Introduction

Que Pasa Smogon? It's been a while since I've done an RMT, but I finally made a team that I thought was fun while still being competitive that everyone will hopefully like. I've been playing NU for months and this is my favorite team that I have made by far, I look at it as more of an offensive version of stall seeing as both Cinccino and Rotom hit relatively hard and can speed things up in a battle instead of having to stall constantly, and being able to gain me some good momentum when I need it.

This team started off with me being bored one day searching for a good Volt Turn Pokemon Combo in NU since it was my favorite tier and I noticed that Cinccino and Rotom-S looked to be the best combo for this, so I decided to build around those 2 and ultimately me being the defensive player that I am decided to make the team part stall.

Team Building Process

There isn't much to say behind the team building process, but I will try to explain as much as I can. I started off with the Cinccino and rotom-S since they seemed to be the best Pokemon for a good Volt Turn combo in NU. I made Cinccino Life Orb seeing as it is already fast and I don't want to be locked into 1 move while still hitting hard with Skill Link. I would of done the same for Rotom-S, but I wanted a scarfer not to mention that with Trick Rotom can cripple certain Pokemon that may cause troubles or annoyance to the team.
573.png
479-fan.png

Next off I wanted Pokemon that could set up hazards and I chose to use Bastiodon as my Stealth Rocker since I had always wanted to use it and it would also give my team a phazer. Next up I wanted Spikes and in NU there isn't many bulky Spikers outside of Garbodor so I ended up picking him plus it gave my team access to Toxic Spikes, I wasn't a big fan of Garbodor but its really grown on me a lot since making this team and now he is my go to Pokemon for when I want Spikes/Toxic Spikes.

If you're using a team based around entry hazards then you NEED to have a ghost type and since the only 3 really used ghost types are Haunter, Misdreavus and Golurk I had a bit of a hard choice, in the end I picked Misdreavus seeing as it had access to Levitate adding another Pokemon that is not affected by ground moves. Now yes Haunter has the same ability BUT Misdreavus holds something over Haunter and that is its access to Heal Bell, making it the superior choice in the end for my team.

Finally off I wanted a Pokemon with access to wish and the first Pokemon to come to mind was Lickilicky MASSIVE HP and GREAT bulk PLUS the access to Dragon Tail, adding another phazing Pokemon to my team.

After several battles with the team I noticed that Bastiodon was the weakest link on my team all it really did was get up rocks and die not doing much else so I decided to replace it with Miltank which not only gave me a Pokemon that still sets up rock but it also added a Pokemon that can take CB Flare Blitz from Emboar which made me cry and just punched holes through my team. Then I noticed having both Lickilicky and Miltank wasnt the best thing ever so I replaced Lickilicky with a better special wall(In my Opinion) which was Gardevoir. Now yes I did lose the 2 phazers which were Bastiodon and Lickilicky I never really found my self having to use Roar or Dragon Tail. Seeing as Miltank had access to Heal Bell I decided to put that on her and gave Misdreavus Perish Song to still be able to force certain things out if need be so, which has come in handy more then you might think.

And that is how the team came to be!

In-Depth About The Team
(The EVs on all the sets are just straight forward)
250px-573Cinccino.png

Cinccino (F) @ Life Orb
Trait: Skill Link
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Bullet Seed
- Tail Slap
- U-turn
- Rock Blast

There isn't much to say about this set really. If you have been playing NU the past month or so then you have definitely seen this little beast. Cinccino is a MONSTER, and has practically perfect type coverage, great speed and a decent ATK stat which means there isn't many Pokemon that can switch into Cinccino and not get KOd the following turn by one of its moves and With Life Orb this little thing is just too strong then throw in hazards and it just makes it all the more dangerous.

Cinccino really helps to pick off weaken Pokemon that are slower then it while being able to gain me some momentum with U-Turn. The fact that it has moves that hit multiple times really helps to deal with Pokemon that have substitute, sturdy and the occasional Focus Sash Kadabra.

Other Possible Moves
You could also replace one of the moves(Outside of Tail Slap and U-turn obviously) to fit in Wake Up Slap which would help cover the weakness to Probopass and Bastiodon

rotomspin.png

Rotom (Rotom-S) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch
- Air Slash
- Trick

Scarfed Rotom-S is the BEST Scarfed Pokemon in NU(In my opinion). It's fast, has great bulk and good Sp.atk not to mention the main thing that makes this sit so GREAT is Trick. Trick REALLY helps to cripples certain Pokemon that cause problems or are just annoying to this team in general, then I can work from there to deal with those certain Pokemon. Not to mention Scarfed Rotom out speeds most common scarfed Pokemon such as Sawk, Emboar and Braviary, plus it helps against Gorebyss and Carracosta which after a Shell Smash still can not out speed Timid Scarfed Rotom, allowing me to easily revenge kill them.

Just like Cinccino Rotom helps me gain momentum, even with not having a rapid spinner rocks don't really bother me too much plus I can always just pass a wish to it with my Gardevoir.

Other Possible Moves
You could Replace Thunderbolt with Hidden Power Grass so you can hit ground type Pokemon

282.png

Gardevoir (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Trace
EVs: 252 HP / 248 SDef / 8 Spd
Calm Nature
- Psychic
- Wish
- Protect
- Will-O-Wisp
Gardevoir is my FAVORITE special wall in the whole NU tier and the best one around in my opinion. Gardevoirs most common role on the team is obviously to take special attacks and pass HP to my other Pokemon nothing more to her then that really, Will-O-Wisp helps to cripple things like Skuntank on the predicted switch, Pokemon that have levitate and if Toxic Spikes aren't up then you can Burn Physical attackers so Gardevoir can take hits better.

Having Trace or Synchronize can be used, personally I like Trace since Gardevoir can trace Natural Cure, Lightingrod and other useful abilities that Gardevoir can abuse.

Other Possible Moves
You can replace Will-0-Wisp with Toxic, Thunder Wave, Signal Beam. Toxic can be used for Pokemon that don't get affected by Toxic Spikes, T-wave can be used to stop fast Pokemon if Toxic Spikes aren't up and Signal Beam is mostly for Exeggutor since for some reason it ALWAYS causes me troubles :[

200.png

Misdreavus (F) @ Eviolite
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 220 Def / 36 Spd
Bold Nature
- Will-O-Wisp
- Pain Split
- Perish Song
- Shadow Ball
Misdreavus is possibly the MVP of this team because she is the ONLY reason my Hazards are able to stay on the field. This is probably the only Modified EV spread on the whole team, then again all I did was add extra Speed Evs since Sub+Bulk Up Braviary makes me cry at night and want to just quit this game, If it isn't behind a sub I out speed and burn it then just stall it out, if it is behind a sub then I just Parish Song to forces it out as well as forcing out other Pokemon that try to set up or that I have problems taking down.

Misdreavus also helps to take hits from from common physical attackers and even Burn them if Toxic spikes aren't up even then, Misdreavus still takes physical(and some Special) hits like a champ and can be very annoying to take down at times, the only downfall to her is that her only form of recovery is Pain Split which means she may not stick around for the whole battle, but she will definitely be around long enough to get rid of the opposing Rapid Spinner and any physical attackers that might cause you troubles.

Other Possible Moves
You can run Taunt over Pain Split to stop Pokemon that set up hazards seeing as Misdreavus outspeeds almost every Pokemon that sets up Hazards in NU and stops slower Pokemon than it from setting up.

241Miltank-1.png

Miltank (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spd
Impish Nature
- Heal Bell
- Body Slam
- Milk Drink
- Stealth Rock
Miltank is great all around, she sets up Rocks and cures any statuses my team may have. She also gives my team something to take Flare Blitz from CB Emboar which can punch holes in almost any team, she is also the best switch in I have for Cinccino which as I said can 2hitko just about any wall in NU. There isn't much else to Miltank besides to take physical hits, set up rocks and cure statuses on my Team

Other Possible Moves
Um...I don't really know what else you could put on Miltank. You could try Sap Sipper over Thick Fat for Amoonguss..but that would be weird on a Bulky Miltank.

pokeween-garbodor.png

Garbodor (F) @ Black Sludge
Trait: Aftermath
EVs: 252 HP / 236 Def / 20 Spd
Impish Nature
- Spikes
- Toxic Spikes
- Clear Smog
- Gunk Shot
And last but certainly not least Garbodor, the Pokemon that makes taking down Pokemon SO MUCH easier. Garbodor is almost ALWAYS guaranteed to get up any 2 forms of Spikes regular or Toxic at the least and if played correctly you will get all 3 layers of Spikes and 2 layers of Toxic Spikes which will make the battle that much easier for you to win.

Just like Misdreavus Gardbodor has some speed EVs in it. It has enough to out speed Base 80 speed Pokemon with only 4 speed EVs and score some KOs with Gunk Shot. Clear smog is very handy to deal with Pokemon that try to set up on it since for some reason people don't expect it to have Clear Smog

Other Possible Moves
You can run Drain Punch over Gunk Shot, Toxic Spikes or Clear Smog to 2 hitKO Probopass and Bastiodon, anotther options might be Rock Blast to hit Armaldo, Torkoal, Swellow, Braviary, Altaria and other Pokemon that take super effective damage from Rock Blast, last off you can run Toxic over Toxic spikes seeing as 2 Pokemon on the team have Will-O-Wisp and Miltank has Body Slam to Paralys.

Threat List

Red Major Threat
Green Minor Threat
Blue No real threat, but still annoying

HAX This is the ONLY reason I had to stop at #7..I have bad luck :[

Hazards Luckily most teams in NU only have Steal Rocks, but if they get up some layers of Spikes then winning might be a little difficult, which is why you might want to consider running Taunt on Misdrevus
324.png
8.png
Torkoal/Wartortle
Honestly The only Spinners I seem to troubles with are Torkoal with Shell Smash since it can take down Misdreavus with ease, then again I just bring in Cinccino or Rotom-S to revenge kill it, and last off is the VERY rare Rest talk Wartortle, but as long as I have Rotom-S then it is easily dealt with. Misdreavus can pretty much deal with any other Rapid Spinner.

623.png
Golurk: Golurk is only a problem if I don't get Toxic spikes up even then Misdreavus can outspeed any for of Golurk and Burn it. But if Golurk has a Rock Polish up then Misdreavus can still take 1 Shadow Punch then Will-O-wisp it and I can stall it out with Miltank.

272.png
Rain Dance Ludicolo: Rain Dance Ludicolo is annoying to deal with the only way I can handle it is to make sure Toxic Spikes are up or hope that they set up a rain dance on Garbodor and I can OHKO with Gunk Shot

359.png
332.png
SD Absol/Cacturne: If I allow 1 of these to get up a free Swords Dance then I am screwed because they pretty much OHKO my entire team, so I try my best to prevent that and with them being so fragile it make them easier to deal with and if Toxic Spikes are up I don't have to really worry about them.

334.png
Specs Altaria Specs altaria pretty much 2HITKOs my entire team, luckily it is slow so I can Rock Blast it with Cinccino and try to ware it down with Steal Rocks.

335.png
SD Zangoose Normally the best thing to deal with this is Garbodor seeing as it has Clear smog, to nullify the SD boost, if Zangoose doesn't have SD then it is easily delt with by Miltank, or Rotom-S.

500.png
CB Emboar So this isnt a MAJOR threat, but it can still be a little hard to handle with hazards up and the recoil then you should be fine, but something is guaranteed to die on the team in order to get rid of it. But in order to properly deal with it is to predict or gamble on weather it will Flare Blitz or SuperPower, you could also Fodder off Garbodor to rack up Flare Blitz recoil(Toxic recoil) and Aftermath Recoil. if it's scarfed then you have nothing to really worry about.

497.png
SubCM/SubSeed Serperior Not a threat but VERY annoying to deal with, Garbodor is the best thing to deal with both of these and after getting up Toxic Spikes I can switch into Misdreavus Perish Song and force it out, that way when it comes back in it will be poisoned and I can just stall it.

634.png
Zweilous Okay this thing is just too strong it can 2 HITKO the ENTIRE NU metagame and I have nothing to take 2 outrages from it even Eviolite has a chance to 2HITKO Miltank...so watch out for this GIANT threat, because unless it's burnt or poisoned then it will plow through the team

411.png
476.png
Bastiodon/Probopass yeah I have no fighting or Ground type moves on this team so the only way to take these 2 down is to CONSTANTLY hit them or burn them wit Gardevoir or Misdreavus.

611.png
DD Fraxure Like Zweilous This thing is a problem after 1 DD it can run train on this team..unless it's under 50% then I have to volt switch with Rotom let something die then come back in and Thunderbolt it for the kill...but if it gets 2DDs up..then yeah just quit.

368.png
Gorebyss Gorebyss is only a problem when I lost rotom, or if I trick my Scarf off and this thing is still lying in wait and I allow it to Shell Smash but normally I always save my Scarf just for this thing because I know how powerful it is.

518.png
CM+Heal Bell Musharna Aslong as I have Misdreavus then I can Perish Song and constantly force it to switch out or I can trick my scarf off to it and cripple it.

103.png
Exeggutor I HATE THIS THING WITH A PASSION!!!! all forms are easy to deal with it, but for some reason when I play it..IT'S JUST SO DAMN ANNOYING!

628.png
Sub+Bulk Up Braviary This is not a problem so long as I have Misdreavus because I out speed the standard EV spread on Smogon and if it isn't behind a sub I can Will-O-Wisp(HOPE not to miss) and just cripple and if it is already behind a sub I can Perish Song and switch into Miltank and just milk drink the damage off untill it switches out.

I'll update this more when I find other common threats to this team.

Conclusion
So that is my Volt Turn Stall team, if some of my grammar is incorrect/immproper I apologize since English is not my first language but I hope you guys don't mind it and still liked the RMT and well help me better my team by leaving your suggestions bellow.

Greetings 6ftHax (nice vids btw)! This is a pretty neat team with the odd but impressive combination of hazard stacking and momentum setting. I see a few things that can possibly be done to help the offensive and defensive strategies synchronize better.

Miltank and Gardevoir are both very potent walls, and it's a shame to suggest that they should be removed. However, I feel that reverting back to Lickilicky would be the much better option for special walling. You gain Dragon Tail, Heal Bell, or both in a very hard to break package while still being able to handle the threatening weather sweepers a bit better (sadly, Gardevoir has much lower HP, meaning Ludicolo's Hydro Pump is a guaranteed 2HKO, while it needs Rocks to do the same to Lickilicky).

As for physical walling and SR setting, I feel that Regirock can provide a lot more to your team. While you do lose the neutrality to some threatening special types like Grass, you gain a primary check (rather than a revenge killer) to Flying and Normal types that is much appreciated. Being able to reliably tank a hit from even SD Absol/Cacturne and retaliate is a nice benefit as well. You also have Drain Punch for recovery and to be able to break through Steel types more easily. On the plus side, you still have the ability to tank CB Emboar's Flare Blitz very well, and if you choose to use Rocky Helmet, you can inflict plenty of residual damage as well.

Garbodor doesn't really need Clear Smog when Lickilicky has Dragon Tail. Both still fail to break most Substitutes, so instead I think that going with Rock Blast would be the more helpful move. The ability to break the Subs of frail and/or Rock weak Pokemon can be extremely helpful.

Now, if you would prefer keeping Gardevoir, I would still replace Miltank for something that helps deal with Dark types. The aforementioned Regirock would be perfect, and you may even consider something like Carracosta to add some priority to the team. That would mean that Gardevoir or Misdreavus would have to give up a move for Heal Bell, so that isn't the path I would personally take.

Now, if you do remove Gardevoir, you'll need to watch out for opposing Psychic types. Cinccino can break through most SubCM variants, while Rotom-S can usually cripple support sets. Lickilicky does pretty well against most offensive Psychic types, so long as you don't switch into Focus Blast. Physical Water types will also present problems, though they'll take a lot of damage from Rocky Helmet Regirock, Rotom-S, and Misdreavus can burn them too.

If you decide to keep Gardevoir but change Miltank, then opposing Rain sweepers will still remain a threat, especially the likes of Ludicolo and Seismitoad. The same probably goes for opposing Sun sweepers, though they are much rarer.

Changes:

Lickilicky>Gardevoir
Regirock>Miltank

-OR-

Regirock>Miltank

Garbodor: Rock Blast>Clear Smog

Lickylicky @ Leftovers
Trait: Own Tempo

Whether or not you take my suggestions, this is a good team. Hopefully I helped tighten it up and improved its synergy. Good luck laddering (don't let hax get you down) and I hope I helped! :pimp:

Thanks man :]

I've been wanting to use Reigirock for sometimes now and it completely escaped my mine to try it out, so thanks for suggesting it and I'll make sure try it out along with Lickilicky.
