VGC Mega Salamence

Salamence-Mega @ Salamencite
Ability: Intimidate
Level: 50
SPs: 2 HP / 32 SpA / 32 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hyper Voice
- Draco Meteor
- Tailwind / Flamethrower
- Protect

This two-time world champion soars into Regulation M-C! Mega Salamence beats metagame staples like Rillaboom, Sneasler, and Mega Staraptor with Hyper Voice. Its Tailwind helps slower teammates like Gholdengo, Rillaboom, and Hisuian Arcanine outspeed and OHKO threats such as Mega Floette and Mega Froslass. Flamethrower stops Steel-types like Gholdengo from walling Mega Salamence. Intimidate can be cycled to weaken foes and let Salamence get value without Mega Evolving. Steel-type teammates such as Kingambit and Gholdengo handle threats like Mega Floette and Mega Froslass. Sneasler has Dire Claw for Fairy-types like Mega Floette as well as Close Combat for Archaludon and Kingambit. Incineroar and Rillaboom can use Fake Out to make Tailwind easier to set up, and they appreciate Mega Salamence beating Sneasler. Mega Tyranitar is an alternative Mega Evolution that can be used against Mega Froslass, overriding Snow Warning with Sand Stream, while Mega Salamence is better against Sneasler and Mega Staraptor. Mega Raichu Y has Focus Blast for Steel-types if Mega Salamence lacks Flamethrower, whereas Mega Salamence is stronger against Rillaboom and Garchomp.

-1 21 Atk Aerilate Mega Salamence Double-Edge vs. 32 HP / 0 Def Rillaboom: 186-218 (89.8 - 105.3%) -- 31.25% chance to OHKO

Sorry for the delay and subsequent inconvenience but given the Baltimore results, it was decided to commit Mega Salamence into a pure SpA user due to overwhelming majority.
Here is your new set.

This 2-time world champion soars into Regulation M-C! Mega Salamence beats metagame staples like Rillaboom, Sneasler, and Mega Charizard Y needs an update due to move changes. It can support its team with Tailwind, helping slower teammates like Gholdengo, Rillaboom, and Basculegion-M outspeed and OHKO threats like Mega Floette and opposing Basculegion-M. Intimidate lets it weaken key physical attackers like Basculegion-M, Rillaboom, and Garchomp This is too obvious, I feel like you can focus on Intimidate elsewhere, whether through cycling it, or specific interactions. The Speed investment allows it to outspeed Whimsicott, the Attack investment lets it OHKO a +1 Defense Sneasler with Double Edge after Intimidate, and the remaining SPs are put into Special Attack. Steel-type teammates like Kingambit and Gholdengo handle threats like Mega Floette and Mega Froslass. Fake Out from Incineroar and Rillaboom make it easier to set up Tailwind, and they appreciate Mega Salamence dealing with Sneasler. Sneasler has Fake Out, Dire Claw for Fairy-types like Mega Floette, and Close Combat for Archaludon and Kingambit which punishes Intimidate. Mega Floette is an alternative Mega Evolution that can be brought against hard matchups for Mega Salamence like Archaludon and Garchomp. Mega Salamence is in turn better against Sneasler and Mega Charizard Y. Check Baltimore, some new stuff just came out, Mega Tyranitar would be a more common example

poketitanterra you wanted to recheck right? please note that for the intimidate bullet I am partially referring to bringing salamence without mega evolving, lmk if this is too niche. I also wanted to admit that the best mence + raichu y teams were top 64, however it was the most common pairing of mega mence + another mega. I think the non mega mence is more likely with this pairing, but might still be too niche for this short analysis

This looks solid, send to GP after the changes. Be mindful of word count

This 2-time world champion soars into Regulation M-C! Mega Salamence beats metagame staples like Rillaboom, Sneasler, and Mega Staraptor How?. It can support its team with Tailwind, helping slower teammates like Gholdengo, Rillaboom, and Basculegion-M Hisuian Arcanine outspeed and OHKO threats like Mega Floette and opposing Basculegion-M can you list something more relevant. Flamethrower prevents Steel-types like Gholdengo from walling Mega Salamence. Intimidate can be cycled to weaken foes like Basculegion-M and let Salamence get value without using Mega Evolution. Mega Tyranitar is an alternative Mega Evolution that can be brought against Mega Froslass also mention weather control from the ability activating again. Mega Salamence is in turn better against Sneasler and Mega Staraptor. Mega Raichu Y has Focus Blast for Steel-types mention where Salamence does not have Flamethrower, while Mega Salamence plays better against Rillaboom and Garchomp.

This 2-time two-time world champion soars into Regulation M-C! Mega Salamence beats metagame staples like Rillaboom, Sneasler, and Mega Staraptor with Hyper Voice. It supports its team with Its (cut for character count; leave this as is if character count isn't a concern) Tailwind (RC) helping helps slower teammates like Gholdengo, Rillaboom, and Hisuian Arcanine outspeed and OHKO threats like such as (repetition) Mega Floette and Mega Froslass. Flamethrower stops Steel-types like Gholdengo from walling Mega Salamence. Intimidate can be cycled to weaken foes and let Salamence get value without Mega Evolving. Steel-type teammates like such as (repetition) Kingambit and Gholdengo handle threats like Mega Floette and Mega Froslass. Fake Out from Incineroar and Rillaboom makes can use Fake Out to make Tailwind easier to set up, and they appreciate Mega Salamence beating Sneasler. Sneasler (there might be value in moving this sentence immediately before the Incin/Rilla one. At first, I was confused when reading this because the previous sentence mentions Sneasler as a foe, but this sentence immediately pivots to mentioning Sneasler as a partner without making that explicit. I didn't want to make that change directly without consulting you first, but I think it would be best for clarity. lmk if you have a question about this) has Dire Claw for Fairy-types like Mega Floette (RC) and as well as Close Combat for Archaludon and Kingambit. Mega Tyranitar is an alternative Mega Evolution that can be used against Mega Froslass, rewriting overriding Snow Warning with Sand Stream (RP), (AC) while Mega Salamence is in turn better against Sneasler and Mega Staraptor. Mega Raichu Y has Focus Blast for Steel-types if Mega Salamence lacks Flamethrower, while whereas Mega Salamence is better stronger (repetition) against Rillaboom and Garchomp.
