Vigoroth @ Eviolite
Ability: Vital Spirit
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Bulk Up
- Facade / Body Slam
- Knock Off
- Slack Off
This pesky sloth finds itself as one of NFE's most threatening bulky setup sweepers thanks to its solid bulk, Knock Off to force progress, and reliable recovery to allow it to set up multiple times in a game. Facade allows Vigoroth to still be a threat while being statused from Pokemon like Koffing, Tinkatuff, and Ivysaur. Alternatively, Body Slam trades off punishing status moves in exchange for higher base damage before status and the ability to spread paralysis. Knock Off allows Vigoroth to cripple switch-ins like Tinkatuff and Hisuian Sliggoo while also allowing it to hit Ghost-types such as Drakloak. Vigoroth relies on its Eviolite to reliably set up and sweep through teams, so Knock Off absorbers like Tinkatuff, Quaxwell, and Clefairy are good to have. Even after a Bulk Up, powerful Fighting-types like Monferno and Pignite can still break through Vigoroth, so checks like Quaxwell and Mareanie are great teammates. Finally, entry hazards from Frogadier and Dunsparce can benefit Vigoroth by wearing down switch-ins like Tinkatuff and Naclstack.
