Ogerpon-H storms through Regulation F, blazing through Pokemon like Rillaboom and Urshifu-R. In addition, Follow Me, redirects attacks such as Moonblast from Flutter Mane and Iron Head from Kingambit. Alternatively, Stomping Tantrum is a more offensive option to hit Raging Bolt, Incineroar, and Glimmora, while Spiky Shield is a better alternative to Protect. Grassy Glide can be run over Wood Hammer but is only useful when brought next to Rillaboom. Ogerpon-H struggles against common attacks such as Sludge Bomb from Landorus and Bleakwind Storm from Tornadus, so partners like Chien-Pao that can easily remove these threats are appreciated. Additionally, partners like Raging Bolt should be run to switch in on Bleakwind Storm. In return, Ogerpon-H is able to redirect Fairy-type attacks from the likes of Flutter Mane while hitting opposing Steel-types like Iron Crown with Ivy Cudgel. Booster Speed Flutter Mane's Icy Wind lets Ogerpon-H outrun and OHKO opposing Chien-Pao and Choice Scarf Urshifu-R. Incineroar is an issue for Ogerpon-H due to Intimidate, but it is beaten by Urshifu-R, which appreciates Ogerpon-H's ability to threaten Amoonguss with Ivy Cudgel and safely redirect Spore with Follow Me.

Zusätzlich erlaubt Follow Me das Umlenken gegnerischer Attacken wie Moonblast von Flutter Mane oder Iron Head von Kingambit. Alternativ bietet Stomping Tantrum eine offensivere Option, um Raging Bolt, Incineroar und Glimmora zu treffen, während Spiky Shield eine bessere Variante zu Protect darstellt. Grassy Glide kann statt Wood Hammer gespielt werden, ist jedoch nur nützlich, wenn Ogerpon-H gemeinsam mit Rillaboom eingesetzt wird. Das Icy Wind von Booster Speed-Flutter Mane ermöglicht es Ogerpon-H zudem, gegnerische Chien-Pao sowie Choice Scarf-Urshifu-R zu überholen und zu OHKOen. Incineroar stellt durch Intimidate ein Problem dar, wird jedoch von Urshifu-R zuverlässig geschlagen und dieser profitiert wiederum stark davon, dass Ogerpon-H Amoonguss mit Ivy Cudgel unter Druck setzt und Spore sicher über Follow Me ablenken kann.
