Kinda a simple VoltTurning-style, it's pretty potent with many different threats and a couple of strong pivots.
First off, what's a VoltTurning team without Rotom-Wash
Typically, Scizor was used as a partner for Rotom, but while it's still available, Genesect's mixed moves appeal a lot more to me. These two cover each other's weaknesses pretty well.
Next, I want something that could set up entry hazards while still being able to keep offensive pressure, Landorus-T fills this nicely and works as a good Offensive Pivot.
Next, I'll add a strong priority user, some added Fire-type moves would be nice too. Talonflame seems to be on most teams, so I'll add that.
Now I want a fairly overall strong offensive pressure, I know Kyurem-B's mix of attacks can hit a lot.
For the last slot, need to keep some phazing and some hazard clearing, so I'll add Skarmory.
Rotom-Wash @ Chesto Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Def / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Bold Nature
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Will-O-Wisp
- Rest
Since there's -so- many physically offensive threats this generation, going to use a Physically Defensive set, gotta also keep Rotom healthy to check Talonflame repeatedly. Most notable Pokemon that keep switching into Rotom are Grass-types and Excadrill. Landorus checks Excadrill quite easily, and Grass-types can be avoided from Volt Switch. I typically lead with this, being able to Burn most opposing leads and able to just Volt Switch out of certain bad matchups..
Genesect @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Download
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd
Hasty Nature
- U-turn
- Iron Head
- Flamethrower
- Ice Beam
Using the more Physically Offensive set over the Specially Offensive set for Iron Head against Fairies. The first two Pokemon on the team complete the VoltTurn, not too many things can out-speed Genesect, have to watch out for the stray Thunder Wave and Will-o-Wisp though.. Maybe I should run something with Heal Bell or Aromatherapy.. maybe Celebi?
Landorus-Therian (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 248 HP / 172 Def / 88 Spd
Naive Nature
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- U-turn
- Stealth Rock
I typically lead with this, just having U-turn and Stealth Rocks together allows me to choose which to use. Being able to cripple most Physical attackers with Intimidate is quite useful, setting up Rocks helps keep the strong Fire threats out. HP Ice isn't really taken because there's already many other checks for things like Gliscor and Dragonite already (Genesect and Rotom)
Talonflame @ Life Orb
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Jolly Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Brave Bird
- U-turn
- Roost
Honestly, with all of the Rotom flying around, I feel like getting off U-turn damage is more valuable than setting up SD to hit it. I'm actually not 100% sure what Speed tier I should be trying to hit with this, some recommendations for this would help :) Adamant Nature is what I'm also considering...
Kyurem-Black @ Leftovers
Ability: Teravolt
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Spd / 4 SAtk
Naive Nature
- Outrage
- Fusion Bolt
- Ice Beam
- Substitute
Kyurem-B is quite bulky, being able to take most unresisted attacks, Substitute, along with all of the VoltTurning allows for a lot of ease for predictions. Against Leads that have no Offensive pressure, Forretress and Smeargle for example, can get off a free Sub against them. Outrage over Dragon Claw for the extra little bit of power, neither Azumarill nor Togekiss would really consider getting hit by a Fusion Bolt, so they can't switch in while Substitute is up.
Skarmory @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 32 Def / 252 SDef / 224 HP
Careful Nature
- Spikes
- Roost
- Defog
- Whirlwind
Running Specially Defensive over Physically Defensive since there's already 2 strong Physically Defensive Pokemon on the team already. While it may seem like Defog and Spikes on the same set is counter-intuitive, but it's more like I need Defog to remove the enemy's hazards, Spikes is there to punish people who want to stay in for extended periods of time. Whirlwind is there to attempt to phaze Pokemon that are already setup.
