I have created a few TR Teams in the past, and generally they worked somewhat decently. Now I've taken what I could from Gen VI and put it into a TR team I have personally tested a few times. I can't say I'm proud of my battle record, but that's why I'm here.
Pokemon #1: Reuniclus
Nature: Quiet
Items/Ability: Life Orb/Magic Guard
Moves: Trick Room, Psychic, Shadow Ball, Energy Ball
EV's: 252 HP, 4 Def, 252 Sp. Atk
Reuniclus has been on every single one of my Trick Room teams because he is one of the best options for setting it up. IMO he is able to setup Trick Room, able to take one or two hits, and 2HKO most threats to this team, so I find it appealing. I've given him a Life Orb to boost the power of his moves, and Magic Guard to avoid that pesky HP reduction. I use Psychic to make most things die or take a huge chunk of their HP thanks to STAB, and Shadow Ball and Energy Ball are there for coverage.
Pokemon #2: Amoonguss
Nature: Calm
Items/Ability: Big Root/Effect Spore
Moves: Giga Drain, Rage Powder, Spore, Substitute
EV's: 252 HP, 4 Sp. Atk, 252 Sp. Def
Amoonguss has also been there with Reuniclus for every team. This is because of his ability to attract the hits that would go to Reuniclus and allow Reuniclus to set up TR. Not to mention the decent bulk that usually let's him stay around long enough to Spore someone before he leaves. I know Regenerator would've been better than Effect Spore, but sometimes Effect Spore does it's thing... Sometimes. Giga Drain and Big Root are there for a recovery option, and Substitute is there in case I want Amoonguss to take care of a few things.
Pokemon #3: Sylveon
Nature: Sassy
Items/Ability: Leftovers/Cute Charm
Moves: Moonblast, Light Screen, Reflect, Helping Hand
EV's: 32 HP, 252 Sp. Atk, 220 Sp. Def
Sylveon is the second Eon I've ever put on a TR team- the other being Vaporeon. I gave Sylveon Sassy to take special hits better. It plays more of a supporting role, but I did invest a lot in Sp. Atk because I won't need it to fight very often, but when I do, it'll need to do some damage. It has Dual Screens for the rest of the team, and Helping Hand (which I'll hopefully get to use with Reuniclus) for a nice OHKO on most things from it's partner.
Pokemon #4: Slowking
Nature: Quiet
Items/Ability: Wacan Berry/Oblivious
Moves: Trick Room, Psychic, Scald, Flamethrower
EV's: 252 HP, 252 Sp. Atk, 4 Sp. Def
Slowking is on here because Slowking is a very excellent Pokemon IMO. He is also a back-up to setup TR if I need it, and can do some damage if I don't. I gave him a Wacan Berry to hopefully give it some time to fight back against Electric-types outside of TR, and Oblivious to prevent it from being Taunted. Psychic is my STAB move of choice for Psychic-types, but it's just a personal preference. Scald is there for obvious reasons, and Flamethrower is there to surprise any Ferrothorn trying to wall it.
Pokemon #5: Snorlax
Nature: Brave
Items/Ability: Assault Vest/Thick-Fat
Moves: Rock Slide, Brick Break, Crunch, Heavy Slam
EV's: 252 HP, 252 Atk, 4 Def
Snorlax is one of the Pokemon I decided to put on here because of it's ability to deal with Charizard. I was going to go with a set that included Rest, but I'm not experienced in that department and putting something like that on my VGC team seemed scary to me. I gave it the Assault Vest to deal with special attacks better, which comes in handy against Mega Charizard-Y, and Thick-Fat in general helps against Mega Charizard-X's Flare Blitz. The investment in HP and Attack are to make sure it lives long and hits hard, though I realize that may not always be the case. Heavy Slam is for when Snorlax faces light-weights that might not appreciate it.
Pokemon #6: Ferrothorn
Nature: Brave
Items/Ability: Occa Berry/Iron Barbs
Moves: Curse, Power Whip, Iron Head, Gyro Ball
EV's: 200 HP, 252 Atk, 20 Def, 32 Sp. Def
Ferrothorn has always been on my TR teams, simply because I couldn't see it quite fitting elsewhere. With Brave it reaches speeds even lower than Reuniclus (which is impressive in my eyes). I gave it Curse to power up it's Attack and Defense, while also lowering it's Speed (which it doesn't mind in TR). Power Whip is my main choice against threats like Tyranitar, but Iron Head works just as well most of the time. Gyro Ball is used for fast things that Ferrothorn can tear apart with it's high Attack and very low Speed (especially after a +1/+1/-1 boost in Attack, Defense, and Speed respectively). Occa Berry is there to let it survive (hopefully) a super-effective Fire-type attack that Ferrothorn loathes. The odd defensive investments are merely to try and lessen the pain from some physical and special attacks, instead of just putting it all in HP and Attack.
Well that's my team. I've been looking to improve it, so by all means if you have suggestions feel free to say whatever you'd like.
