UU Victini/Hydreigon Team

This is my first RMT so if I've done anything stupid then I apologize.
Teambuilding Process:

STEP ONE: The main mons.
victini.gif
hydreigon.gif

As you could probably guess from the name I started building the team around Victini and Hydreigon. These two Pokemon have access to moves that are amazingly powerful so I wanted to build a team that would help them (ab)use these powers. These were the Pokemon I wanted to be the star of the show and I think I've definitely succeeded with them. I'll explore the sets in detail later but for now this will be a brief "What the hell was he thinking" sort of thing.

STEP TWO: The hazard support.

I heard that Victini likes walls and spinners (at this point you'll have sussed out that I am relatively new to UU) so I added Forretress who is pretty much the Swiss army knife of hazards in UU. Victini hates Rocks so he can spin them away. They both enjoy hazard support so he can supply it. Simple as that. He also doubles as a nice Physical wall which is a good thing for this team.

STEP THREE: A buddy for Forretress.[SIZE]

So far the team was looking pretty good (in my opinion anyway) but I needed a bulky fire resist so I can keep Forretress alive for as long as it has to be and then maybe a bit longer. Suicune was the bulkiest Water type I could remember being in UU so I decided to use it. I had used Suicune before in OU and I thoroughly enjoyed its RestTalk strategy because it annoyed the people I played.

STEP FOUR: Pink. All the pink.

slurpuff.gif
blissey.gif

Of course I wasn't thinking "Get pink stuff onto the team" but that's how it turned out. As far as girl power has gone in the testing it's actually been pretty useful. I added Slurpuff for the same reason I add Talonflame in my OU teams. I love late game sweeping. I have found it extremely useful in OU and I see no reason as to why it should be different here. I also have some appropriate team-mates for Slurpuff as well. Blissey was added as a staple to my team because it lacked a sufficient Special wall. Blissey seems to be a late game waller if your opponent's last Pokemon are Special attackers so I find it very useful.

Any team changes that are made will have the same reason and that is somebody suggested it and I found that it worked.
Now for the more important bit.

THE TEAM (I'm leaving the nicknames in. If you want to rate those then fine, go ahead):
494.png

Beethoven (Victini) @ Choice Band
Ability: Victory Star
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- V-create
- U-turn
- Bolt Strike
- Zen Headbutt

Choice Band Victini is the best Victini in my opinion. It's plethora of both physical and special moves is great but I like to have the raw power of this thing hitting like a truck. I need not explain this set as it is very standard. I run Zen Headbutt over Trick because I love the power boost Band gives and the very precious STAB.

635.png

Ouroboros (Hydreigon) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Dark Pulse
- U-turn
- Fire Blast

Scarfed Hydreigon is an efficient revenge killer of astronomical ('cause Meteor. Geddit? No? Okay.) power. I have used this thing in OU many a time and I had seen its power in the VGC14 worlds (the bit where despite being on -4 SpA it still OHKOs a Pokemon with Draco Meteor). The offensive fairies aren't in this tier which gives Hydreigon more comfortability in summoning nukes. The other sets I could have used were wallbreakers like Victini and I thought that one was enough.

205.png

Walnut (Forretress) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Rapid Spin
- Spikes
- Toxic Spikes
- Gyro Ball

Pokemon like Victini and Hydreigon enjoy being to switch in with relatively no hassle and hazard support to make their job easier. It was for this reason that I added Forretress onto the team (that and it resists Fairy). I describe it as the Swiss army knife of hazards for an obvious reason. It has access to a variety of hazards and disposal of them. Forretress was always my favourite spinner in OU and for good reason. For physical attackers, this can be a very tough nut to crack.

260.png

MY SWAMP! (Swampert) @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 240 HP / 16 Atk / 252 Def
Relaxed Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Scald
- Earthquake
- Roar

This was suggested to me by boltsandbombers as a replacement for Suicune and so far I have enjoyed using it. It has a respectable amount of bulk and the ability to phase anything that wants to set up on me. It smirks in the face of Victini's V-Create which lets you get the rocks up. I just like it.

685.png

WHYYYYYYY?! (Slurpuff) @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Unburden
Happiness: 0
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Belly Drum
- Play Rough
- Frustration
- Flamethrower

Bellypuff can be rather infuriating to say the least. It's STAB Play Rough can devastate teams that are not prepared for it which is why I love it so much. disappointed that Slurpuff can't learn Fire Punch or anything like that but Flamethrower is good enough and Unburden makes up for it by giving a lovely speed boost once I use Belly Drum. This thing loves Victini's presence for reasons I need not go into.

197.png

Saturn (Umbreon) @ Leftovers
Ability: Synchronize
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Wish
- Protect
- Foul Play
- Heal Bell

Umbreon, like Swampert, was suggested to me by boltsandbombers as a replacement for Blissey so that it fits on the team a bit more and it isn't just setup fodder. Umbreon does the same job as Blissey and it's sister Sylveon, swap into a special attacker, get off a wish, either protect or switch into a less healthy Pokemon blah blah blah. I enjoy having Wish support mainly for Forretress who has no reliable form of recovery.

Until I make another team:
DELTA, AWAY!

Hi, nice team :]
I really like Hydreitini, it has great synergy and offensive power -also pairs nicely with forretress. I dont have much to suggest with the first four pokemon on your team, but I am not so sure about slurpuff and blissey.
What you have so far is a balanced offense team, which is not where blissey does well on. It is more meant for full stall teams due to how passive it is. If you really feel you need a wish passer or cleric, I would use umbreon because it isnt complete setup fodder due to foul play. I assume you know what standard umbreon is, if not - here is the set:

umbreon.gif

Umbreon @ Leftovers
Ability: Synchronize
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Wish
- Heal Bell
- Foul Play
- Protect

Also, I dont feel that slurpuff is necessary as you already have a very reliable win condition / sweeper in suicune, which does massive work against many teams. I would suggest Using swampert over suicune, as it can phase out sweepers if your other team members can handle them and it can easily switch into victini with the exception of energy ball. Yes, hydreigon does take on Victini's main STAB attacks, but it doesnt appreciate taking a banded V-create.
Here is the set:

swampert.gif

Swampert @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 240 HP / 16 Atk / 252 Def
Relaxed Nature
- Scald
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Roar

Hope this helped :)
This has helped a great deal. I will be sure to test these two out on my team and if they work then I'll probably keep them in permanently.

Just wondering, who was Swampert supposed to replace? You say that you're not sure Slurpuff should be on the team but then you say that it should replace Suicune which I find a bit confusing.

I really like what you have here, but I'd like it a bit better if Bellypuff didn't run subs. Its physical movepool is so shockingly shallow though that there's nothing else you can do to give it much coverage- however. In UU a pokemon that would give slur fits is forretress- which is pretty common. Play rough and frustration couldn't touch it. It may not be a great solution as it is gimmicky, but if you ran flamethrower:

0- SpA Slurpuff Flamethrower vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Forretress: 204-240 (57.7 - 67.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

so basically if you can predict the switch you can clean up Slur's best check in UU before he can even breathe. Now if you are hell bent on wanting subs (which I would advise, due to the ever present Sableye WoW) maybe a sub pass/cleric set on Umbreon consisting of (heal bell, wish, sub, bat pass) could work to toss slur some help.

Just a thought, if you like subpuff then feel free to keep it! that's just food for thought

I had considered running Flamethrower over Sub before I posted the RMT for that same reason but I didn't know if it was viable or not. Now that I do know I'll be sure to run it.
