song, Block, Flip Turn

Weight: 35 kg
Gender: 50% male, 50% female
Design: Coconut Capybara with a palm leaf hat

Competitive: Arecabara is an extremely versatile threat that packs a rediculous number of sets it can run. Defensive wall, SubSeed Staller, Pivot, Perish Trapper, Set-Up Sweeper (physically or specially), Weather Sweeper, and more. Trick Room sets to take advantage of that 40 speed, to ID Body Press sets that can be comboed with Rough Skin, Recover, and Leech Seed. It can even run Fissure if you want to be funny.

Ball Fetch
Effect: This Pokemon's Spe is raised by 1 when a Ballistic move is used.
Justification: Balls

Cute Charm
Effect: This Pokemon takes 50% damage from moves of its own type.
Justification: Takes a more RNG ability and makes it a unique ability that provides extra defensive potential.

Alolan Muk. Just Alolan Muk. No changes. Just vanilla Alolan Muk.

Acrobatics, Acupressure, Assurance, Aurora Beam, Avalanche, Blast Burn, Blaze Kick, Blizzard, Body Press, Body Slam, Brutal Swing, Burn Up, Calm Mind, Confide, Counter, Curse, Dark Pulse, Darkest Lariat, Double Kick, Double Team, Double-Edge, Ember, Endure, Facade, False Swipe, Fire Blast, Fire Pledge, Fire Punch, Fire Spin, Flame Burst, Flame Charge, Flamethrower, Flare Blitz, Fling, Focus Energy, Foul Play, Freeze-Dry, Frost Breath, Fury Attack, Giga Impact, Gravity, Grudge, Hail, Hammer Arm, Head Smash, Headbutt, Heat Crash, Heat Wave, Helping Hand, Horn Attack, Hyper Beam, Ice Beam, Ice Hammer, Ice Punch, Ice Shard, Ice Spinner, Icicle Crash, Icy Wind, Incinerate, Iron Defense, Lava Plume, Leer, Magic Coat, Mean Look, Mega Kick, Metronome, Overheat, Protect, Psycho Cut, Recycle, Refreeze, Rest, Retaliate, Scary Face, Seismic Toss, Sleep Talk, Snore, Stomp, Strength, Substitute, Sunny Day, Swagger, Switcheroo, Swords Dance, Tackle, Taunt, Temper Flare, Tera Blast, Thrash, Throat Chop, Torment, Toxic, Weather Ball, Wide Guard, Will-O-Wisp, Work Up

Subs later if I have ideas maybe

Discussion Topic:
Despite being the one who came up with the topic, I actually didn't have too many things in mind when it comes to buffing past gen abilities, but I still thought that it'd be an interesting prospect since a lot of the most significant buffs in VGC history are because of ability buffs, namely Inner Focus and Sturdy. For a couple ideas (which should be treated as separate subs):
- Steadfast - Now also grants Intimidate immunity - Nothing major since the ability is still just a worse Inner Focus and most of the mons with it likely don't use it, but it makes flavor sense, gives another Intimidate-immune ability we can give new Pokemon, and making stuff actually use it can lead to the interesting interactions/mindgames it has with Fake Out actually happening sometimes
- Rivalry - Instead of its previous effects, now causes the Pokemon to deal 1.25x damage to foes that share a type - Like PalpitoadChamp's Cute Charm sub, this uses an element from a SylveMons mod in order to make gender not a factor in battles, since whether gender-based mechanics or strategies work can often feel random when it's not Gen 5 Rivalry Haxorus against the genies
- Leaf Guard - Now acts like Flower Veil, but instead of only affecting Grass-types, it now affects all types of Pokemon but only when Sun is active - This is still pretty mid compared to other Sun abilities like Chlorophyll or Solar Power, but Leaf Guard being able to provide some nice utility and giving physical attackers a free Clear Amulet in Sun makes it a much more appealing option than before

Returning Pokemon:
Flamigo + Drill Peck - Just a really fun mon to use with either Costar shenanigans or Scrappy sets with hard-to-stop Feints and Close Combats
Arbok + Parting Shot, Taunt, & Helping Hand - We'll definitely add better Intimdate mons later, but Arbok makes for a decent first one, having basically everything you'd want in a Pokemon except stats, having a great movepool and a good defensive typing to help it perform its support roles

Max base stat of 90 on the low stats mon, if you take 5 out of Def and put it in another stat that will be great.

OK everyone, it's voting time! Vote for your 1 favourite Pokemon of each category. You may not vote for any of your own Pokemon.

Why go for one insect...when you can make two?
Big Insect:

Name: Phlocules (Phloeodes + Hercules)
Type:

Ability: Solid Rock / Sheer Force / Steadfast
Base stats: 103/108/110/63/89/70 (543)
Useful Moves:

Physical: Rock Slide, Stone Edge, Lunge, Fire Punch, Ice Punch, Thunder Punch, Earthquake, Brick Break, Skitter Smack, Heavy Slam, Superpower, Strength, Stomping Tantrum
Special: Meteor Beam, Earth Power, Bug Buzz
Status: Iron Defense, Rage Powder, Taunt, Torment, Rock Polish, Stealth Rock, Wide Guard, Sunny Day, Sandstorm, Bulk Up
Weight: 2812.51 lbs.
Gender: Both
Competitive use: This Pokémon is based off the Diabolical ironclad beetle, one of the most durable beetles in the world, and serves as a demolition worker, helping people demolish buildings: It has no worry of demolishing them from the inside due to it's supreme durability. In VGC 20XX, however, this Pokémon serves as a Rage Powder Defender, using the move to draw other attacks towards it, while the other Pokémon can attack unharmed. Once the opponent grows weary, this Pokémon can destroy them with it's wide variety of Physical moves, including it's Heavy Slam, which will almost always have maximum power due to it's heavy weight!
Is it broken?: (Weakness) Not the fastest Pokémon in the world, and it doesn't have any way to boost it's attacking stats beyond Bulk Up.

Ability: Regenerator / Speed Boost / Mold Breaker

Special: Bug Buzz, Thunderbolt, Thunder, Volt Switch, Steel Beam, Flash Cannon, Psychic, Psyshock, Expanding Force, Dark Pulse, Shadow Ball, Mirror Coat, Syrup Bomb, Giga Drain, Energy Ball, Power Gem, Aura Sphere, Focus Blast
Status: Minimize, Iron Defense, Swords Dance, Nasty Plot, Conversion, Rain Dance, Reflect, Light Screen, Thunder Wave, Quick Guard, Toxic, Autotomize
Weight: 23.2 lbs.
Gender: Genderless
Competitive use: Originally created by Silph Co to serve as a honey gathering robot Pokémon, especially from small places due to it's ability to Minimize, here this Pokémon serves as a Minimize Setup Sweeper. The goal is to Minimize a lot, then set up and strike into the opponent's weak spots!
Is it broken?: (Weakness) Very, very vulnerable to Fire-type moves, and has paper thin defences.

Here are my submissions for the new slate!

Description:
1) Concept
- Intestinorm is based on a cryptid known as the Mongolian Death Worm. It's said to live in the most desolate parts of a desert. What makes it extremely dangerous is its poison as well as its electrical discharge. These information explain the ability choices.
- If you want to have a better idea how the worm may look like, here's an artistic interpretation from wikipedia: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/b6/Allghoikhorkhoi.jpg
- On an unrelated note: All of Intestinorm's stats, including BST, are divisible by 7, a number meant to allude to the mysterious nature of a cryptid, such as the aforementioned Mongolian Death Worm. Base 70 HP references Orthworm's HP (which is also based on a worm) and it's generally a number many "good" Bug Pokémon gravitate towards to, like Scizor or Araquanid; it's a theme thing, you could say. The rest of the stats as well as BST are close to Golisopod's ones while staying true to the "divisible by 7" theme; some of the stats are also rearranged to better fit Intestinorm's competitive design, like taking advantage of its own special attack and moves like Electroweb for comfortable EV flexibility.

2) Competitive
- As far as Electric Terrain setters go, Intestinorm is pretty unique in that it's unlikely to share a type with an Electric-type ally due to its dual Bug and Ground type. Thus, there's less risk of an opponent exploring a shared weakness! After all, as a Bug-type Pokémon, Intestinorm resists Ground moves and can pressure Grass and Ground Pokémon with Bug moves and coverage moves respectively. This is important to note because, given their resistance profile, Grass and Ground Pokémon tend to switch into an Electric Pokémon. So, Intestinorm can take advantage of this interaction to ease the burden on its Electric-type ally. In turn, this Electric-type ally can threaten Water and Flying Pokémon to keep the pressure away from Intestinorm; after all, the latter is weak to these two types.
- Another aspect highlighting Intestinorm's difference from other Electric Terrain setters is its great supportive movepool. Thanks to its dual Bug and Ground type, Intestinorm naturally has access to many disruptive moves from these types, lowering stats (as in the case of Struggle Bug and Electroweb), inflicting status via Scorching Sands, or trapping Pokémon with Infestation or Sand Tomb. Moreover, with Life Dew (which is a Dune reference, btw), Intestinorm can keep its ally and itself healthier throughout the game. Furthermore, it can safely bring in an Electric Terrain abuser via Shed Tail if you want to explore this option. These two qualities are what sets Intestinorm completely apart from Tapu Koko and Pincurchin; it shows that each of these Electric Terrain setters has its own identity that doesn't overlap with each other too much. Intestinorm can further support the team with Poison moves, such as Acid Spray, Toxic Spikes, and Mortal Spin.
- While Intestinorm may look like a good supporter for Electric Pokémon, it can also benefit from its own terrain to pressure Water and Flying Pokémon, especially Flying Pokémon, which are naturally resistant to Bug moves and immune to Ground moves.
- Alternatively, if you are not looking for a terrain setter, there's always Poison Heal, which allows Intestinorm to become more resilient and continously spam stat lowering moves throughout a match, such as Electroweb or Struggle Bug, or inflict Paralysis and Poison. This choice of ability underlines the disruptive potential a Bug Pokémon always had; they know so many stat lowering moves… What's more, there's currently no other Poison Heal user that can pull off this quality well enough. Breloom is too frail while Gliscor is too passive.
- EV wise, Intestinorm's stats are relatively generous and allow for good customization, which is arguably a good quality to have in VGC due to benefits like set variety, resource management, and ease of teambuilding, among others.
- That said, Intestinorm's stats aren't unreasonable given its rather mediocre SpD. So, strong special attackers can keep it in check. Moreover, its offensive output is somewhat limited. For instance, its Electric moves are essentially just Pseudo STAB in Electric Terrain and rather disruptive or conditional in nature instead of being ungabunga.
Name: Illophyr

Compound Eyes // Ill Wind (Sets Tailwind when replacing a fainted Pokémon on the user's side.)
Type: Bug | Ghost

Description:
1) Concept
- Illophyr is based on a dragonfly; in some cultures, it's seen as bad omen and associated with water and wind. Thus, the new ability Ill Wind alludes to these aspects.
- The name is composed of ill (which means sick), illo (latin: this / that), lo (shortened from location), and phyr (shortened from the species's name zephyr). Phyr also happens to be a word play to reference fear. So, Illophyr and its secondary Ghost type references the beyond, a place where the dead rest, and its presence invokes fear among anyone encountering it. This is further underlined by Ill Wind, which brings misfortune to the unlucky ones.

2) Competitive
- In generation 9, GameFreak introduced some comeback features, such as Rage Fist, Last Respect or Supreme Overlord. Thus, Illophyr's Ill Wind expands on this feature by turning a battle more into your favour as long as it switches in after a Pokémon fainted on your side!
- With a free Tailwind, Illophyr can use this opportunity to further support the team with status moves, such as Will-O-Wisp, Disable, Curse, Pain Split, Helping Hand, Light Screen, etc.
- While the ability is incredibly potent, bear in mind you need to have a fainted Pokémon first to trigger this effect. Moreover, Illophyr isn't exactly a strong offensive Pokémon. So, its ally has to make up for it. What's more, if you run into Trick Room, this could spell doom for your team.
- If, for some reason, you don't want to rely on Ill Wind, there's always Compound Eyes, which gives you more accurate Will-O-Wisp, Hypnosis, and Poltergeist.

Is it broken? It's still very slow, and while it only has 3 weaknesses, 2 of them are pretty common, so it will need careful support to bring out its best stuff. Plus if you can bring it below 25% HP, it's basically worthless.

Movepool: Recover, Iron Defense, Body Press, Wood Hammer, Seed Bomb, Earthquake, Bulldoze, Earth Power, Energy Ball, Solar Beam, Solar Blade, Weather Ball, Thunder, Thunderbolt, Agility, Trailblaze, Calm Mind, Swords Dance, Hammer Arm, Curse, Leech Seed, Substitute, Toxic, Gravity, Sunny Day, Stealth Rock, Rain Dance, Trick Room, Rapid Spin, Bounce, Thunder Wave, Fissure, Perish Song, Block, Flip Turn

As for this week's discussion topic, the following changes to pre existing abilities has been suggested. Vote yes on the ones you agree with:

Emergency Exit now switches the user out after they have used a move
Blaze, Torrent, Overgrow and Swarm now trigger once the user has fallen to 50.0% HP or below
Ball Fetch boosts Speed by 1 stage every time the wielder uses a Ballistic move
Cute Charm now reduces moves taken from moves that are the same type as the user by 50%
Steadfast also grants an immunity to Intimidate
Rivalry boosts attacks used against same type Pokemon by 25%
Leaf Guard - when Sun is active, all Pokemon on the user's side cannot have their stats lowered by another Pokemon

And finally, here is a list of returning older Pokemon:

Ribombee
Vespiquen +30 base Speed, Heal Order, Poison Jab and Intimidate (slot 2)
Golisopod + Armor Piercer (hidden ability)
Gastrodon
Orbeetle + Hypergravity (replaces Frisk)
Alolan Muk
Flamigo + Drill Peck
Arbok + Parting Shot, Taunt and Helping Hand

Thank you so much for all your submissions, if you have any feedback for how I can improve this pet mod I'm all ears. Votes will be counted on Friday the 30th of August.

Sorry if this wasn't clear, but please only vote for 1 mon in each category.

Bug type: Snailord

Low stat mon: Crystallion

Yes to all ability buffs apart from Ball Fetch, I don't think that's a significant enough change. Maybe if it also drew in single target ballistic moves...

Below, my votes. I'm very thankful for the extension; it's been a busy week for me x)
Ubertrainer2000's Cybee
PalpitoadChamp's Snailord

I will abstain from my own suggestions and only focus on those of other people:
- no to Blaze, Torrent, Overgrow, and Swarm. I think these abilities are fine as they are; like pinch berries, they are meant to work at a low HP threshold. Certain Pokémon like Meowscarada have already shown they can make use of abilities such as these. Of course, could they be improved? Sure, but it feels wrong on a fundamental design Level.
- Ball Fetch--I'm a bit wary of the new buff, but it does have a cool interaction with Electroball. The user of the ability has to be really cool and balanced. As of now, I reject it. Nothing can make use of it at the moment. Speaking of Electroball, remind me to talk about its potentially new buff next slate.
- no to Cute Charm. Still feels too specific. Perhaps, if it was like "If user and ally share the same gender, user takes 25% less damage", it would feel more reliable. Same logic with Rivalry.
- Yes to Steadfast.
- I don't mind Leaf Guard.

- Yes to Ribombee. It's a very cool supportive Bug Pokémon that's fast and doesn't mind Fake Out. Moreover, it's a Bug-type that can actually resist Dark and Fighting and pressure them with Fairy moves.
- No to Vespiqueen. Intimidate is a great idea that makes sense flavour wise and is also quite funny because Vespiquen already has Pressure and Unnerve. Though, I don't think it needs a speed buff. Don't you want to profit from a slow U-turn the way Incineroar does? This also synergizes with Pollen Puff. That being said, Bug/Flying is quite a challenge to work with for a supportive Pokémon because you are weak to common spread moves: Heat Wave and Rock Slide.
- I don't mind Gastrodon.
- Yes to Orbeetle. Great choice flavour wise, and I know it works well on it. Though, I question the nerf since all you need is to use it once. And it can always switch out while the ally puts sth to sleep. Will see how the nerf actually plays out once we can all play this mod.
- I don't mind Alolan Muk, but I think it needs a very specific metagame to thrive.
- Yes to Flamigo.
- Yes to Arbok. I think it's a good starting point, especially since it has Glare to be very disruptive. Perhaps, it wouldn't hurt to raise its bulk a bit so it can actually stay longer on the field.

Alright everyone, the results are in! And the winners are...

Bug type: Phlocules. It was a tie with Snailord, and while I originally voted for Snailord on closer examination I feel that Phlocules will be able to fit on more teams since it can do more stuff (Life Orb, Scarf, Rage Powder). Both great Pokemon, I just felt Phlocules was better. Congratulations Ubertrainer2000

Bad stats good mon: With 3 votes the winner is Illophyr! Congratulations to BlueRay , since your Pokemon got the most votes overall, you get to either pick a category for this slate or pick this week's discussion topic. PM me or leave a comment on my profile with what which you'd prefer.

Emergency Exit now activates after the user has attacked (4-1)
Blaze, Torrent, Overgrow and Swarm now trigger at 50.0% HP (4-1)
Ball Fetch retains its original effect (1-4)
Cute Charm reduces damage from moves that are the same type as the user (4-1)
Rivalry powers up attacks against same type opponents (3-2)
Steadfast also blocks Intimidate (4-1)
Leaf Guard blocks stat drops from opposing Pokemon on the user's side during Sun (4-1)

You can see the votes here. Will kick off slate 3 once I've heard from BlueRay

Slate 3 is up! Loved your work on slate 2, look forward to seeing more from everyone.

1. Evolution of bad Pokemon
Farigaraf, Annihilape and Ursaluna have shown us a great way to make old stuff new again. Now it's your turn to give some forgotten nobody a brand new shape. No BST limit, just don't go crazy.

2. 500 BST Limit. That's it
I realise some of the previous slates were a bit too restricting. Now you can make whatever Pokemon you want, so long as its BST is 500 or lower.

3. Partners in Crime.
No, not the OM. Either introduce a duo that works well together or come up with a Pokémon that pairs well with one of the winning subs. Think Tatsugiri + Dondozo, or Tapu Koko + Alolan Raichu. No BST limit, but again don't do crazy.

Discussion Topic
Are Sleep and Freeze balanced? If not, how could we balance them?

You can also bring back 1 older Pokemon. Blacklist: Amoonguss, Incineroar, all previous legendary and paradox Pokemon

Submission phase lasts until Monday 9th September.

So I don't have to triple post, here are my choices for the slate.

Name: Ospreign (evolution of Swanna)
Type: Water / Flying
Ability: Keen Eye / Big Pecks / Bird of Prey (Damaging moves used on grounded Pokemon always hit.)
Base stats: 85 (+10), 67 (-20), 73 (+10), 117 (+30), 73 (+10), 98 (513 BST)
Useful moves
Physical:
Brave Bird, Liquidation, Aqua Jet, U-turn, Knock Off
Special: Hydro Pump, Muddy Water, Surf, Hurricane, Air Slash, Ice Beam, Blizzard, Icy Wind, Focus Blast
Status: Tailwind, Rain Dance, Helping Hand
Weight: 37.1 kgs
Size: 2.1 m
Gender: Both
Egg groups: Water 1 and Flying
Competitive use: Flying STAB is really good, the problem is most Flying types can't use it reliably. Brave Bird hits hard but has recoil, meanwhile the special attacking Flying types have to choose between the inaccurate Hurricane or the weak Air Slash. Ospreign fixes both issues with its hidden ability, letting it spam perfectly accurate Hurricanes and Hydro Pumps all day, if the opponent is on the ground.
Is it broken: Its bulk is only serviceable, and while 98 base Speed isn't bad by any means, it will need some support to bring out its best like Tailwind, Icy Wind or Trick Room. Rotom-W also stonewalls this thing.

Name: Mauycacque (name is a fusion of Mauy Thai and macaque, a monkey native to Thailand)
Type: Normal / Fighting
Ability: Iron Fist / Scrappy / Prankster
Base Stats: 75 / 125 / 80 / 60 / 60 / 100 (500 BST)
Useful moves
Physical:
Fake Out, Feint, Mach Punch, Upper Hand, Close Combat, Mighty Blow, Rock Slide, Ice Punch, Thunder Punch, Fire Punch, Rock Slide
Special: None (SpA is too low)
Status: Detect, Bulk Up, Coaching, Quick Guard, Taunt
Weight: 6.1 kgs
Size: 1.52 m
Gender: Both
Egg group: Field
Competitive use: Fake Out that nothing is immune to is always useful (while I didn't play VGC in Gen 6 and 7, I heard a lot of people wouldn't mega Khangaskhan immediately for that reason) and Scrappy gives it perfect neutral coverage with its STABs. It hits pretty hard as well, letting it dish out plenty of damage. It can also run a more support / utility role, since it also gets some cool support moves like Quick Guard and Coaching. It's one of only 2 Pokemon to get Prankster and Coaching (Riolu being the other one).
Is it broken? Its bulk overall is pretty bad, its typing doesn't give it many useful resistances and while base 100 speed is good there are a lot of Pokemon that can outpace and OHKO it.

Name: Pyrosite (name is a combo of pyro and parasite)
Type: Fire
Ability: Energise / Sheer Force (Energise: Allied Ice type Pokemon's attacks gain 30% power and they can't have their stats dropped by another Pokemon. Message on switchin says: [Pokemon] has been Energised!)
Base Stats: 52 / 82 / 62 / 122 / 62 / 130 (510 BST)
Useful moves
Physical:
Flare Blitz, Fire Fang, Flame Charge, Fire Lash
Special: Heat Wave, Inferno, Fire Blast, Overheat, Eruption, Flamethrower, Scorching Sands, Energy Ball
Status: Will-o-Wisp, Helping Hand, After You, Wide Guard
Weight: 0.1 kgs
Size: 0.2 m
Gender: Genderless
Egg group: Amorphous
Competitive use: It's a support Pokemon that packs quite a punch in its own right. Partner it up with an Ice type, and they basically get Sheer Force and Clear Body in one.
Is it broken? Bad defensive typing and horrendous bulk (it's barely better than Deoxys-N)
Lore: They have very high body temperatures, so seek out Ice type Pokemon to cool them down. Ice types tolerate them, as their extra heat gives them more energy to hunt. They are often used in artic expeditions, and to treat patients suffering with hypothermia.

Name: Cryosite (name is a combo of cryo and parasite)
Type: Ice
Ability: Regulate / No Guard (Regulate: Allied Fire type Pokemon become immune to redirection and their attacks can't miss)
Base stats: 52 / 82 / 62 / 122 / 62 / 130 (510 BST)
Useful moves
Physical:
Icicle Crash, Ice Spinner
Special: Ice Beam, Blizzard, Freeze-Dry, Icy Wind, Ice Geyser, Thunderbolt, Aura Sphere (Ice Geyser = Ice type version of Eruption)
Status: Aurora Veil, Helping Hand, Quash, Quick Guard
Weight: 0.1 kgs
Size: 0.2 m
Gender: Genderless
Egg group: Amorphous
Competitive use: Another support mon that still hits hard. The real party piece though, is what happens when you pair it up with a Fire type - they effectively get No Guard and Stalwart in one.
Is it broken? See Pyrosite.
Lore: They have very low body temperatures, so seek out Fire type Pokemon to warm them up. Fire types tolerate them, as they keep them calmer and more focused. They are often used in desert expeditions, and to treat people suffering from hyperthermia.

While both Pokemon are perfectly decent in their own right, they can be devastating when paired up together. They can also pair up with other Fire / Ice type Pokemon to help them out.

Discussion Point

Freeze I think is completely broken. While there are no moves that just Freeze (thankfully), if you do get Frozen it's pretty much GG. Therefore, I make the following suggestion: replace Freeze with Frostbite from Legends Arceus. Not only would this make the status more manageable, it would also give the players more ways to counter special attackers. Right now, special attackers are better than physical ones, because there's no special equivalent of Intimidate or Burn. The only way to cripple special attackers is with Eerie Impulse, which has limited distribution and can be hard to fit. Frostbite rebalances the attack/special attack balance, and is much more balanced than Freeze. If this gets approved, I will include a move that just causes Frostbite and an Orb that triggers it.

Edit: replace the Sleep status with Sleepy. When Sleepy, a Pokemon's speed is cut by 1 stage, and all attacks are guaranteed to hit. They can still act while Sleepy.

Returning Pokemon: Milotic + Calm Mind.

Bad Pokémon Evolution:
KUx30pd.png

Name: Vymsid (Vomit + Inside)
Type: ==
Evolution:
Interact with a special coral wall known as the Organ Wall with Pyukumuku at the front of your party, and you'll be asked if you wish to throw it at the wall. This will damage it for 50% of it's health: If it is still alive after that, Pyukumuku will evolve instantly!
Ability: Innards Out / Unnerve
Base stats: 105/30/150/30/150/75 (540)
Useful Moves: (Besides from Pyukumuku's original movepool)

Physical: None!
Special: None!
Status: Toxic Spikes, Aqua Ring, Rage Powder
Weight: 12.4 lbs.
Gender:
Both
Competitive use: Pyukumuku is intended to be a status-based gimmick Pokémon, but it's pathetic speed is what kills it in the long run. But in VGC20XX, being thrown against a special wall made from a unique kind of coral causes the coral to fuse with Pyukumuku's body to evolve it into Vymsid, which now has six extra mouths to finally give it the mobility it needs. It's primary role is a Defensive Supporter, curing allies of their status conditions with Purify, badly poisoning enemies with Toxic, and drawing away attacks with it's new Rage Powder. Compared to Pholcules, which shocked me when I learned that it won, Vymsid has greater defences, but lacks offensive coverage and abilities.
Is it broken?: (Weakness) Even after evolving, Vymsid still can't use any attacking moves besides from Counter or Mirror Coat. Also, Psyshock tears through this thing as easily as Pyukumuku Chucking!

500 BST:
i0WwpM4.png

Name: Deskaroud (Despair + Isekai + Shroud)
Type: ==
Ability:
Intimidate / Telepathy / Unburden
Base stats: 74/54/93/112/90/77 (500)
Useful Moves:

Physical: Foul Play, Play Rough, Fake Out
Special: Draining Kiss, Dazzling Gleam, Shadow Ball, Moonblast, Psychic, Psyshock, Ice Beam, Blizzard, Phantom Force, Shadow Sneak, Dark Pulse, Night Daze, Thunderbolt, Thunder
Status: Bestow, Helping Hand, Follow Me, Taunt, Torment, Calm Mind, Moonlight
Weight: 55.3 lbs.
Gender:
Both
Competitive use: This strange little fairy appears only where there is extreme amounts of despair, feeding on it while carefully watching the land around it collapse into chaos. It has quite an aloof personality, and was said to be a little girl reborn from another world. But none of that matters in VGC20XX, where it serves as a Bestow Support Sweeper: By giving away it's own item, it can speed up with Unburden and outpace most of the competitors in the metagame. Failing that, it can Intimidate foes into lowering their attack, or stay unscathed from allied AOE attacks with Telepathy.
Is it broken?: (Weakness) Situational in some cases, such as if it cannot use Bestow, plus it isn't exactly the fastest Pokémon around.

The Master and Expert, Partners in Crime:
jhho6h1.png

Name: Isavanage (Isaac A. Van Amburgh + Mage)
Type: ==
Ability:
Get Up! / Long Reach / Rivalry
Base stats: 98/121/89/54/85/96 (543)
Useful Moves:

Physical: Power Whip, Psycho Cut, Shadow Claw, Foul Play, Aqua Tail, Body Slam, Phantom Force, Poltergeist, Spirit Shackle
Special: Psychic, Psyshock, Psychic Noise, Shadow Ball, Dark Pulse
Status: Role Play, Mean Look, Follow Me, Helping Hand, Decorate, Nasty Plot, Bulk Up, Calm Mind, Thunder Wave
Weight: 102.3 lbs.
Gender: Male only
Competitive use:
Inspired by the original Lion Tamer Isaac A. Van Amburgh, as well as a typical RPG Mage, this Setup Sweeper works well with his Lion, Liskight, although it can also function well on it's town. It can not only take out the Fighting Pokémon that threaten to obliterate Liskight with their STAB moves, but can also use it's reworked Rivalry ability to destroy Psychic and Ghost types as well. It's unique ability will make others think twice of making Liskight flinch...but it can also deviously hit it with Thunder Wave to purposefully trigger the ability!
Is it broken?: (Weakness) Very vulnerable to Dark-type moves, which Liskight can cover. Get Up!'s usefulness depends on Liskight, and it doesn't have that many good coverage options beyond STAB.
SPECIAL ABILITY: Get Up!: Whenever a friendly Liskight flinches, or is unable to move due to Paralysis, it repeats its most recent move immediately. Can't be ignored by abilities.
YykQcLM.png

Name: Liskight (Lion + Peekskill + Knight)
Type: ==
Ability:
Sturdy / Intimidate / Unnerve
Base stats: 82/113/76/61/98/104 (543)
Useful Moves:

Physical: Crunch, Body Slam, Double-Edge, Fire Fang, Ice Fang, Thunder Fang, Psychic Fangs, Iron Head, Heavy Slam, Steel Roller, Wild Charge, U-Turn, Body Press
Special: Thunderbolt, Thunder, Flash Cannon, Volt Switch
Status: Endure, Substitute, Iron Défense, Autotomize, Roar, Scary Face, Thunder Wave
Weight: 127.28 lbs.
Gender: Both
Competitive use: Every Lion Tamer needs his lion, and this one, inspired by statues of lions and a typical RPG Warrior, serves as Isavanage's! On it's own, it's an Offensive Pivot, smashing enemies with STAB Moves, and pivoting in and out with U-Turn or Volt Switch to repeatedly Intimidate it's opponents. With Isavanage at it's side, it's Brick Break can take out the Dark-types that threaten Isavanage, and inflict even more chaos with Isavanage's ability!
Is it broken?: (Weakness) Fighting moves tear it to shreds, even with Sturdy, but luckily Isavanage can absorb those moves easily, especially with the fact that Liskight has low defence!

Name: Kaleideleon (Kaleidoscope + Chameleon)

Type: Normal
Abilities: Color Change (H: Prankster)
Base Stats: 80/120/90/80/120/30 (BST: 520)

Movepool: Kecleon's Movepool +Calm Mind, Confusion, Curse, Dragon Breath, Dragon Tail, Drill Run, Giga Impact, Gravity, Hyper Beam, Imprison, Magic Room, Mind Reader, Mirror Coat, Poison Jab, Psychedelic Slash, Psychic, Psychic Noise, Psyshock, Supercell Slam, Torment

Name: Psychedelic
Type: Normal
Category: Status
BP: ---
Acc: ---%
PP: 32
Effect: Uses a move based on the current weather.
No Weather: Body Slam
Sun: Blaze Kick
Rain: Liquidation
Sand: Stone Edge
Snow: Ice Spinner

Weight: 65 kg
Gender: 50-50
Design: Kecleon with a longer tail, protruding tongue, kaleidoscope glasses, and a swirly belly pattern

Competitive: Kaleideleon is a threatening force, rocking Prankster with some very potent moves, primarily its signature move, Psychedelic Slash, allowing for powerful priority moves. Kaleideleon is very slow but it has TR of its own or it can have a support mon. Prankster has lots of potent options such as Recover, Stealth Rock, Substitute, TWave, Trick, CM, & After You. The biggest move that goes with it, though, is Psychedelic Slash with +2 priority Body Slams or other moves backed by weather. Its biggest weaknesses are its typing being Normal, its reliance on its ability or TR support to overcome its slow speed, and not the best coverage unless you want to rely on weather or weaker moves.

Name: Bitmaus (Bit + Maus (German for Mouse))

Type: Electric
Abilities: Static/Friend Guard (H: Galvanize)
Base Stats: 100/90/80/70/60/50 (BST: 450)

Movepool: Explosion, Body Slam, Double-Edge, Hyper Voice, Tri Attack, Thunder Wave, Thunderbolt, Thunder, Supercell Slam, Spark, Toxic Spikes, Venoshock, Venom Drench, Iron Head, Surf, Heal Pulse, Follow Me, Parabolic Charge, Bulldoze, Brutal Swing, Nasty Plot, Quick Attack
I will make a full movepool if it wins

Weight: 1.9 kg
Gender: 50-50
Design: Deltarune Maus but plasma looking

Competitive: Bitmaus is an offensive support mon with Follow Me, Friend Guard, & Parabolic Charge. However, you can also run a Galvanize set with Explosion, Quick Attack, & strong Physical STAB. Bitmaus can also run Nasty Plot sets with Thunderbolt/Parabolic Charge + Surf + NP with Friend Guard or Galvanize. Bitmaus gets Surf because surfing the web.

Freeze is dumb but Frostbite is NOT a good idea. Special Burn is not a good idea. Instead all Fire-type moves gain the defrost tag, allowing you to unthaw when using them. Why this isn't already true is beyond me.
Sleep is also fine but a little annoying, so now it is exactly 2 turns, making it less RNG reliant.

Beartic returns with +Ice Shard and +20 Speed

Here are my submissions for the new slate! Hope, it's not too late. x)
Name: Zebsonavolt

Ability: Lightning Rod / Inflammation // Sap Sipper
Type:
Electric

Inflammation: If user deals super-effective damage to a target, it inflicts Burn on it.

Stats:
HP: 95
Attack: 120
Defense: 74
Special Attack: 60
Special Defense: 74
Speed: 126
BST: 549

Height: 1.9 m
Weight: 93.2 kg
Gender Ratio: male (50.0%), female (50.0%)

New Move:
- Reverberation (Electric, Physical, 80 BP, 10 PP, Sound, effect: After this move, user also uses a mini Earthquake at 60 BP)
Physical MovesSpecial MovesStatus Moves
Flare Blitz, Reverberation--

Description:
1) Concept
- Zebsonavolt is a mix of zebra, sona (meaning, sound), and volt. Zebstrika has a lot of Fire flavour due to its thunder theme. Thunder also happen to be loud. When it runs, it causes some sort of echo. All of this is reflected in Inflammation and Reverberation. So, there you have it, Zebsonavolt's design concept!

2) Competitive
- I noticed we lack a physical Electric-type user, hence why I decided to come up with a Zebstrika evolution. Since it's so fast, it's more likely to attack first and support the team. For instance, Zebsonavolt has access to Eerie Impulse or Light Screen if you are struggling with special attackers. It also has Electroweb and Feint to further support the team. Because of its mono Electric-type, Zebsonavolt is free to run many supportive moves--a luxury not many Pokémon can afford if they want to hit as many targets as possible with dual STAB.
- In combination with Inflammation, Reverberation and the potential Flare Blitz are likely able to deal super-effective damage to a target, inflicting Burn from the ability as a result. This gives Zebsonavolt some staying power, allowing it to support the team for additional turns. Speaking of team support, the Fire starter will likely appreciate Zebsonavolt because the latter can trigger Weakness Policy with the mini Earthquake from Reverberation. Furthermore, many of the types the Fire starter is weak to, such as Rock or Water, tend to be physical attackers. In turn, Zebsonavolt appreciate that Ground and Dragon Pokémon are pressured by the starter's Ice moves.
- Bug Pokémon also like Zebsonavolt's presence as it eases the Flying and Rock mu. Fwiw, Reverberation hits a bit harder than High Horsepower against a Rock-type. So, it is by no means a weak move. I should note you can do some interesting combos involving the aforementioned Weakness Policy or stuff like Kee Berry, Stamina or Seed Sower if we end up having one of those in the metagame.
- Finally, if Zebsonavolt's health is low, you can always resort to Endeavor for additional pressure. Between Eerie Impulse and Burn, this Pokémon will likely be able to survive at low HP.
- You might have noticed I only included two moves. That's because you all know its movepool in general. So, it felt important to me to just include new stuff. Fwiw, should this sub win, I've actually coded the basis of Inflammation and Reverberation already. So, whoever ends up coding just needs to ask me, and I'll provide the code for these custom elements. Same with my other subs below.

- Toxicroak is such a cool Pokémon with a unique dualtype and appealing resistances and tools. It's just kind of frail, and I've always wanted a slow, bulky Poison/Fighting Pokémon. Hence Mycecroak, the final evolution form. The latter provides incredible support between Fake Out, Feint, Icy Wind, and other support moves. Sticky Hold is more of an experiment allowing it to take great advantage of its movepool. Consider this: Rocky Helmet -> Assurance or Berry (Kee Berry, for instance, that's unknockable) -> Belch, etc. The list of interesting stuff you can pull off goes on and on.
- If you are not into it, there's always Dry Skin and Poison Touch for a better defensive profile or disruption.
- Mycecroak gets a lot more interesting when it has its partner Enlightened Foonguss on the field to encourage smart stat boost management. More, below.

Description:
1) Concept
- Enlightened Foonguss is more of a joke, a Foonguss that managed to become independent from other mushrooms and use its smarts to control convince Mycecroak to defend it. Fwiw, some mushroom have some hallucinogenic effects, which explains the Psychic type.

2) Competitive
- Enlightened Foonguss knows every move that base Foonguss also knows. Which means, it gets access to the dangerous Spore but also to Leaf Storm! If you use Leaf Storm, Enlightened Foonguss's SpA will be lowered by 2 stages. If there's an ally Mycecroak on the field, that Pokémon would receive +2 Atk in turn. If Mycecroak uses Superpower, it lowers its Atk and Def by 1 stages while Enlightened Foonguss would gain +1 SpA and + 1 SpD. Understood?
- Good. This allows for some clever stat boost management since Mycecroak and Enlightened Foonguss depend on each other to become resilient and threatening. Fwiw, the duo can kind of get around Intimidate and moves like Struggle Bug or Snarl as either partner can hit a target on either side of offense. Moreover, both could run a mixed or a physical / special set version due to flexible offensive stats.
- Enlightened Foonguss can resort to Spore, Trick Room, Rage Powder, and Pollen Puff to take advantage of slow speed and support Mycecroak while the latter can stop potential Fake Out or Taunt users with Fake Out. Another benefit to mention is that Enlightened Foonguss is walled by Steel Pokémon and hate facing Dark Pokémon--types Mycecroak can easily deal with. In turn, Enlightened Foonguss pressures Poison Pokémon, which would wall Mycecroak otherwise. Furthermore, Enlightened Foonguss has Leaf Storm to pressure Ground.
- The duo should be well balanced considering Mycecroak has a 4 x Psychic weakness. What's more, both Enlightened Foonguss and Mycecroak are weak to Ground, making it much easier to deal with them.

I'll give my thoughts on freeze/sleep, returning Pokémon, etc. during voting phase, I think.

Follower - This Pokemon is immune to sound moves that aren't used by a Soliloquil. If an ally Soliloquill uses a sound move while this Pokemon is on the field, this Pokemon's Attack is boosted by 1 stage.
Weight: 40 kg
Gender: Both
Size: 0.8 m
Egg Group: Field

Competitive use: Pretty basic to understand combo, flavorwise based on how crows are basically domesticating wolves and how someone reciting poetry in the middle of a town square or something 300 years ago would have a bunch of loyal listeners to hear them. The basic strategy is to set Tailwind with Soliloquil, then spam Sound moves to power up Scholup while Solilioquil can offensively handle Fighting-types that threaten Scholup.
Is it broken?: Since Scholup lacks strong spread moves and Soliloquil's might opt to run Alluring Voice over Gleam to activate Scholup, this strategy takes a little while to get going, since you're at best taking 1 KO per turn per mon, so it you can get through each mon's only okay bulk (pretty bad bulk in the case of Soliloquil) fast enough. Neither mon loves Steel-types either

Sleep & Freeze
Being very brief here but:
- Sleep is a pretty dumb but very important mechanic to VGC, so I'm somewhat hesitant to change it, but I might support making it always 2 turns to make it easier to plan around. The one thing about that I don't like is that the sleep user can plan for that too and just immediately put you to sleep again, so maybe the duration should still be random, but between 1 and 2 turns instead of 1 and 3.
- Freeze is just dumb and while it does boost the viability of Blizzard spamming Ice-types a bit, it's just way to easy for Freeze to swing a game and it's so rare that those cases are so rare. As for what to change it to, I like the idea of making it into one of the statuses from Legends Arceus, but instead of Frostbite, I'd instead make it a little like Drowsy, where frozen Pokemon can still act but take 30% more damage from all attacks. Additionally, frozen Pokemon lose 6.25% of their HP per turn, like Frostbite and Burn. You would no longer be able to thaw out naturally, but getting hit by a Fire move or a move with the Defrost flag still thaws you out. This keeps freeze as a terrifying offensive force, but not nearly as game changing.

OK everyone, it's voting time! For the Evolution and 500 BST mon, vote for your 1 favourite, not including your own creation. For the Partners in Crime, vote for the pair. Again, you may not vote for your own.

Bad Pokémon Evolution:
KUx30pd.png

Name: Vymsid (Vomit + Inside)
Type: ==

Type: ==

Name: Isavanage (Isaac A. Van Amburgh + Mage)
Type: ==
Ability:

Type: ==

Description:
1) Concept
- You've probably all heard of or seen the image of a frog sitting on a mushroom... Now, this might be just crazy but hear me out. This time, it's reversed. You have an Enlightened Foonguss sitting on Mycecroak's back, forming a symbiotic relationship with it where it provides it with important nutrients in exchange for protection from dangerous predators.

2) Competitive

Name: Enlightened Foonguss

Ability:
Effect Spore / Shared Mindset // Regenerator
Type:

Shared Mindset: If user (Enlightened Foonguss) has its Atk lowered, ally's (Mycecroak) SpA is modified in the opposite direction, and vice versa. Same applies to Def and SpD.

Discussion Topic
Several changes were proposed to the mechanics of Sleep and Freeze. Vote for the 1 change you think is best, or just say No Change if you think the mechanics are fine as is.

Freeze
Replace with the Frostbite status from Legends Arceus
All Fire type moves used by and on Frozen Pokemon defrost
Frozen Pokemon can act, but take 30% more damage from attacks and take 6.25% damage at the end of each turn. Affected Pokemon don't thaw naturally, but being hit by a move with the Defrost tag will thaw them out

Sleep
Replace Sleep with Sleepy. Sleepy Pokemon can act, but have their Speed cut by 1 stage and all attacks are guaranteed to hit them. Lasts 1-3 turns, or until they're hit with a Sound based move
Affected Pokemon always stays asleep for 2 turns
Affected Pokemon is asleep for random 1-2 turns

And finally
Milotic has returned and now boasts the move Calm Mind
Beartic
has also returned, sporting Ice Shard and +20 Speed, now sitting at base 70
If you haven't bought back an old Pokemon, just add it to your vote post.

Below, my votes.
Bad Evolution: PalpitoadChamp's Kaleideleon
- I'm always in favour of monotypes because if someone tries to do that, it's usually well thought out and interesting. Moreover, there's this general preference for dualtypes, which is all well and good, but a bit more diversity wouldn't hurt in my eyes. x)
- Anyway, admitttedly, Psychedelic Slash looks scary, especially if Kaleideleon holds a Choice Band. I think I'd prefer if Sand turned it into Rock Slide or Rock Tomb because, even though Stone Edge has 80% accuracy, its damage output is quite a lot for a pseudo priority move. At the very least, there's some counterplay in Intimidate. Moreover, I saw we now have a Farigiraf in the format, which comes with Armor Tail to protect the team from priority moves and Prankster. If you are reading this, ChrystalFalchion, it might not hurt to inform people you've recently created a Google spreadsheet and put it on the first page of this thread. That way, everyone can check what kind of submission and nomination they want to make next time.

500 BST: ChrystalFalchon's Mauycacque
- This leans hard into priority moves and even provides some neat utility, granting it a valuable niche on a team. A simple, yet effective and straightforward submission. I like it. (I'm honestly surprised it doesn't have Quick Attack already).

Partners in Crime: Yoshiblaze's Soliloquill and Scholup
- I appreciate the lack of Knock Off on Scholup. If I may give some recommendation, would you be interested in adding Assurance to its movepool? It's slower than its ally. So, Assurance will most likely gain its full power and further underline the partnership between Scholup and Soliloquill. While weak, Brutal Swing could also be added because its a spread move that becomes stronger the more often Soliloquill uses a Sound move successfully. This may make up for Soliloquil's reliance on a single-target move a bit. Edit: I remembered you could give Soliloquill Perish Song, if you want to, and Scholup could learn Jaw Lock to create some interesting interaction.

Returning Pokémon: Flygon
- I noticed we have a severe lack of Ground-type Pokémon for general purposes. I don't count Gastrodon, which feels very specific. Enter Flygon, which comes with all kinds of support: Tailwind, Feint, Breaking Swipe, Struggle Bug, etc. Ground + Dragon + Levitate also isn't shabby at all, defensively or offensively. What's most important is that Flygon feels very fair. It doesn't hit super hard, and given its average damage output, there should be enough counterplay. I can see Quiver Dance and / or Tinted Lens being added if you are worried Flygon may still not thrive well enough.

On Freeze:
- No changes.

On Sleep:
- Affected Pokemon always stays asleep for 2 turns, which should give players some measure of control now that they know how long it will last.
