[SET]
Bulk Up (Vigoroth) @ Eviolite
Ability: Vital Spirit
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Bulk Up
- Facade / Body Slam
- Knock Off
- Slack Off
[SET COMMENTS]
Vigoroth is a monstrous threat at all stages of the game, being able to effectively create openings early with Knock Off and clean up late-game with Bulk Up thanks to its nearly peerless speed and seldom resisted offenses. Facade is usually opted for as a STAB option because it punishes the fact that most teams rely on status to check it long-term. However, Body Slam is also a good option because of it's consistent power and Paralysis chance. Slack Off provides critical sustain and allows Vigoroth to soft-check certain attackers like Piloswine and Girafarig.
Vigoroth needs teammates that can comfortably switch into Thunder Wave and Knock Off, in general but especially from Tinkatuff. Piloswine and Naclstack can absorb the former while offering hazard support, Thief Koffing and Pickpocket Tinkatuff make progress of off the latter while serving as important defensive stopgaps to wallbreakers like Thwackey and Servine. Vigoroth also appreciates pivots like Quaxwell and Thwackey that can quickly bring it into Knock Off fodder like a spinblocking Misdreavius or a Sap Sipper Girafarig.

Other Options
=============
While it's difficult to fit, Vigoroth is an amazing user of Taunt. It effectively shuts down setup from Girafarig and Duosion, hazards and status moves from Tinkatuff and recovery moves from defensive staples like Quaxwell and Ivysaur. Dropping a STAB move or Knock Off for Stomping Tantrum hurts Vigoroth's overrall consistency but can completely demolish common defensive structures that rely on Steel-types to check it.
Checks and Counters
===================
**Tinkatuff**: As a ubiquitous metagame staple and the only Pokemon to resist Vigoroth's standard coverage, Tinkatuff is often the main barrier to a sweep, threatening Vigoroth with Thunder Wave and Encore. While Tinkatuff itself hates being knocked, it can steal Vigoroths Eviolite with Pickpocket and can severely limit it's setup opportunities.
**Fighting-types**: Monferno, Pignite and Libero Raboot all immediately threaten Vigoroth and force it out.
**Status Users**: Thunder Wave from Tinkatuff and Drakloak, Toxic from Ivysaur and Glimmet and Will-O-Wisp from Misdreavus can all make Vigoroth defensively manageable or enable opposing setup threats like Girafarig to beat it one-on-one.
**Item Disruption**: Vigoroth's ability to setup and break teams is hampered by both the omnipresent Knock Off and Choice Item + Trick from the likes of Misdreavus, Frogadier and Girafarig.
