Hey guys, wanted to share with you my Volcarona team that i have been testing on Showdown. Been stuck around 1300 so asking the community for help and improvements to my team!

The Defensive Core:
The Physical Wall:
Rotom-Wash @ Chesto Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spd
Bold Nature
- Rest
- Will-O-Wisp
- Hydro Pump
- Volt Switch
Everyone knows what Rotom-Wash does, dont have to explain that much. Im trying Resto Chesto for now but will try out painsplit in the future. WoW to hit Physical Attackers, hydro pump for STAB and Volt switch for momentum. I opted to try out the defensive build as talonflame/mega pinsir is trouble for this team, and i needed to minimize as much damage as i can. Also a nice partner with Volcarona as they cover each others weaknesses, and has the nice volturn core with my next defensive partner
The Special Wall
Scizor @ Scizorite
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SDef
Careful Nature
- Roost
- Defog
- U-turn
- Bullet Punch
So at the moment i have 2 pokemons that are weak to SR (Dragonite+Volcarona), and i don't want to break my MS on Dnite and lose 50% HP on volcarona, so i desperately needed a defogger. I picked scizor as my defogger and also my fully invested special wall. Reason why i picked scizor was because it formed the volturn core with rotom, and its unique typing allows me to safely switch in, defog and u-turn out of there. I decided to use make scizor my mega pokemon as it just gets even bulkier and i need him alive at all times to defog. Roost + Defog for obvious reasons. U-turn for switching in safely my other pokemons to sweep and bullet punch for taking out those pesky fairy types and priority
Offensive Core:
Physical Setup Sweeper
Dragonite @ Weakness Policy
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Dragon Claw
- Extreme Speed
- Fire Punch
Dragonite is such a beast and a really good setup sweeper due to his ability Multiscale and his bulkiness. Eating up any SE move that would otherwise OHKO him and returning the favor with a boosted dragon claw. Dragon dance is the main move to maximize his attack+speed, stack that with Weakness policy and its basically unstoppable. Dragon claw for STAB, Fire punch so i dont get walled hard by any steel types and take out any bulky grass types, and extreme speed for priority.
Wall Breaker:
Terrakion @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Iron Head
- Close Combat
I needed a good partner for volcarona as he is my main condition to sweep, and he has alot of counters. There are alot of blisseys/chanseys, heatrans, tyranitars that will just eat volcarona's attack and hit back hard or toxic stall. So thats why i chose terrakion. With its really good moveset, i can easily handle any pokemon that think they can wall volcarona. Earthquake is mostly to decimate Tyranitar and heatran and any other pokemon that resist stone edge/close combat/iron head. Stone edge is for taking out those flying types out of the game, mostly charizard Y, mega pinsir and talonflame. Iron head for coverage and taking out fairies. And close combat for taking out all those chansey/blisseys and mostly just to break down any walls down. Im trying out Scarf Terrakion as i want to always hit first, but it does suck to having it limit to only one move.
Special Setup Sweeper
Volcarona @ Passho Berry
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SAtk
Modest Nature
- Quiver Dance
- Bug Buzz
- Fiery Dance
- Giga Drain
The star of the Team. Volcarona is my favourite pokemon and i had to put him on the team. The evs spread was designed to make him bulky and just gain the Satk,Sdef, and Spd From the numerous quiver dances ill be using. Passho berry is used to reduce water damage while i quiver dance and hit back with giga drain, been working well against pokemons like Rotom-W and Azumaril. Standard Build, Quiver dance to raise up my stats to sweep, Fiery dance for STAB and chance to get the Spa boost. Bug buzz to hit any fairys/darks around + STAB and Giga drain to hit water types and heal up.
All-out attack:
Greninja (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Protean
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Timid Nature
IVs: 30 Atk / 30 SAtk / 30 Spd
- Surf
- Hidden Power Grass
- Extrasensory
- Ice Beam
I had troubles picking out the last spot for my team and i noticed that i lacked an Ice move. So after looking for a Special attacker that can learn an ice move, i came up with Greninja! I used a special all-out attacking set. With Protean + LO, greninja can do alot of damage to mostly anything. The moves i pick are all just for coverage with HP fire to take out any fires types lingering around. Might take out HP fire and try another move as i already have 2 fire moves on my team
Took out HP Fire for Grass and Switched Dark pulse with Extrasensory
Threat List
Mega Charizard Y- Pretty annoying to deal with, dont have a safe switch in for this guy and i rely on terrakion to take him out, but if hes out of the game, ill have a lot of trouble taking him out
More will be added when i figure out more threats
Moves Im trying to Fit into my Team:
Another status move (Twave Toxic)
Taunt
Knock off
A fairy Type
So theres my team any help, opinion, suggestions will help alot. Im not to attached to any pokemon except for Volcarona, so feel free to make switches around.
Thanks
