Most Warstories have been level 100 6v6, so I'd thought I'd post up some level 50 3v3 battles since PBR is almost here.
So a little earlier I finally got my 6v6 team finished (So I guess I'm accepting challenges) and a friend wanted to test out how he faired against a Jolly Garhcomp which he was very afraid of. So picked the few I thought would work well on a 3v3 and team and we had at it.
Teams in order of apperance:
My Team:
Player 2's team(not a smogonite):
Turn One:
Alchemy sent out Porygon-Z!
Player 2 sent out Aerodactyl!
I was at an obvious disadvantage, Aero would simply outspeed me and OHKO. Time to switch to my wall.
Turn Two:
Alchemy switched in Cresselia!
Player Two's Aerodactly used Rock Slide for 20%~ish
Hurray for Cresselia with 31 IVs in Defense (and Special Defense). Cresselia here easily could OHKO with Ice Beam and Moon Light off the rest of the damage, which my opponent apparently knew.
Turn Three:
Player Two switched in Metagross!
Alchemy's Cresselia used Ice Beam for less then what Leftovers recovered.
Ugh. I didn't know this guys team prior to battling and Metagross was a pain. Wasn't too sure on what to do here, so I decided to see how little damage a Grass Knot did. Bad idea, as this is what caused my Garchomp to die, but really unavoidable since it would have happened during the switch regardless.
Turn Four:
Player Two's Metagross used Agility!
Alchemy's Cresselia used Grass Knot for less then what Leftovers recovered.
Damn it. I really should have just Calm Minded here. Note taken down. Now his Metagross outspeeds everything on my team. Ugh.
Turn Five:
Player Two's Metagross used Meteor Mash for around 30%.
Alchemy's Cresselia used Ice Beam for less then what Leftovers recovered.
I was testing the waters to see if I could get an early freeze and to see how much damage that Metagross did. Metagross hit hard, but not really too dangerous. It was here I tried a gamble. I knew this would turn into a nasty stall war if I couldn't KO with my Garchomp, so lets see how this goes.
Turn Six:
Alchemy switched in Garchomp!
Player Two's Metagross used Meteor Mash for around 60%.
Ouch. Atleast he didn't predict the switch for an easy OHKO with Ice Punch. Time to see if Chomps still has the edge in speed and to save me from an horrible stall war.
Turn Seven:
Player Two's Metagross used Ice Punch KOing Garchomp!
Alchemy sent in Cresselia.
Oh crap. His Metagross packed enough speed after a single Agility to wreck Chomp. Well goody. He was happy, I was not. It was at this point I thought I'd lose, but decided to give stalling a workout.
Many many many turns:
Instead of going on for every turn during this stall exchange I've decided to simply summarize what happened:
Cresselia stalls with Moonlight and manages to sneak in two Calm Minds in the process. During this exchange Metagross was attempting to freeze me with Ice Punch (which was doing around 20% per hit). Metagross managed to freeze Cresselia TWICE, but both tims was unable to kill Cresselia before it defrosted.
Cresselia managed to freeze ONCE with Ice Beam, and the killer here, Metagross was frozen for around 5 turns allowing me to KO it with Grass Knot. In the process my Cresselia ran out of Moonlight PP (no PP ups used) but left the exchange with full health.
Player Two sends in Aerodactyl!
Barring absurd flinch hax from Rock Slide I had this bird as good as dead.
Turn N-1:
Player Two's Aerodactyl used Rock Slide for around 20%.
Alchemy's Cresselia OHKO'd with Ice Beam.
Hurray for no flinch hax!
Player Two sent out Starmie!
Knew I'd be able to outstall Starmie, but wasn't sure how much Grass Knot would do since I figured it wouldn't weigh much.
Turn N:
Player Two's Starmie used Surf for less then what Leftovers would recover! (Thanks Calm Mind!)
Alchemy's Cresselia used Grass Knot OHKOing Starmie! (Thanks again Calm Mind!)
Victory!
Props:
-Cresselia being the manliest floating space duck in the world, and Calm Mind for rocking. The special defense boost was useless but the attack boost is what kept me in the game.
-Metagross was pretty beastly, and without my freeze hax would have 3-0'd me. Seriously, Agiligross is a champ and wrecks any non-scarfed Garchomp.
-Freeze Hax saved the day. Ice moves are amazing.
Slops:
-Garchomp and Porygon-Z did literally nothing.
-Need more PP on Moonlight... must find PP ups. If it wasn't for Freeze Hax I'd have lost since Moonlight was gone.
