Vigilante vs. CaptainKishimoto (Warstory)

So I'm back again, with another Warstory. This time around, it was an extremely close game, but you'll have to read on to see how it ends ;)

So my team has two new members: Gengar and Infernape. This is because Arcanine/Mismagius got raped as soon as they set foot onto the field, and weren't much help otherwise. So lets see what the changes brought...

---

Vigilante sent out Breloom.
CaptainKishimoto sent out Scizor.

So I find out that his first Pokemon is a Breloom, which turns out to be quite interesting. I know that most (hopefully all) Breloom's have spore, which is quite deadly. Knowing that, I knew I had to kill it. However the big question is would he switch out, or would he stay thinking/knowing that his Breloom is faster? I just prayed to god hoping that he would stay, and that his Breloom didn't have a Jolly nature.

Scizor used Aerial Ace.
It's super effective!
Breloom lost 289% of its health.
Vigilante's Breloom fainted.

6-5

Well that saved me from the sleep of death, good work Scizor! Onto the next threat.

Vigilante switched in Infernape.
CaptainKishimoto switched in Milotic.
Infernape used Flamethrower.
It's not very effective...
Milotic lost 23% of its health.
Infernape lost 10% of its health.
Milotic's leftovers restored its health a little!
Milotic restored 6% of its health.

As soon as he sent out Infernape, I knew he was going to use some sort of Fire type attack, so I swapped in my Milotic. I also learned that his Infernape has a Life Orb. At this point, I thought he'd swap out. Therefore I tried my hand on Hypnosis.

Infernape used Grass Knot.
It's super effective!
Milotic lost 47% of its health.
Infernape lost 10% of its health.
Milotic used Hypnosis.
Infernape fell asleep!
Milotic's leftovers restored its health a little!
Milotic restored 6% of its health.

Well that backfired, sort of. The good thing is that my Milotic's Hypnosis got him, the bad news is she's half dead. Anyways, for some reason I didn't think he'd swap out, so I tried using Hydro Pump.

Vigilante switched in Blissey.
Milotic used Hydro Pump.
Milotic's attack missed!
Milotic's leftovers restored its health a little!
Milotic restored 6% of its health.

Wow, not only did Hydro Pump miss, but now I have to deal with Blissey. Grrr...time to call in Infernape!

CaptainKishimoto switched in Infernape.
Blissey used Aromatherapy.
Vigilante switched in Starmie.
Infernape used Close Combat.
It's not very effective...
Starmie lost 52% of its health.
Infernape's defence was lowered.
Infernape's special defence was lowered.
Starmie's leftovers restored its health a little!
Starmie restored 6% of its health.

Great now his Infernape is no longer asleep thanks to the magic of Aromatherapy. The bad news doesn't just stop there, he also swaps in Starmie which reduces the power of my CB CC. =[ Well I didn't want to swap in my Gengar in fear of Psychic, so I swapped Milotic back in.

CaptainKishimoto switched in Milotic.
Starmie used Surf.
It's not very effective...
A critical hit!
Milotic lost 31% of its health.
Starmie's leftovers restored its health a little!
Starmie restored 6% of its health.
Milotic's leftovers restored its health a little!
Milotic restored 6% of its health.

Knowing he would probably use a Electric type attack (most likely Thunderbolt), I knew I had to switch it up. Although I could've swapped in Garchomp, I again was afraid his Starmie had Ice Beam or something. So I swapped in Scizor.

CaptainKishimoto switched in Scizor.
Starmie used Thunderbolt.
Scizor lost 38% of its health.
Starmie's leftovers restored its health a little!
Starmie restored 6% of its health.

It is as expected, so now its my turn to dish out some damage.

Starmie used Thunderbolt.
Scizor lost 35% of its health.
Scizor used X-Scissor.
It's super effective!
Starmie lost 162% of its health.
Vigilante's Starmie fainted.

6-4

Thank god I got rid of Starmie, I don't know how many times I got screwed over by that stupid thing. I probably should've let my Scizor die since he had low HP, but since I was anticipating a Flamethrower, I swapped in Garchomp.

Vigilante switched in Infernape.
CaptainKishimoto switched in Garchomp.
Infernape used Close Combat.
Garchomp lost 52% of its health.
Infernape's defence was lowered.
Infernape's special defence was lowered.
Infernape lost 10% of its health.

Wow backfired again, now my Garchomp has a huge dent in its HP. Thinking that he'd probably use CC again, I swapped in Gengar.

CaptainKishimoto switched in Gengar.
Infernape used Close Combat.
It doesn't affect Gengar...

So far so good. Now I don't know what I was thinking, but for some reason I thought he'd send out a Psychic pokemon, so I used Shadow Ball.

Gengar used Shadow Ball.
Infernape lost 167% of its health.
Vigilante's Infernape fainted.

6-3

Can't argue with result I suppose, onto the next challenger!

Vigilante switched in Blissey.
CaptainKishimoto switched in Infernape.
Blissey used Ice Beam.
It's not very effective...
Infernape lost 16% of its health.
Infernape was frozen solid!

Wow, if anyone looked up the definition of gay in the dictionary, you would see Blissey freezing my Infernape. So now I got a perfectly useless Infernape, so I just let him stay out there.

Vigilante switched in Kabutops.
Infernape is frozen solid!
CaptainKishimoto switched in Milotic.
Kabutops used Rain Dance.
Rain began to fall!
The rain continues to fall.
Milotic's leftovers restored its health a little!
Milotic restored 6% of its health.

Ok there are 2 things that really screwed me up. The first is I've never seen a Kabutops used, ever. This really confused me, which caused my second mistake, sending in Milotic. After that switch, I later remembered that Kabutops was a Physical attacker. Not only that, but with Rain Dance in tact, his Swift Swim would give him the advantage for 5 turns.

Kabutops used Stone Edge.
Milotic lost 49% of its health.
CaptainKishimoto's Milotic fainted.
The rain continues to fall.

5-3

At this point, I thought I was going to lose, as half of my Pokemon were in critical condition. That and he still had one Pokemon left that wasn't revealed yet.

CaptainKishimoto switched in Scizor.
Kabutops used Stone Edge.
Scizor lost 63% of its health.
CaptainKishimoto's Scizor fainted.
The rain continues to fall.

4-3

So the sweeping begins. I hoped that my Gengar would do some major hacks and somehow outrun his stupid Kabutops.

CaptainKishimoto switched in Gengar.
Kabutops used Stone Edge.
Gengar lost 109% of its health.
CaptainKishimoto's Gengar fainted.
The rain continues to fall.

3-3

Guess not, oh well. I sent out Infernape because he was frozen, and I was pretty sure he was going to die anyways.

CaptainKishimoto switched in Infernape.
Kabutops used Waterfall.
It's super effective!
Infernape lost 181% of its health.
CaptainKishimoto's Infernape fainted.
The rain continues to fall.

2-3

Major comeback for Vigilante, I admit that. I only have 2 Pokemon left: Tyranitar and a half dead Garchomp. I sent out Tyranitar because I thought he'd be able to take a hit or so. In hindsight, I should've sent him out earlier so his Sand Stream would cancel out his Rain Dance.

CaptainKishimoto switched in Tyranitar.
Tyranitar's Sand Stream whipped up a sandstorm!
The rain stopped.
A sandstorm brewed!
Kabutops used Waterfall.
It's super effective!
Tyranitar lost 76% of its health.
Tyranitar used Earthquake.
It's super effective!
Kabutops lost 84% of its health.
The sandstorm rages.

Good ol' Tyranitar, he managed to stay alive and deal some major damage to Kabutops. I was pretty sure he was going to die, but it was enough to stop the onslaught.

Kabutops used Waterfall.
It's super effective!
Tyranitar lost 74% of its health.
CaptainKishimoto's Tyranitar fainted.
The sandstorm rages.

1-3

Thank you Tyranitar, your tremendous sacrifice will not be in vain. All thats left now is my Garchomp, hopefully he'll be able to carry me with the odds against me.

CaptainKishimoto switched in Garchomp.
Garchomp used Dragon Claw.
Kabutops lost 64% of its health.
Vigilante's Kabutops fainted.
Garchomp lost 10% of its health.
The sandstorm rages.

1-2

I finally managed to kill his stupid Kabutops, but my Garchomp still has low HP. I just really hope his last pokemon doesn't have Extreme Speed or something stupid like that. He also has a Blissey, and from what I remember she has Ice Beam. It's all a matter of luck now.

Vigilante switched in Electivire.
Garchomp used Earthquake.
It's super effective!
Electivire lost 255% of its health.
Vigilante's Electivire fainted.
Garchomp lost 10% of its health.
The sandstorm rages.

1-1

Well apparently he didn't have a Pokemon fast enough to take down Garchomp, so that just leaves me and Blissey. If I for some reason I am not able to kill Blissey, I'm screwed. So here it goes...

Vigilante switched in Blissey.
Garchomp used Earthquake.
Blissey lost 132% of its health.
Vigilante's Blissey fainted.
CaptainKishimoto wins!

Hooray, I won. This was a pretty close battle, but I managed to come up on top somehow.

Props:
  • Scizor took down 2 major threats
  • Milotic taking tons of damage
  • Garchomp sweeps me the win

Slops:
  • Blissey froze my Infernape
  • Kabutops sweeping most of my team
  • Terrible time to put in Tyranitar

Thank you for reading, and if there is anything you want me to add, just reply. =D

Interesting battle, you both seem to lack signature walls (well he had blissey but then he had no physical walls whatsoever). I ran across a Rain Dance team before and they got rid of my main physical walls and kabutops just ran over my team too. As you mentioned earlier, a mistake on your part not running TTar out right away to ruin the rain, but hopefully you learn from your mistake in future battles. Good job on the win and pretty interesting story (definently fast paced since both sides didn't have much walling ability).

Wow, I've never even seen a Kabutops used competitively, let alone see it sweep half a team.
Kabutops is underrated, probably the best swift swim user. When he gets in under the right conditions he can just wreck a team. Sandstorm teams do screw with it, though.

An odd Milotic you're running here. remember that Milotic can wall physical attacks, especially with Marvel Scale activated by Resting or switching into status. just because her Special Defense stat is higher than her physical defense doesnt mean you should just throw defense out the window and make her Calm. in fact, most preferred Milotics are Bold with maxed Defense, and running Surf over Hydro Pump.

No walls = Sadness + Fragile 1HKO pokemon swapping, TTar should've been immediate thought after your first pokemon was lost to Rain Dance-Waterfall,

Synopsis: Although the end result was close, the defensive caliber of both teams could have as easily made it a 6-0, 0-6 battle. Lack of Gliscor, Weezing, Cresselia, Hippowdon, Slowbro, Skarmory. Resists "may" help but in the end without resists+recovery moves+120 defense totals you won't be walling much.
