I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post a VGC team here but I wasn't getting too much feedback from Nuggetbridge so I figured I would ask you guys, if it's not allowed please delete the thread.
Here's my rain team for VGC, I've tried it a little bit with some success but with everything, it could be improved.
Politoed @ Leftovers
Drizzle
Bold
252 HP / 252 Defense / 4 SpD
Toxic
Ice Beam
Scald
Protect
I'll be using him to set up Rain and generally just be there for some type coverage and setting up toxic.
Ludicolo @ Sitrus Berry
Rain Dish
Calm
248 HP / 208 SpD / 56 Spe
Fake Out
Protect
Giga Drain
Rain Dance
He's my special wall, and I have him with Rain Dance to set up rain in case politoed gets knocked out before I can start rain up again. Generally he's just here to be a annoyance and tank a few hits for my other Pokemon. Fake Out allows him to stop a potentially fatal attack or allow my second Poke some breathing room to start attacking.
Toxicroak (M) @ Black Sludge
Dry Skin
Adamant
252 Attack / 252 Spe / 4 HP
Adamant
- Drain Punch
- Poison Jab
- Sucker Punch
- Protect
He's my Physical Attacker, he's got coverage on a good amount of types and the Dry Skin/ Sludge and Drain Punch keep him alive and tanking hits decently. Poison jab is for fairies and grass types, sucker punch is there to deal with Rotom specifically, and drain punch is there for the above reason. NOTE: I've been thinking about using the Bulky set up to really abuse drain punch but haven't tested it yet.
Garchomp (M) @ Yache Berry/Rocky Helmet
Rough Skin
252 Atk / 4 HP / 252 Spd
Jolly
Rock Slide
Dragon Claw
Earthquake
Protect
Another Physical attack with the added bonus of being able to switch into electric moves incase I feel like my Greninja is getting threatened. Yache berry to keep him alive after an Ice attack or Rocky helmet to stack with Rough skin. Rock slide takes out Charizard Y and Talonflame, Dragon claw is there for Goodra/Chomp/Salamence, Earthquake is for the electric coverage.
Heliolisk @ Life Orb
Dry Skin
Modest
4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Thunder
Volt Switch
Dark Pulse
Protect
Special attacker, decent coverage and the ability to swap out of the fight in case I feel an Earthquake coming, plus his ability is a neat gimmick to deal with Life Orb damage.
Greninja @ Expert Belt
Protean
Modest
4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Dark Pulse
Scald
Protect
U-Turn/Extrasensory
Another special attack with the gimmick of being able to change his typing with each attack, making him hard to hit with a Super Effective attack. Expert belt is there because he has a decent amount of coverage with the moveset and should be able to abuse it.
