Virizion and friends.

Hey all. This is the current team I've been using, I've ranked at around 375 on the main server on PO. Anways, here it is.

I wanted to use Virizion as it's my favorite Pokemon of this get. Great bulk, typing. Love it.

I needed something that would pair up with Virizion in the typing department and Heatran was the obvious choice, it takes Flying, Ice and Fire attacks so nicely it was hard not to choose this.

I wanted to make some kind of FWG core. I've used Slowbro on other teams and it's tanking ability is amazing.

Obvious need of a revenge killer and priority user. Scizor was the best choice, it attracts Fire attacks for Heatran and has powerful STAB moves.

Now for a lead. Mamoswine has been great on my other teams, so why not use him again.

Now for someone to fill the holes in my team. I've heard about SubDisable Gengar, so I wanted to use him.

Now for sets.

mamoswine.png

Mamoswine (M) @ Focus Sash
Trait: Snow Cloak
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Stealth Rock
- Ice Shard
- Earthquake
- Endeavor

Damn. So fun to use. Not only does Mamoswine setup rocks, Endeavor+Priority pretty awesome. It catches a lot of leads offguard and can sometimes take out 2-3 Pokemon. It has trouble with bulkier leads like Hippo, but other than that, he's great.

virizion.jpg

Virizion @ Leftovers
Trait: Justified
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Giga Drain
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Focus Blast

Star of the show? Virizion is so good. I can easily set up on any non-boosting special attacker, such as Jellicent, but I should be warry of Toxic. The set is pretty straight-forward. Focus Blast is a turn-off, but it does a lot of damage to anything that does resist it. Giga Drain is the move I'll usually go with because it's STAB and can heal some of my HP.

Scizor-2.png

Scizor (M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Technician
EVs: 184 HP / 252 Atk / 72 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- U-turn
- Superpower
- Bullet Punch
- Quick Attack

Yea... Nothing strange about this set, except maybe Quick Attack. I use Quick Attack instead of Pursuit for things like Kingdra, Volcarona, Thunderous, etc. The Speed EVs are to outspeed Politoad with 0 Speed EVs. It also outspeeds Skarmory and Jellicent.

Slowbro.jpg

Slowbro (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Regenerator
EVs: 224 HP / 252 Def / 32 SAtk
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Toxic
- Slack Off
- Fire Blast
- Scald
Physical wall. It hits 350 Defence, which is enough wall a good portion of the meta-game. Excadrill's X-Scissor does around 45% and Scald OHKOs. I thought of using Jellicent for this slot, but Ferrathorn walls Jellicent all day. Slowbro on the other hand actually 2HKOs SDef Ferrathorn with Fire Blast. I went with Toxic because it makes walls like Rotom-W, Lati@s and Jellicent pretty useless.

heatran.png

Heatran (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Substitute
- Will-O-Wisp
- Earth Power
- Lava Plume
The last member of my core. Heatran is Virizion's best friend, and with this set, Virizion always gets at least +2 boosts. Will-O-Wisp is what makes this set stand out. It screws over any Garchomp, Gyarados or Tyranitar switch-ins. Lava Plume might sound a little dumb with Will-O-Wisp, but I think it helps a lot when I need to do damage, the burn is just an added bonus. Earth Power gives me coverage and can KO other Heatrans without a baloon.

gengar.png

Gengar (M) @ Black Sludge
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Substitute
- Disable
- Focus Blast
- Shadow Ball
Such a beast, really. I used to think SubSplit would be the only set I'd ever run, but with the rise of dual-move attackers such as SubSD Garchomp, Conkledurr, Reuniclus, Toxicroak, etc. I resorted to SubDisable. He causes so many switches and can do a bunch of damage with his two attacks. Focus Blast and Shadow Ball for the unresisted coverage; except for other SubDisable Gengars. ;)

Anyways, that's the team.
