Introduction

Welcome to this RMT thread! So this is my first RMT, and I think I finally got it right. My team building process was pretty simple: Volbeat
313.png
is awesome and I needed to combine it with good and fast special sweepers, who can offer me great type coverage
64.png
617.png
. Besides that, I needed a physical
411.png
and a special wall, while having a spinner would be great
8.png
.
Since I had 1 slot left, I tried everything - Lopunny, Cradily, Mismagius, Tauros, Tangela, Scyther, Illumise etc. Finally, I found a good physical sweeper who fit in my team
335.png
.

So, I hope you enjoy reading this. Without further delay, let's see what i have, starting with the star of team

.
Volt_Volbeat.png

Volbeat @ Bright Powder
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 HP / 4 SpD
Timid Nature
- Tail Glow
- Baton Pass
- Substitute
- Encore
First, my Volbeat
johnc2053.gif
. This guy is awesome. Really, someday, I'll build an UU or OU team with him, because he is great. Most of the times, I can baton pass 2.5x SpA. All I need to do is to encore someone properly, like stealth rock, spikes, fake out etc. There are so many options! Also, when people try to set up, bring this guy, encore them, put a subs and you're all good to go. If you can predict a toxic, thunder wave and stuff like that and put a sub, that's even better. Like I said, often, I can manage to bp at least 2.5x SpA. Sometimes, I can bp x4, and then it's gg, most of the times. And there's bright powder. It is not reliable, so don't count on it (as I don't), but it's pretty good when you expect something to break your subs and it fails when it shouldn't have, being also good against fire blast, focus blast, stone edge and some other attacks - you can subs until your opponent misses. In my experience, it helps more than leftovers or sash.

Byron_Bastiodon.png

Bastiodon @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 Def/ 252 HP/ 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Roar
- Metal Burst
- Toxic
This is my physical wall
411.gif
. It's not the best, I recognize that, but I ended up choosing him, after some tests. He is often my lead, since he can safely set stealth rock pretty much every time and he usually takes down one opponent as well who tries to earthquake/close combat him, by predicting that attack and using Metal Burst. You wouldn't believe how many Electivires and Ferraligators fell for that. Also, seldom, I manage to roar enemies, dealing some importante amount of damage. Toxic is also helpful. Moving on.

228px-May_Wartortle.png

Wartortle @ Eviolite
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 252 SpD/ 252 HP/ 4 SpD
Calm Nature
- Haze
- Rapid Spin
- Scald
- Toxic
Another pokémon who is not the best thing, but is pretty good when it comes to do his job
008.gif
. He works as my special wall, but he also resists physical damages pretty well. With eviolite, he can switch in and do whatever it is that he has to do, which can be spin, haze or just take damage that would've otherwise killed another poke. All in all, he is a great average pokémon. Torrent can help finishing some stubborn pokes, though it's not really useful.

228px-Sabrina_Kadabra.png

Kadabra @ Focus sash
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 Spe/ 252 SpA/ 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Psyshock
- Energy Ball
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power (Fire)
Next, we have my first sweeper
064f.gif
. His moves' aim is to grant him a nice type coverage. His ability is great when there're lots of hazards on the field, which happens quite often, when I try to set up Volbeat. He is also a great late game sweeper, with at least one guaranteed attack. Hidden Power Fire is to easily beat Ferroseed, Klinklang and steel and bug types in general. Psyshock is there to beat Cryogonal and it hurts well some others. He'll most likely hit with 2.5x power, making him a huge threat.

468px-800px-Juniper_Accelgor_%281%29.png

Accelgor @ Focus sash
Ability: Unburden
EVs: 252 Spe/ 252 SpA/ 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Bug Buzz
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb
- Hidden Power (Water)
My second sweeper
617.gif
. Actually, he's usually my first choice. Fast and furious. I don't think there's much to say about him. Great type coverage, Bug Buzz destroys sub users. He is like really fast, so, once I get him with 2.5x power, it's hard to stop. I don't think I've ever lost when I passed 4x SpA to him. Even if he switches and takes hazard damages, it's possible to get the HP back with Giga Drain, and Sash will still be useful. His only problem, I'd say, is his ability, since, well, all three of them are useless, most of the time. Aside from that, this guy is relentless.

480px-Blackbelt_Zangoose.png

Zangoose @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Toxic Boost
EVs: 252 Spe/ 252 Atk/ 4 SpD
Jolly Nature
- Facade
- Knock Off
- Quick Attack
- Close Combat
Last, but not least, comes Zangoose, my physical sweeper
335.gif
. He was the last one to join the team, and I tested many before him, among which I can mention Eviolite Scyther, Tauros and Persian. Once again, he is alright, not the greatest poke, but fits really nice in this team, which I think is due to him not being as frail as my other sweepers, who are pretty much glass cannons without the subs. I guess the only not so obvious move is quick attack, and it's there cause noone else in my team has a priority damaging move.

Overrall Team Analysis and Conclusion
All in all, I think this is a great and pretty balanced team. The only thing I miss sometimes is aromatherapy/heal bell, mainly against thunder wave based teams.
Among the main threats to this team, the first one that comes to my mind is vileplume
45.png
. I just hate it. He can take damage pretty well, is hard to set up against, is not susceptible to toxic, has giga drain, which is super effective against my special wall and is hard to hit with psyshock, cause he always switches before my kadabra attacks. Sometimes, I can throw in Wartortle, bring Volbeat and trap Vileplume in Giga Drains, which gives me the opportunity to set up, but that is somewhat rare.
Besides that, I can mention scarfed Typhlosion
157.png
. Full health eruption hits pretty hard, and stealth rock isn't always there to help me.
Sawk
539.png
often gives me a hard time as well.
Another thing, I'd say, is circle throw, which is a huge threat to Bastiodon, but it's relatively rare, and it's mainly a threat to one poke, not my team as a whole. Prankster Liepard
510.png
sometimes is trouble, but I usually switch to Accelgor, who can OHKO him, and teams who can paralize me also mean trouble, since my sweeping depends on speed and, like I said, I have no ways of healing or whatsoever. Finally, some priority moves can finish my sashed sweeping earlier than what it should.
So, that said, I can say, again, that I have a great team. Most of these threats can be managed by switching right, such as Sawk and Vileplume, who are more dangerous in late game. Ditto
132.png
is rare, but if he copies me, that could be gg for me, unless my sweeper is at full hp.
I guess that's it. Hope you guys enjoyed!

The primary problem with this team is that it doesn't have a purpose. There is very little offensive or defensive synergy, and it doesn't utilize any of its members well. It kind of just looks like six random pokemon thrown together, and tbh it just doesn't work. Just to make your team competitively viable, I am forced to change multiple pokemon. This said, I realize that you built around Volbeat, so I will not be removing it from the team. This said, this team is rather offensive, and as a result the use of Wartortle and Bastiodon lose tons of momentum for your team, giving the opponent setup opportunities.

Wartortle and Bastiodon really need to go. They help you very little, and don't support your team in any way. I would suggest you to run Tank Rhydon over Bastiodon, as it is far stronger, has much more offensive presence, and is simply a better support pokemon for an offensive team like yours. It still packs roar, but greater offenses lets it take a punch and hit back harder, and is overall a superior pokemon in almost every way.

As I've stated, Wartortle loses way too much offensive presence for you. Looking at your team's "sash offense" structure however, I do agree that you might not appreciate hazards, so I reccomend trying Offensive Defog Swanna over it. With high speed and good power, Swanna can make for another great recepient of your Volbeat's passes, but still offers you a hazard controlling method, while packing far more of a punch with the rest of your offensive team than Wartortle. It also gives you a secondary check to stuff like Gurdurr to fall back onto.

Minor Changes:
Volbeat should have 248 HP and Accelgor should have 4 Def > 4 HP to minimize SR damage.
Volbeat: Leftovers > BrightPowder as it is incredibly uneeded, as it increases invasion by very little and is simply unreliable. Leftovers gives you the opportunity to pass Multiple times, which is critical to your success.
Kadabra: Dazzlling Gleam > Shadow Ball, as it gives you far better coverage, hitting Dark types such as Spiritomb super effectively and giving you better SE Coverage wiht psychic.
Accelgor: Focus Blast > Sludge Bomb, Hidden Power [Rock] > Hidden Power [Water]. Your current set doesn't touch Steel, Bug, or FLying types at all, so a combination of Focus Blast and HP Rock is much better at rounding off your coverage.

Hope this helped.

Rhydon @ Eviolite
Ability: Lightningrod
EVs: 252 HP / 16 Atk / 240 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Rock Blast
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Dragon Tail / Roar

581.png

Swanna @ Life Orb
Ability: Hydration
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Surf
- Hurricane
- Defog
- Roost

Hey Marcelloc2

While Volbeat seem to be the star of your team, I think that going with a CM Pass Musharna over it would greatly benefit your team.

musharna.gif

Musharna @ Leftovers
Ability: Synchronize
EVs: 240 HP / 252 Def / 16 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Calm Mind
- Baton Pass
- Moonlight
- Psychic / Dazzling Gleam

While you can no longer Baton Pass +3 SpA quickly, you will have a bulkier and more reliable Baton Pass user. It is not that hard for Musharna to find set up opportunities, and when it will be time to Baton Pass to one of your recipients, they won't have to take a hit from the opponent as Musharna will take it for them thanks to the slow Baton Pass.

I would also go with Sceptile over Kadabra:

sceptile.gif

Sceptile @ Life Orb
Ability: Overgrow
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 30 Def
- Giga Drain
- Focus Blast
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Substitute

Probably one of the best recipient of CM Pass in my own opinion. Grass / Ice / Fighting is great coverage and it can easily recover health thanks to Giga Drain, or prevent the opponent from paralysing it with Substitute. You should definitely try it out :]

I also agree with Brawlfest's rate

Hope I helped!
