Vullaby @ Eviolite
Ability: Overcoat
Level: 5
Tera Type: Dragon
EVs: 156 Atk / 156 Def / 156 SpD / 36 Spe
Impish Nature
- Brave Bird
- Knock Off
- Defog
- Roost
Thanks to a great pool of utility options, solid defenses, and decent offensive output even without investment, Vullaby finds itself as one of LC's strongest defensive pivots. Knock Off makes common switch-ins like Mudbray and Chinchou wary to come in safely, while both Defog and Roost let Vullaby act as both a team's form of entry hazard control and a solid check to Pokemon like Mienfoo and Alolan Diglett. Tera Dragon is a great defensive Tera type, allowing Vullaby to check Pokemon like Torchic and Elekid more reliably while also removing its otherwise crippling weakness to Stealth Rock. The EV investment allows Vullaby to maintain as much bulk as possible while still outspeeding Mudbray. Vullaby's general passivity against Pokemon like Shellder and Glimmet means that checks to these two, such as Mareanie and Grookey, make excellent partners. Vullaby's ability to come in and check the likes of Foongus, Gothita, and Toedscool benefits Pokemon like Mienfoo, Elekid, and Alolan Diglett in allowing them to punch holes through the opposing team.
