Recently i had a funny thought during class
What if i got specs boosted + sun boosted + tera fire boosted eruption on volcanion under tr
Now im sadly aware that volcanion doesnt learn eruption (for whatever stupid reason) but heat wave is fineee enough
I went on to start a team idea that was also mostly inspired by wolfey´s euic winning team.
1. Freedoom Fighter (Koraidon) @ Life Orb
Ability: Orichalcum Pulse
Level: 50
Tera Type: Fire
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Flame Charge
- Close Combat
- Protect
First pokemon of the list is my beloved freedoom fighter koraidon
he cant take the bullying from the rain teams and decided to help out here with his sun to provide more freedom for his partners
now this koraidon set is pretty basic so i dont think its needs further elaboration
its just there to basically threaten ohkos or big damage onto most pokemon my opponent has on their team
in addition with its sun ability and its a perfect restricted for this funny team idea
2. VolCANion (Volcanion) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Water Absorb
Level: 50
Tera Type: Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 100 SpA / 156 SpD
Quiet Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Heat Wave
- Earth Power
- Steam Eruption
- Flamethrower
The main star of this team and my favourite volcano that cant erupt
The one. The Only. volCANion!!!
even though his moveset proves otherwise it volCANion (haha get it?) still put up massive spread damage with heatwave
also fun fact: Did YOU know that volcanion has 130 base SpA?
with that massive SpA stat it comes to no surprise that this volcanion is just a special sweeper that wears the shiny choice specs
the ev spread is pretty basic
i just maxed SpA and tried to balance out its Def and SpDef though i just tried to do what felt the best for me (i didnt do a lot of damage calcs)
made it as slow as possible to work better under tr which is also why its best utilized under tr with its beloved partner oranguru who we willl get to in just a sec
3. Fluttered (Flutter Mane) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Protosynthesis
Level: 50
Tera Type: Normal
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Shadow Ball
- Moonblast
- Icy Wind
- Protect
This is the same flutter set wolfey used in his euic team so it should be familar to yall
this ancient fluffy ghost is mostly here to put pressure on the horserider edgelord caly shadow and to give speed control with icy wind
sash lets it surive so it can stick around for longer
that also enabled it to threathen damage on unsuspecting (or more like suspecting) dark and ghost types with huge damage
tera normal to catch astral barrage spammers off guard
4. Meowcineroar (Incineroar) @ Safety Goggles
Ability: Intimidate
Level: 50
Tera Type: Ghost
EVs: 252 HP / 124 Def / 132 SpD
Careful Nature
IVs: 29 Spe
- Fake Out
- Parting Shot
- Taunt
- Knock Off
The fourth partymember of this very cool and awesome team is OUR beloved incineroar
it shares the same ev training as wolfe´s euic incineroar but with 3 key differences
this wrestling cat´s job is to support its teammates like most incineroar do but i also added taunt for disrupting opposing pokemon like opposing tr setters to prevent them to undoing my tr and readded knock off to pressure pokemon that rely on their items too much
tera ghost to be immune to opposing fake out and safety googles to prevent the cat from going to sleep
its also one speed stat slower than other incineroar to give me the upperhand with parting shot exchanges
5. Angry Neighbour (Brute Bonnet) @ Covert Cloak
Ability: Protosynthesis
Level: 50
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 140 Def / 112 SpD
Impish Nature
- Seed Bomb
- Sucker Punch
- Spore
- Rage Powder
The fifth pokemon on this lineup is the ancient disruptive mushroom
its purpose is to put other pokemon to sleep and to become the center of attention (unless the opponent is a grass type)
it theathens surprise KOs to shadowrider with sucker punch and provides further attacking support with seed bomb against opposing kyogres or tera water ice riders
i gave it covert cloak so it cant get stopped by fake out
tera water to survive against ice rider
6. Ragebait (Oranguru) @ Mental Herb
Ability: Inner Focus
Level: 50
Tera Type: Grass
EVs: 252 HP / 180 Def / 52 SpD / 24 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe
- Trick Room
- Instruct
- Taunt
- Protect
Now to arguably my favourite pokemon on the team
our dear friend Ragebait´s sole purpose over here is to annoy and disrupt the opponent
it achieves this with taunts to prevent other pokemon from either setting up, using pr, using trick room to undo my etc.
it functions as the tr setter of the team for my volcanion-tr-mode
i also gave it instruct to trigger a VERY funny interaction inside of tr
yall might have noticed the 24 evs i added to its speed stat and i did that for a very specific reason
with that exact number of evs it makes oranguru exactly ONE speed stat faster than volcanion
that means its gonna move AFTER volcanion in tr
and yk what that means?
Sun boosted + tera fire boosted + specs boosted heatwave a whole TWO times in one turn
how? remember the funny interaction i mentioned before..well THIS exact interaction is what i was talking about
since oranguru always moves after volcanion under tr it can instruct volcanion to basically nuke the opponent a second time in one turn
i gave the psychic orang utan the mental herb item so it cant get ragebaited by opposing taunt users and tried to make it bulkier so it can stick around for longer
inner focus to bypass fake out and tera grass so it doesnt get put to sleep
now this team has both a koraidon based and volcanion tr based mode
i only "finalized" the team like 2 hours ago so i couldnt get to play a lot of games with it yet
because of that i dont really have specific korai/tr volcanion mode gameplans but the idea should work on paper
