Choice Scarf Victini compresses speed control and a way to check several dangerous offensive threats in Mega Medicham, Tapu Lele, and Mega Charizard Y, along with crippling the opposition thanks to Trick and Final Gambit or pummeling them with strong V-creates. U-turn makes Victini a great scout and momentum grabber, taking advantage of forced switches to bring its teammates in unscathed. Trick is a great way to cripple walls like Slowbro, Heatran, and Toxapex, forcing them to lose momentum every time they come in. Final Gambit can eliminate a defensive target entirely, as well as getting a teammate in freely, though this comes at the cost of Victini itself. Therefore, use it with caution if there's another threat Victini wants to check. Maximum HP investment allows Victini to make the most of its Final Gambit while improving its overall bulk to let it check Pokemon like Tapu Lele and Mega Medicham better.

Victini fits on offensively geared teams, with hyper offensive teams in particular enjoying its ability to sacrifice itself to take out a defensive Pokemon they may not be able to break through. Therefore, hyper offensive staples like Rillaboom, Mega Gyarados, and Mega Garchomp make excellent partners. Suicide lead variants of Landorus-T can aid Victini in this role by setting up Stealth Rock and exploding on key defensive targets like Zapdos. This in conjunction with Victini's Final Gambit can often mean that the remaining teammates can clean up very easily. Bulkier offense archetypes enjoy Victini's defensive utility, as its ability to pivot in on huge threats like Mega Charizard Y, Tapu Lele, and Mega Medicham is often a godsend for them. Victini likes to get in unharmed so it can take advantage of its bulk as best as possible, so pivots like Corviknight, Blissey, and Slowbro make good teammates. Similarly, Defoggers like Zapdos and the aforementioned Corviknight make excellent partners because they can remove Stealth Rock, which often hinders Victini's defensive utility. Pokemon that appreciate Victini crippling or KOing Pokemon like Heatran, Landorus-T, and Slowbro, such as Mega Mawile, Tapu Koko, and Gliscor, make fantastic partners. Victini can struggle with sturdy Ground-types like Garchomp and Landorus-T that can tank its V-creates decently while wearing it down with Rocky Helmet or Rough Skin, so Pokemon like Weavile, Kyurem, and Ash-Greninja are good choices to deal with them. These three also appreciate Victini's ability to bait in these Ground-types and U-turn on them.

A Heavy-Duty Boots set with V-create / Bolt Strike / U-turn / Toxic can be used as a decent check to Pokemon like Tapu Lele and Mega Latias while being difficult to wear down thanks to its immunity to hazards.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Pursuit Trappers**: Weavile and both Tyranitar formes are able to trap a Victini locked into V-create, eliminating it from the game entirely. However, all of them are smacked by U-turn and Final Gambit, so they need to be wary of directly switching in.

**Fire-resistant Pokemon**: Heatran, Garchomp, Toxapex, Slowbro, and Mega Slowbro take V-create very well and aren't bothered too much by U-turn, with Garchomp in particular chipping Victini with Rough Skin every time it goes for these moves. However, all of them need to watch out for Final Gambit, and all of them barring Z-Move Heatran and Mega Slowbro need to be wary of Trick.

**Ground-types**: Garchomp, Landorus-T, and Gliscor are an incredible annoyance fo Victini, as they can tank a V-create and then outspeed Victini and KO it with their STAB move. All of them can be crippled by Trick, but Landorus-T and Garchomp can carry a Z-Move, and Gliscor's Toxic Orb will ruin Victini's longevity by poisoning it.

Choice Scarf Victini compresses speed control and a way to check several metagame staples such as?, while crippling the opposition thanks to Trick and Final Gambit, as well as strong V-creates to pummel opposing offensive teams. U-turn makes Victini a great scout and momentum grabber, taking advantage of forced switches to bring its teammates in unscathed. Trick is a great way to cripple opposing walls like Slowbro it's worth adding another few examples, forcing them to lose momentum every time they come in. Final Gambit is another way to cripple a defensive target by eliminating it entirely, talk about how it can generate momentum for its offensive teammates through this move though this comes at the cost of Victini itself. Therefore, use it with caution if not on a hyper offense team. Maximum HP investment allows Victini to make the most of its Final Gambit, while improving its overall bulk to let it check threats better. Maximum Speed lets Vicyini get the jump on several crucial targets, such as Mega Latias, Kartana, Choice Scarf Landorus-T, and Zeraora. fluff

Victini fits on offensively-geared teams, with hyper offensive teams in particular enjoying its ability to sacrifice itself for a defensive Pokemon they may bot be able to break through. As such, hyper offensie offensive staples like Rilaboom, Cinderace, Magearna, Mega Gyarados, and Mega Garchomp, make excellent partners. Suicide lead variants of Landorus-T can aid Victini in this role by setting up Stealth Rock and Exploding on key defensive targets like Zapdos. Pokemon that appreciate Victini weakening or KOing Pokemon like Heatran, Landorus-T, and Slowbro, such as Mega Mawile, Tapu Koko, and Gliscor, make fantastic partners. worth mentioning pokemon that can check ground-types that victini usually struggles with

A Heavy-Duty Boots set with V-Create / Bolt Strike / U-turn / Toxic can be used as a decent check to Pokemon like Tapu Lele, Magearna, and Mega Latias, while being difficult to wear down thanks to its immunity to hazards. However, this set is mostly outclassed by Cinderace, who trades the defensive utility for a stronger offensive presence and higher Speed, as well as Libero making it far more threatening.

Therefore, use it with caution if not on a hyper offense team. I don't like that this implies that it can be just thrown out willy-nilly on ho, as oftentimes Tini wants to pivot out and save Final Gambit for later in the game or a specific target. Just reword this a bit. Maximum HP investment allows Victini to make the most of its Final Gambit, while improving its overall bulk to let it check threats like? better.
