This team was initially build for the March's UU dark horse project, but I enjoyed playing this team even after this. It actually peaked an elo of 1450 with 76 of GXE. That's not so bad, but i thing this team could be improved a little.

virizion.gif

Virizion @ Lum Berry
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Leaf Blade
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge

So I wanted to build around Virizion. With Swords Dance, Virizion is a dangerous late game sweeper. Close Combat and Leaf Blade are it's two stabbed moves. Stone Edge is here for cripple Crobats on perdicted switch ins and to deal with non scarfed (and non boosted) Salamence who could otherwhise wall Virizion. Lum Berry is a nice item for using mons like Suicune as a setup fodder without fearing scald burns.

bronzong.gif

Bronzong @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Stealth Rock
- Gyro Ball
- Toxic
- Earthquake

I next needed a Stealth Rock setter in order to make easy Virizion's sweep and I choosed Bronzong because it can wall and take down flying type mons like Crobat or Aerodactyl who could easily stop Virizion. That's why I choosed Gyro Ball over Iron Head because Gyro Ball can deal serious damages to those mons. Toxic and Earthquake are nice against mons who could attempt to set up on Bronzong, especially Lucario who could deal serious damage to my team at +2.

vaporeon.gif

Vaporeon @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 204 HP / 248 Def / 56 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Wish
- Scald
- Protect
- Heal Bell

Bronzong and Virizion shared a commun weakness : the fire type. So, I took Vaporeon as the third member of this team. I usually use wish and switch this out in order to pass it to another member of team out but this thing could also win some 1v1 per exemple against Sacred Fire locked Entei or Nidoqueen (without Thunderbolt). Heal bell is nice against stalling teams.

dragalge.gif

Dragalge @ Draco Plate
Ability: Adaptability
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Haze
- Draco Meteor
- Hydro Pump
- Sludge Wave

My team lacked of a powerfull special attacker, so I added Dragalge in order to pressure a little my openent. I absolutely wanted to run Haze mainly for ruin CurseLax who could even tank my Virizion after some Curses. While playing, I founded Haze even more awesome because I could spam Draco Meteors and deal massive damage without fearing to be a setup fodder for mons like SD Cobalion or even Gyarados.

heliolisk.gif

Heliolisk @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Dry Skin
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 30 Def
- Grass Knot
- Volt Switch
- Hyper Voice
- Hidden Power [Ice]

My team was pretty slow and was weak to Dragon Dance Salamence who could finish me if Bronzong was weakened enough to be KOed by a Fire Blast or even an Outrage. Sceptile-Mega was also a huge threat to this team, so I choosed to run Choice Scarf Heliolisk in order to get rid of these mons by luring them (especially Sceptile-Mega). Grass Knot is here only for ruin Swamperts and the rare Seismitoads.

mandibuzz.gif

Mandibuzz @ Leftovers
Ability: Overcoat
EVs: 240 HP / 216 Def / 52 Spe
Impish Nature
- Roost
- Foul Play
- Taunt
- Defog

The only thing I didn't have was a entry hazard controller and my choice was Mandibuzz because it gives me a second reliable DD Mence counter and also a reliable Doublade counter. Taunt is a good combo with Toxic Bronzong because Mandibuzz can taunt mons like Crocune or Curselax prevent them from getting dangerous.

It's all, I hope I will get feedbacks that could help me optimize this team and sorry for my bad english :c.

Hey man, cool looking team you have got going. I can however see some annoying weaknesses that i'm gonna try to fix!

• This team is really weak to Cobalion and I can also see the fire spam being an issue, knowking that vaporeon has trouble to deal with Entei/Nasty Plot Infernape. That is why I'd like to suggest running Swampert over Vaporeon. You lose your cleric for a much more reliable answer to the things Vaporeon is supposed to beat but Swampert also gives you an electric immunity which is really important. It also does a better job at beating Cobalion and Fire Spam in general.

• Using Swampert means that you dont need to run stealth rocks anymore that is why I think you should go with Escavalier over Bronzong. Standart lefovers Escavalier would give you a much better answer to Alakazam which was otherwise hell of a threat. It also gives you another really solid answer to Sceptile Mega.

• Your team currently lacks a mega slot and I believe that using Aerodactly-Mega over Heliolisk is a really good change. Aerodactly-Mega gives you a fantastic revenge killer thanks to Pursuit + Its really high speed and it also means that you have a much easier time dealing with things like Chandelure.

Toxic Spikes over Hydro Pump would fit the team perfectly. Toxic spikes is a really good move in this metagame and you dont have any actual need for Hydro Pump.

• Mamoswine is really annoying, and you could possibly use Yache Berry over Lum Berry to tank Ice Shards better but Lum still works fine most of the time.

Dragalge @ Black Sludge
Ability: Adaptability
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Modest Nature
- Toxic Spikes
- Draco Meteor
- Sludge Wave
- Haze

Escavalier @ Leftovers
Ability: Swarm
EVs: 200 HP / 56 Atk / 252 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Iron Head
- Drill Run
- Megahorn

Aerodactyl-Mega @ Aerodactylite
Ability: Tough Claws
EVs: 212 Atk / 44 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Aerial Ace
- Stone Edge
- Pursuit
- Aqua Tail

Swampert @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Roar
- Scald

Many changes there but I feel like the team is much better now. Hope I helped!

Hey there! Interesting team you've got coming along, but it can use some improvement. Here are a few adjustments you can try out to have an easier time using it in the metagame.

  • One of the first things that I noticed is that your team has no Draco switch-ins, which is pretty much mandatory for almost every team. Common Draco Meteor users like Hydreigon and Salamence seem like they can do a lot of work against your team. I suggest replacing Bronzong with Specially Defensive Empoleon. This change makes those Draco Meteor users much less threatening to your team since you can switch into them. Taunt/Roost variants of Hydreigon may still be a problem, but that set is also more manageable than Scarf variants since you have a couple of things on your team that can outspeed it. Empoleon also offers some much needed role compression to your team, since it is able to run both Stealth Rock and Defog, and usually runs Roar in the last slot as well. Your team currently doesn't have a phazer, so Roar will be very helpful. Defog on Empoleon allows your team to have other options with Mandibuzz's slot. Note that this change makes your team a lot more vulnerable to a +2 MAbomasnow. It also makes Slurpuff much more threatening after a Belly Drum. You'll want to play aggressively in order to avoid giving either of these pokes a free turn to setup. Here's the set:

empoleon.gif

Empoleon @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 248 HP / 8 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Defog
- Stealth Rock
- Roar

  • Scarf Heliolisk is incredibly underwhelming with how weak it is. It can't even act as a proper counter to Suicune, one of the main threats that Heliolisk is meant to counter. Suicune can just click Calm Mind while you switch into Heliolisk and is able to PP stall you from there. I strongly suggest running Choice Specs instead. This gives Heliolisk some much needed power and makes it a lot more threatening. Choice Specs allow Heliolisk to actually beat Suicune like it is supposed to. You lose the extra speed to revenge kill that a Choice Scarf offers, but some of my changes further in this post will help with that issue.

  • The team is quite slow, and Choice Scarf Heliolisk wasn't the best way to address that problem anyway. I noticed that you weren't taking advantage of your open mega slot as well, which this team could easily make use of. I suggest replacing Dragalge with Mega Beedrill. Mega Beedrill offers the team really good natural speed, meaning you don't have to rely on a Choice Scarf being in tact and aren't locked into one move. It also makes for a really good partner with Heliolisk by giving the team a Volturn core. Heliolisk is able to take advantage of a lot of the common switch ins to MBee and vice versa. You get to keep some of the wallbreaking presence that Dragalge had to offer, as well as the grounded poison typing so that you can absorb Toxic Spikes. MBee gives your team a better fairy resist as well, since Empoleon isn't really able to threaten fairy types. The high speed that it has means that you'll have an easier time with the aforementioned Taunt Hydreigon, a very threatening Alakazam, Mega Houndoom, Scarfed Chandelure, and a bunch of other threats. Another reason to add MBee in this slot is because your team seems like it would struggle to take down bulky psychic types like Reuniclus, Slowking, and Cresselia, all of which become much easier to take down with MBee's presence. You will want to run Drill Run so that you don't give a huge threat in Lucario a free turn to set up a Swords Dance, which it could sweep with afterwards. Cobalion is another threat that Drill Run helps with. Anyways, here's the set:

beedrill-mega.gif

Beedrill-Mega @ Beedrillite
Ability: Adaptability
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Poison Jab
- Drill Run
- Protect
- U-turn

  • With the addition of Empoleon, the team no longer needs Mandibuzz for a defogger. The team has also lost its revenge killer by replacing Heliolisk's Scarf. To make up for this, I would suggest replacing Mandibuzz with Scarfed Hydreigon. This change gives gives you what is widely considered the best Choice Scarf user / Revenge Killer in the tier. This would make it much easier to take down threats like Mega Aerodactyl and most other Choice Scarf users that would outspeed Mega Beedrill. Scarf Hydreigon also makes a pretty good partner for MBee and is able to add on to the Volturn core since it has access to U-turn. It also has some neat defensive qualities, like being able to switch into Specs Chandelure, which could be a pretty big threat to the team. Hydreigon is also able to help further in taking down bulky psychics alongside MBee. Here's the set:

hydreigon.gif

Hydreigon @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Dark Pulse
- Draco Meteor
- Fire Blast
- U-turn

Other Options:
  • Something else that you should consider is replacing Vaporeon with Suicune, as Suicune would make a much better tank to physical attackers and is really close with Vaporeon on the special side as well. Suicune is able to run Roar, which would in turn allow Empoleon to run Ice Beam for an easier time taking down MSceptile and other dragon, grass, or flying types. You could also choose to go with Crocune for an additional win condition. RoarCune would be able to help with that Slurpuff weakness that opened up from losing Bronzong though. Keep in mind that you lose Vaporeon's ability to cure the team of status with Heal Bell. You also wouldn't be able to wishpass anymore, but I don't see Vaporeon passing wishes to anything often enough after the changes for you to keep it for that reason anyway. Regardless, I think that Suicune would be much better for the team overall.

I hope this helped, and good luck with the team!

Hey Lopoman, fun looking team you have here. I am also a really big fan of Virizion, so its really nice to see it get some love, haha. I do, however, see a lot a weaknesses to this team that need to be addressed. To just name a few: The team is really passive and can very easily lose to bulkier teams, there is no answer to Mega Beedrill, and probably the biggest flaw, no answer to fighting types. Luckily, I think I have some solid suggests to remedy these weaknesses.

My first suggestion is to use Calm Mind Suicune > Vaporeon. Vaporeon made the team very passive and a bulky setup sweeper could help the team a ton so you can beat bulkier teams easier. As for the set, either CroCune or RoarCune could work on this team, I suggest testing the team out with CroCune first, see how it goes, and if it does not work amazingly, try Roar > Sleep Talk.

Set:
Suicune @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Calm Mind
- Scald
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

With the Vaporeon change, you lost a cleric and a Wish passer, and it seems you were interested in having these on your team. Due to this, I suggest you run Wish Florges > Mandibuzz. Florges would serve as your prime fighting type switch in as well as cleric. I also really like Florges here to beat Sableye, which walled a large portion of your team. You still keep that nice Dark resistance, although the loss of a Ghost resist is unfortunate. Luckily, I have a suggest that you will see soon that will help with the lack of Chandelure / Hoopa switch in. Feel free to try out CM + Synthesis Florges to better pressure teams if you find the Wish support to be not very useful.
Set:
Florges (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Flower Veil
EVs: 248 HP / 232 Def / 28 SpD
Calm Nature
- Wish
- Protect
- Moonblast
- Aromatherapy

Since you lost your Defoger in Mandibuzz, I suggest LO Defog Salamence > Dragalge. LO Salamence gives you a Defog user as well as keeping that role of a hard-hitting special attacker. You still keep have that important Fire and Fighting resistance to back up Florges and Suicune if they get weakened, so thats cool. I think this is a solid suggestion since Salamence is playing a very similar role to Dragalge.

Set:
Salamence @ Life Orb
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Draco Meteor
- Fire Blast
- Defog
- Roost

My final team change suggestion is Pursuit Mega-Aerodactyl > Scarf Heliolisk. Your team lacked a Mega and had no answer to Mega Beedrill or Chandelure, so Mega Aerodactyl fits very nicely here. Scarf Heliolisk is extremely underwhelming and weak, as well as redundant since Virizion is here to check Water types. Although you lose the Choice Scarf , Mega Aerodactyl is the fastest pokemon in the tier so it is not that big of a deal.

Set:
Aerodactyl-Mega @ Aerodactylite
Ability: Tough Claws
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stone Edge
- Aerial Ace
- Earthquake
- Pursuit

The final thing I suggest is Iron Head > Gyro Ball on Bronzong to more reliably check Calm Mind Florges, which can easily beat your team.

I know I suggested a lot of things, but I tried my best to stick to the same team structure you had previously, but with different pokemon. This combination of pokemon I believe is the best fit for the team. Good luck!
