[OVERVIEW]

  • Voodoom ideally is a powerful Nasty Plot sweeper due to a strong offensive type and a good speed tier, outpacing things like Choice Band Kartana and speed tying with Mega Latios
  • Cannot do this often because of bad bulk, quad weakness to Fairy and little to no power before setting up
  • Because of this, is only useful on Veil, which weakens incoming attacks, or Webs, which allows it to outspeed scarfers
  • However, Hoopa-U outclasses it heavily because of better coverage, more power from the start and more versatility in its sets, so it's only best to run Voodoom if want a better speed tier
  • Lightning Rod can be useful to come in on Electric-type moves, but many of them can defeat Voodom easily regardless due to its poor bulk, most notably Dazzling Gleam Tapu Koko
  • Otherwise, Voodoom is outclassed as a Dark-type by Greninja and Colossoil for having a better speed tier and more power out of the gate respectively
  • Voodoom is also outclassed as a Fighting-type by Tomohawk and Revenankh, who both have much better bulk and priority recovery, with the latter also having unresisted STABs

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

  • Nasty Plot is the main draw to Voodoom, sharply raising its Special Attack, giving it enough power to attempt a sweep
  • Dark Pulse is Dark STAB, OHKOing Mega Latios and Kitsunoh unboosted and specially defensive pajantom when at +2
  • Focus Blast is Fighting STAB and is strong but inaccurate, with it beating things like Ferrothorn and Stratagem
  • Flash Cannon OHKOs Fairies such as Jumbao, Kerfluffle, and Tapu Lele on switch-in and 2HKOs Clefable when boosted.
Set Details
========
  • Lightning Rod allows for switching into Electric-type moves, most notably Volt Switch from Krilowatt and Tapu Koko
  • Lightning Rod is more useful as Volt Absorb does very little to mitigate Voodoom's paper thin defenses
  • Maximum Special Attack and Speed with a Timid nature maximize power and speed, allowing it to outspeed Kartana as well as speed tieing with Mega Latios and Kitsunoh
  • Life Orb increases power, securing OHKOs against Fairy-types such as Tapu Lele, Jumbao and Kerfluffle with Flash Cannon, as well as making Dark Pulse OHKO Gliscor at +2
  • Alternatively, Fightinium Z is an option to blast Celesteela without taking recoil damage and have a powerful accurate Fighting STAB, but only if nothing else on the team is running a Z crystal and you can live with a weaker Dark Pulse and Flash Cannon
Usage Tips
========
  • Try to switch in on passive Pokemon such as Ferrothorn, as that is when it is easiest to set up
  • Switch Voodoom in if you predict an Electric move from something you can outspeed, such as Cyclohm or Krilowatt
  • Use Voodoom to pressure VoltTurn cores into not using Volt Switch by switching it in if you expect Volt Switch
  • Voodoom is best used as a late-game cleaner once things that beat Voodoom are out of the way, usually at the end of the match unless you come in on an Electric-type move
  • If you come in on an Electric-type move and the foe seemingly is about to switch, set up with Nasty Plot to punish Pokemon like Choice Specs Tapu Koko
Team Options
========

  • Necturna sets up Sticky Web, patching up Voodoom’s average speed
  • Other slow wallbreakers, such as Kyurem-B, Mega Crucibelle and Mega Medicham fit alongside Voodoom on a Sticky Web team
  • Faster Pokemon, such as Tapu Koko, Greninja, and Scarfers such as Jumbao, Volkraken and Tapu Lele can help take down Scarf Landorus-T and Tornadus-T, who are both defoggers who are not slowed down by Sticky Web
  • Alternatively, Ninetales-Alola sets Aurora Veil, giving Voodoom a chance to set up
  • Set up sweepers such as Dragon Dance Naviathan, Gyarados, Volcarona and Zygarde work well on Aurora Veil teams and appreciate Voodoom switching in or beating Electric, Rock, or Ice-types respectively. Volcarona and Dragon Dance Naviathan are also Voodoom's best friends as they usually can handle Fairy-type attacks, with Naviathan in particular appreciating Voodoom coming in on Electric-type moves
  • Suicide Lead Lando-T and Mega Crucibelle can set Stealth Rock, which chips down opposing switch-ins, allowing Voodoom to rely on Dark Pulse more often than the inaccurate Focus Blast
[STRATEGY COMMENTS]

Other Options
=============

  • Thunderbolt 2HKOs Tomohawk and Tornadus-T if rocks are up
  • If running Thunderbolt, you can run Electrium Z to OHKO Toxapex and Celesteela if boosted and KO Arghonaut unboosted after a Thunderbolt
  • Aura Sphere can be run over Focus Blast, but considerably less power makes the accuracy not worth it
  • Psychic can be run over Thunderbolt or Flash Cannon to beat Mollux and Tomohawk handily as well as 2HKOing Mega Crucibelle if it comes in on Psychic, but it has little use outside of that
Checks and Counters
===================

**Fairy-types**: Fairy-types such as Jumbao, Kerfluffle and Clefable switch into Voodoom's STABs and blow it away with Moonblast. However, they must be cautious of Flash Cannon as they come in. Slower Fairy-types also fear a boosted Flash Cannon.

**Faster Attackers**: Voodoom’s frailty and average speed leave it vulnerable to faster attackers and revenge killers such as Scarf Plasmanta, Scarf Landorus-T, Kerfluffle, Greninja and Mega Crucibelle. Tornadus-T and Scarf Landorus-T are particularly troublesome due to being unhindered by Sticky Web. However, Mega Crucibelle has to watch out for the occasional Psychic.

**Priority Users**: Priority users such as Revenankh and Mega Pinsir take advantage of Voodoom's bad defenses and defensive typing. Revenankh can easily KO Voodoom with Triage Drain Punch, is immune to Focus Blast, and can heal off Dark Pulse damage with Drain Punch or Moonlight. Aerilate-boosted Quick Attack from Mega Pinsir also easily destroys Voodoom, but it has a harder time switching in.

**Hazers and Phazers**: Tomohawk easily switches into both of Voodoom's STABs and hazes away its boosts. Due to Voodoom's frailty, even Air Slash can force Voodoom out or even KO it. However, Tomohawk gets nailed by Thunderbolt and Psychic, so it has to find the right moment to come in. Arghonaut ignores boosts and can phaze out Voodoom with a super effective circle throw, while Toxapex also hazes away Voodoom's boosts. However, they both have to watch for Electrium Z Thunderbolt.

Wait, Kerfluffle is neutral to Flash Cannon? Fighting doesn't resist Steel (and Kerf is a Fairy), so shouldn't Kerf not be neutral to Flash Cannon?

[OVERVIEW]

  • Voodoom ideally is a devastating Nasty Plot sweeper what attributes does it have that would make it seem like that?
  • Cannot do this often because of bad bulk, quad weakness to Fairy, average speed speed is its only redeeming factor honestly. outspeeds band kartana, which is nice, just say bad bulk and little to no power before setting up
  • Because of this, is only useful on Veil and Webs because?
  • Lightning Rod needs a mention here - mostly though because Electric-types can circumvent that pretty easily, notably koko with dgleam
This is really, really small. You need to talk about competition with Hoopa-U on these kinds of teams, where it usually fits better than Voodoom anyway. Also about what walls it in the metagame. Magearna is one example.

Moves
========

  • Nasty Plot is the main draw to Voodoom, greatly enhancing its power say that it raises it's SpA
  • Dark Pulse is Dark STAB, beating things like Pajantom say that it's the reliable STAB move, also more examples
  • Focus Blast is Fighting STAB, beating things like Ferrothorn say that it has more power but lower accuracy, also more examples, and maybe one that shows off Voodoom at +2
  • Flash Cannon nails Fairies which ones? on switch-in, Thunderbolt nails Tomo on switch-in as well as Arghonaut and Celesteela
Set Details
========
  • Lightning Rod allows for switching into Electric-types, such as Cyclohm, Zapdos and Krilowatt
  • EVs and Nature maximize power and speed be sure to spell them out
  • Life Orb increases power while still allowing set up
  • add Fightinium Z here, i might ask you to put it on the main set later on
Usage Tips
========
  • Try to switch in on passive Pokemon such as Ferrothorn why?
  • Switch Voodoom in if you predict an Electric move from something you can outspeed, such as Cyclohm, or Krilowatt if Webs are up
  • when's the best time to set up?
  • expand on this if you can, it's really short
Team Options
========

  • Necturna sets up Sticky Web, patching up Voodoom’s average speed it's not exactly average tbh, but it does ensure that many scarfers don't outspeed
  • Ninetales-Alola sets Veil, giving Voodoom a chance to set up
  • Mollux appreciates Voodoom’s Psychic immunity, while Mollux helps Voodoom by absorbing Fairy and Fighting-type moves mollux also doesn't fit on veil or webs. put web and veil partners if the analysis is about webs and veil
[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

  • Not many other options, as Voodoom is very one-dimensional
  • Aura Sphere can be run over Focus Blast, but considerably less power makes the accuracy not worth it
  • add Psychic
Checks and Counters
===================

**Fairy-types**:
  • Resist STABs and hit 4x effectively which Fairy-types?
  • Kerfluffle in particular can neutralize Voodoom with Parting Shot Parting Shot? What about STAB moves? Moonblast kills about 3 Voodooms, and Kerfluffle isn't so great in the metagame. I don't think it needs its own line.

**Tomohawk**: tomo's not such a great check because coverage, move to the bottom
  • Switches into STABs easily
  • Hazes away boosts and forces Voodoom out with even Air Slash
  • Has to watch out for Thunderbolt and Psychic while coming in

**Faster Attackers**:
  • Voodoom’s frailty and average speed leave it vulnerable to faster attackers and revenge killers like what?
  • Mega Latios and Scarf Landorus-Therian are particularly troublesome due to being immune to Webs add Tornadus-T
  • Mega Latios has to watch out for Dark Pulse while coming in Mega Latios also has to be Draco Meteor to beat Voodoom effectively
**Revenankh**: change to priority users and add Mega Pinsir
  • Revenankh can easily KO Voodoom with Triage Drain Punch
  • Revenankh also is immune to Focus Blast, letting it find more switch-in opportunities than most
  • Dark Pulse while on the field can be fixed by Moonlight or simply clicking Drain Punch
  • Revenankh needs to watch out for Dark Pulse on switch-in
Just some initial comments, not stamping yet. I'm not sure if I want this analysis framed as as Veil and Webs mon yet because Hoopa-U has so many things over Voodoom for this role. Wherever you say "Fire-types" or "wallbreakers", follow it up with "such as [examples]" because that ties it back to the metagame. Also C&C isn't in bullets.

[OVERVIEW]

  • Voodoom ideally is a devastating you're overselling it here Nasty Plot sweeper due to a strong offensive type and enough speed to outspeed Band Kartana outspeeding Kartana isn't what makes it good as a Nasty Plot sweeper. it has a good speed tier, which allows it to outspeed Kartana, tie with Mega Latios, etc.
  • Cannot do this often because of bad bulk, quad weakness to Fairy and little to no power before setting up
  • Lightning Rod can be useful to come in on Electric-type moves, but many of them can defeat Voodom easily regardless, most notably Dazzling Gleam Tapu Koko
  • Mediocre coverage leaves it walled by Assault Vest Magearna and Mega Mawile except Mega Mawile gets OHKOed by unboosted Focus Blast - it actually has ok coverage so leave this out
  • Because of this, is only useful on Veil and Webs, as they provide bulk to set up and allows Voodoom to outspeed scarfers respectively webs and veil aren't run at the same time, separate them into two different sentences / clauses
  • However, it often has little to no reason to be run on said teams due to Hoopa-U outclassing it heavily because of better coverage, more power from the start and more versatility in its sets so you're running Voodoom for its superior speed
reorder so it reads 1, 2, 5, 6, 3 - Voodoom's a Nasty Plot sweeper with speed / but it has bad bulk, typing, and unboosted power / it really only fits on veil or webs / but then hoopa-u pretty much outclasses it except for speed / lightning rod would be useful but it's really not

after that talk about how voodoom is otherwise pretty outclassed as a Dark-type by Ash Gren and Colossoil and as a Fighting-type by Tomohawk and Revenankh

  • Thunderbolt nails Tomo on switch-in as well as does it OHKO? Arghonaut, Toxapex and Celesteela what about on these? add Tornadus-T
Set Details
========
  • Lightning Rod allows for switching into Electric-types, such as Cyclohm, Zapdos and Krilowatt you can pivot into electric-type moves, not electric-type mons - can block volt switch, absorb discharge, etc.
  • Maximum Special Attack and Speed with a Timid nature maximize power and speed, what does Timid do that Modest would not? - lets it tie with mega latios, outspeed kart, etc.
  • Life Orb increases power while still allowing set up, marked out fluff, talk about why Life Orb is pretty much necessary
  • Alternatively, Fightinium Z is an option to blast Celesteela while still being able to run Flash Cannon, but only if no other teammate is using a Z-Crystal.

  • Nasty Plot is the main draw to Voodoom, sharply raising its Special Attack, giving it enough power to attempt a sweep
  • Dark Pulse is Dark STAB, 2HKOing Specially Defensive Pajantom as well as OHKOing Kitsunoh as well as Mega Latios if rocks are up, all unboosted. since it's a boosting set, lets go with "OHKOs Mega Latios and Kitsunoh unboosted and specially defensive pajantom when at +2
  • Focus Blast is Fighting STAB and is strong but inaccurate, with it beating things like Ferrothorn and Stratagem replace stratagem with Chansey
  • Flash Cannon nails OHKOs Fairies such as Clefable, Jumbao, Kerfluffle, and Tapu Lele and 2HKOs Clefable when boosted. on switch-in
  • Thunderbolt 2HKOs Tomo unboosted, as well as 2HKOing Toxapex if boosted. It also 2HKOs Celesteela if rocks are up, OHKOs Tornadus-T if rocks are up and 3HKOs Arghonaut after rocks argho stalls this out, so i wouldn't list it, all unboosted. after reading what this actually does, i think tbolt needs to go to OO - tomo, pex, argho are all able to stall it out, torn-t takes a bunch from dark pulse already, and celesteela can't really eat a focus blast well
Set Details

  • Lightning Rod allows for switching into Electric-type moves, most notably Thunderbolt and Volt Switch from Tapu Koko and Krilowatt. explain why it's used over Volt Absorb
  • Maximum Special Attack and Speed with a Timid nature maximize power and speed, allowing it to outspeed Kartana as well as speed tieing with Mega Latios and Kitsunoh
  • Life Orb increases power, securing OHKOs on neutral hits at +2, such as Tapu Lele and Gliscor.
  • Alternatively, Fightinium Z is an option to blast Celesteela without taking recoil damage while still being able to run Flash Cannon, but only if nothing else on the team is running a Z crystal mention that Fightinium means that voodoom can fire off a fully accurate attack, but it loses power on dark pulse and flash cannon
Usage Tips

  • Use Voodoom to pressure VoltTurn cores into not using Volt Switch by switching it in if you expect Volt Switch
  • Voodoom is best used as a late-game cleaner once things that beat Voodoom are out of the way do you need to preserve voodoom for the end of a match or can it come in earlier to threaten something out?
Team Options

  • Dragon Dance Naviathan can pressure Fairy-types from switching in on Voodoom, and Voodoom in return switches into Electric-type moves that would usually fry Naviathan this seems similar to the usage tip above, try to merge them together
  • Quiver Dance Aurumoth likewise can pressure Fighting-types while Voodoom pressures Rock-types, most notably Stratagem this tip doesn't sit right with me - voodoom doesn't really have the best MU with strata, and auru still beats ttar and mega cruci most of the time
add on stealth rock setters like SD Boom Lando, etc.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]

Other Options

Mega Latios replace this with Torn-T and Scarf Landorus-T are particularly troublesome due to being unhindered by Sticky Web. However, Mega Latios has to watch out for Dark Pulse while coming in, speed ties with Voodoom and can only beat Voodoom if it has Draco Meteor. change this so that it reads like "Mega Latios can beat Voodoom, but it risks a speed tie" Mega Crucibelle has to also watch out for the occasional Psychic as well.

• Flash Cannon OHKOs Fairies such as Jumbao, Kerfluffle, and Tapu Lele on switch-in and 2HKOs Clefable when boosted. Alright so this sentence is phrased poorly. "On switchin" implies an attack that occurs when they immediatly switch in. If they switch in on the NP, which is needed to OHKO all of them, then the attack doesn't happen on the switchin. It should be "After a Nasty Plot boost". Even with the boost Specially Defensive Jumbao is a roll to OHKO with rocks up, and a 2hko w/o them.

For every teammate mentioned make sure you talk about what Voodoom does in return for them.

Other Options
=============

  • Thunderbolt 2HKOs Tomohawk and Tornadus-T if rocks are up
  • If running Thunderbolt, you can run Electrium Z to OHKO Toxapex and Celesteela if boosted and KO Arghonaut unboosted after a Thunderbolt As well as the aforementioned mons on the switchin, which is particularly relevant about Tornadus-t
===================

I think it would be best to label this as Fighting-types and mention Hawlucha as an offensive check. Then slot this above priority users.

Implement this check and then write this up. QC 2/3
