Wait... Floatzel isn't Uber?
An NU team

Hey guys, this is my 1st NU RMT. I haven't really laddered too much with this team, but I have played a lot of matches and it has really fared well. This team is centralized on weakening the opponents team to the point that a LO Floatzel can come in and clean up the game. I have a dedicated lead, which are not very popular in the current metagame, but I find that despite being countered, it usually gets the job done. I try to use unique, yet effective sets for the surprise factor, and also because they perform well. So, please enjoy the RMT and give any advise or feedback possible. Thanks!

Jason (Glalie) (M) @ Focus Sash
Trait: Inner Focus
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd
Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Taunt
- Ice Shard
- Spikes
- Icy Wind

Glalie is my Dedicated suicide lead. It's job is to get spikes up, and toprevent the opponent from getting their hazards up. I don't have a spinner, so taunt helps to keep opposing hazards at bay. Ice shard is to do some last ditch damage to frail or ice weak pokes once hazards are up, and icy wind is to stop pokemon from setting up.

ifilivealone (Haunter) (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Substitute
- Disable
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power [Ground]

Haunter is an amazing poke for causing residual damage by causing switches, and wearing walls down. Substitute and disable are a deadly combination, especially with haunter's blazing speed for the tier. it has a total of 3 immunities, and a plethora of resistances to abuse. Most walls in the tier only carry 1 attacking move that can break haunter's sub, so once they are disabled they must either switch, racking up hazard damage, or face repeated attacks from haunter's base 115 special attack. hidden power ground is used for coverage, although it might be replaced for sludge bomb, due to the lack of steels in the tier.

dat ass (Altaria) (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Roost
- Dragon Pulse
- Roar
- Heal Bell

Altairia serves as a sponge for special moves, a cleric, and a phazer to rack up hazard damage. EV's maximize special bulk. Roost is reliable recovery, roar is to stop set up sweepers, and rack up damage. Heal bell is to heal the team of any status, such as burn or paralyze on Klang or Floatzel. Dragon pulse is to damage pokes. Alairia's ttyping helps with combusken, magmortar (lacking HP ice), and other special sweepers.

KlingKlang (Klang) @ Eviolite
Trait: Plus
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Substitute
- Shift Gear
- Gear Grind
- Return

Eviolite Klang is something i've never heard of anyone using, but i am really surprised why. They have the same HP, special defense, and special attack stat, while klang is much more bulky with eviolite. The only disadvantage is the Klang has a much lower speed, but this hardly matters because shift gear boosts it to insane levels. I run the exact same moveset as KlingKlang, but a different EV spread. I use Max speed because klang has abysmal speed, but adamant nature to do as much damage as possible. Klang often performs mid game sweeps, and softens up walls for Floatzel
I named it KlingKlang just for the lolz, and because people get tripped out because they look so similar.

Marley (Mesprit) @ Damp Rock
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def
Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Stealth Rock
- U-turn
- Thunder
- Rain Dance

Mespirit is my physical wall. It sets up rocks, and also sets up rain for Floatzel, which is vital. I wanted a bulky pokemon who could reliably set up rain, so Floatzel could run another coverage move. Stealth rock is to weaken pokemon for floatzel, thunder for the paralyze chance, Rain dance for obvious reasons, u- turn so floatzel doesn't have to take a hit. I run a - speed nature, so that after setting up rain, Mespirit can take an attack, and switch out to floatzel.

Lifeguard (Floatzel) (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Swift Swim
EVs: 252 Atk / 248 SAtk / 8 Spd
Naughty Nature (+Atk, -SDef)
- Waterfall
- Ice Beam
- Hidden Power [Grass]
- Crunch

And here we are, the star of the show, FLOATZEL Floatzel's sweep is what this whole team is based around. The purpose of the team is to weaken the opponent enough that floatzel can come in and fuck shit up. 8 speed EV's are all that is needed to outspeed the entire tier in rain. since no speed investment is needed, I can invest fully in both attacking stats. Waterfall is an insanely hard hitting stab in the rain, and decimates pretty much everything that is neutral to it. Ice beam is pretty buch for tangela, and other bulky grasses, because they usually invest in physical defense. HP grass is solely for quagsire, who would wall this set completely without it. Crunch is mostly for misdreavious.

So, please rate dat team.

Interesting concept (though you could add a little more description to Glalie), but if Floatzel is the star of your team, then why don't you have more than a single Rain Dance user? That's a lot of pressure to place on just Mesprit, who also has to set up Stealth Rocks. I've tried out Klang a while ago and I wasn't impressed since its power is lacking even at +1 since the moves aren't that great and its speed is still a little lacking after +2. Absol can also destroy most of your team and you have no way to really take it out. If you don't want to take it off the team, you can at least replace Icy Wind with Rain Dance on Glalie. Or replace it with something bulkier like Garbordor, who can also set up Toxic Spikes (which really helps you deal with things like Jynx and Magmortar more easily)

I would say that Klang is the weakest link of your team, so maybe replace it with a Rain setter, or something that can also take advantage of the Rain. Electrode is a Pokemon that fulfills both roles reliably, and has Thunder to boot. Since this team doesn't seem overly defensive, you can also try out Scarfed Rotom-S so you have a reliable revenge killer who can also deal with Gorebyss. Gorebyss VERY easily wipes out your team after a Shell Smash, especially if you're kind enough to set up Rain for it. Finally, I have to say that Floatzel needs to invest more in speed, because if you don't have Rain set up, it is outsped by too many things in the tier (anything that's faster than a Jolly max Spe Kingler). Invest 132 Spe EVs like the analysis says to outspeed non Scarfed Rotom-A is probably necessary. Even one of the above suggestions can help round out your team, though the one I MOST recommend is the increase in Speed for Floatzel. Hope this helps!
