UU Victini/Hydreigon Team
This is my first RMT so if I've done anything stupid then I apologize.
Teambuilding Process:
STEP ONE: The main mons.
As you could probably guess from the name I started building the team around Victini and Hydreigon. These two Pokemon have access to moves that are amazingly powerful so I wanted to build a team that would help them (ab)use these powers. These were the Pokemon I wanted to be the star of the show and I think I've definitely succeeded with them. I'll explore the sets in detail later but for now this will be a brief "What the hell was he thinking" sort of thing.
STEP TWO: The hazard support.
I heard that Victini likes walls and spinners (at this point you'll have sussed out that I am relatively new to UU) so I added Forretress who is pretty much the Swiss army knife of hazards in UU. Victini hates Rocks so he can spin them away. They both enjoy hazard support so he can supply it. Simple as that. He also doubles as a nice Physical wall which is a good thing for this team.
STEP THREE: A buddy for Forretress.[SIZE]
So far the team was looking pretty good (in my opinion anyway) but I needed a bulky fire resist so I can keep Forretress alive for as long as it has to be and then maybe a bit longer. Suicune was the bulkiest Water type I could remember being in UU so I decided to use it. I had used Suicune before in OU and I thoroughly enjoyed its RestTalk strategy because it annoyed the people I played.
STEP FOUR: Pink. All the pink.
Of course I wasn't thinking "Get pink stuff onto the team" but that's how it turned out. As far as girl power has gone in the testing it's actually been pretty useful. I added Slurpuff for the same reason I add Talonflame in my OU teams. I love late game sweeping. I have found it extremely useful in OU and I see no reason as to why it should be different here. I also have some appropriate team-mates for Slurpuff as well. Blissey was added as a staple to my team because it lacked a sufficient Special wall. Blissey seems to be a late game waller if your opponent's last Pokemon are Special attackers so I find it very useful.
Any team changes that are made will have the same reason and that is somebody suggested it and I found that it worked.

THE TEAM (I'm leaving the nicknames in. If you want to rate those then fine, go ahead):

Beethoven (Victini) @ Choice Band
Ability: Victory Star
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- V-create
- U-turn
- Bolt Strike
- Zen Headbutt
Choice Band Victini is the best Victini in my opinion. It's plethora of both physical and special moves is great but I like to have the raw power of this thing hitting like a truck. I need not explain this set as it is very standard. I run Zen Headbutt over Trick because I love the power boost Band gives and the very precious STAB.

Ouroboros (Hydreigon) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Dark Pulse
- U-turn
- Fire Blast
Scarfed Hydreigon is an efficient revenge killer of astronomical ('cause Meteor. Geddit? No? Okay.) power. I have used this thing in OU many a time and I had seen its power in the VGC14 worlds (the bit where despite being on -4 SpA it still OHKOs a Pokemon with Draco Meteor). The offensive fairies aren't in this tier which gives Hydreigon more comfortability in summoning nukes. The other sets I could have used were wallbreakers like Victini and I thought that one was enough.

Walnut (Forretress) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Rapid Spin
- Spikes
- Toxic Spikes
- Gyro Ball
Pokemon like Victini and Hydreigon enjoy being to switch in with relatively no hassle and hazard support to make their job easier. It was for this reason that I added Forretress onto the team (that and it resists Fairy). I describe it as the Swiss army knife of hazards for an obvious reason. It has access to a variety of hazards and disposal of them. Forretress was always my favourite spinner in OU and for good reason. For physical attackers, this can be a very tough nut to crack.

MY SWAMP! (Swampert) @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 240 HP / 16 Atk / 252 Def
Relaxed Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Scald
- Earthquake
- Roar
This was suggested to me by boltsandbombers as a replacement for Suicune and so far I have enjoyed using it. It has a respectable amount of bulk and the ability to phase anything that wants to set up on me. It smirks in the face of Victini's V-Create which lets you get the rocks up. I just like it.

WHYYYYYYY?! (Slurpuff) @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Unburden
Happiness: 0
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Belly Drum
- Play Rough
- Frustration
- Flamethrower
Bellypuff can be rather infuriating to say the least. It's STAB Play Rough can devastate teams that are not prepared for it which is why I love it so much. disappointed that Slurpuff can't learn Fire Punch or anything like that but Flamethrower is good enough and Unburden makes up for it by giving a lovely speed boost once I use Belly Drum. This thing loves Victini's presence for reasons I need not go into.

Saturn (Umbreon) @ Leftovers
Ability: Synchronize
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Wish
- Protect
- Foul Play
- Heal Bell
Umbreon, like Swampert, was suggested to me by boltsandbombers as a replacement for Blissey so that it fits on the team a bit more and it isn't just setup fodder. Umbreon does the same job as Blissey and it's sister Sylveon, swap into a special attacker, get off a wish, either protect or switch into a less healthy Pokemon blah blah blah. I enjoy having Wish support mainly for Forretress who has no reliable form of recovery.
Until I make another team:
DELTA, AWAY!
