After my last warstory being sort of lame, considering it was against a complete noob who did not know what an uber was, this one is much more competitive. I was on IRC(I've only been on IRC for about a month), and had just lost to Surgo, so I was feeling pretty down. I did a couple arrangements to my team, dropping my Heracross for a much needed Gyarados-countering Cresselia, and challenged Aamto to a battle.
I decided to make this a warstory, because of how Magnezone operated in the battle.
My team:
His Team:
Salamence was a strong lead in this instance, I don't think Aamto's Slaking had many SpDef EV's, and I decided to use Draco Meteor.
Matt withdrew Slaking. Go Jirachi!
Salamence used Draco Meteor!
(35%-40%)
Jirachi was a defitnate surprise, but my team was prepared. I sent in Magnezone, hoping it didn't have U-Turn.
Charles withdrew Salamence. Go Magnezone!
Jirachi used Reflect!
Now, it seemed like it was Phuquoph's standard set, so Magnezone may or may not be safe. I decided to play conservatively that turn, expecting a U-Turn into Dugtrio being the worst possible situation for Magnezone(Although I was fully prepared to kill a Dugtrio switch in with Hidden Power Ice).
Jirachi used Zen Headbutt!(Miss)
Magnezone used Substitute!
Alright, 25% off my Magnezone's health, but with the sub up I could freely T-Wave whatever it U-Turned into, which I did.
Jirachi used U-Turn!(Doesn't break my substitute)
Matt sent out Gallade!
Magnezone used Thunderwave!
I can see why Aamto switched Gallade in, its Special Defense is relatively high, and it can survive a T-bolt or two. But under Thunder-Wave, I don't think so.
Magnezone used Thunderbolt!(45%-50%)
Gallade used Night Slash!(Breaks my sub, I expected it, after taking damage from Jirachi's U-Turn).
After this turn, Gallade threatens me with Close Combat, since my substitute is gone. But then again, a couple turns of Leftovers recovery gave my Magnezone a bit more HP. I decided to use substitute again.
Magnezone used Substitute!(25%)
Gallade used Close Combat!(Breaks my Sub)
Why Aamto didn't use Close Combat the turn before was because, if he did, T-Bolt will surely do around 75%, solidifying my 2HKO(Leftovers fucked up my last T-Bolt).
Magnezone used Substitute!(25%)
Gallade used Night Slash!(Does not break my substiute)
I'm beginning to wonder if the rest of Aamto's team is ready to take Magnezone, since Gallade has been on Magnezone a while now. There is a good chance there is no Dugtrio on his team, so I'll have to see what happens next.
Matt withdrew Gallade! Go Celebi!
Magnezone used Thunderbolt!CRITICAL HIT(60%)
Well, he probably thinks I don't have HP Ice, but I do. And I was not going to hesitate to use it.
Celebi used Calm Mind!
Magnezone used HP Ice!(45% or so, Celebi was sent down to Yellow).
I really doubt if Celebi still wants to stay in, seeing as it has taken a bit too much damage this turn. I'm predicting a switch, and another Thunder Wave.
Magnezone used Thunder Wave!
Celebi used Psychic! Critical Hit!(Breaks my Magnezone's substitute)
Mispredict, wasted turn. Aamto's prediction(or Blind Luck) saved his Celebi, and since my Sub was gone I decided to switch out.
Charles withdrew Magnezone, sent out Salamence!
Celebi used Psychic(45%-50%, it sent my Salamence into the red).
That was a really dumb switch on my part, but Blissey is out of the picture due to the possibility of leech seed. Celery is about to get roasted.
Matt withdrew Celebi, sent out Salamence!
Salamence used Flamethrower!(10%)
Okay, he had a Salamence of his own. I had an extremely good switch in Cresselia, but Cresselia was completely defensive(252 HP/252 Def Bold) and lacked Special Walling. I am taking a huge gamble here, one that could really lose me this game.
Charles withdrew Salamence. GO CRESSELIA!
Salamence used Dragon Claw!(20%)
My gamble paid off I guess, but after this I am going to do a lot of retraining on this Cresselia later on. I have the advantage, Cresselia was about to say, "BY THE POWER OF THE MOON, I SHALL PUNISH YOU!" right in Salamence's face.
Matt withdrew Salamence! Sent out Jirachi!
Cresselia used Ice Beam(10%)
I guess Sailor Moon really didn't do anything for me, so it'll have to switch out. Jirachi is probably going to Wish this turn, anyway.
Charles withdrew Cresselia! Sent out Tauros!
Jirachi used Wish!
I love Tauros, anything without a decent Normal resist is seriously raped by Tauros' evil horns.
Jirachi used Reflect!
Tauros used Earthquake!(20% or so, it did not kill Jirachi)>
Jirachi's HP was Restored with Wish!
I was pretty surprised at Tauros' lack of speed, I might have not of EV trained it as well as I could(It should have 252) but maybe not. Jirachi was formidable, and I had to find a way to kill it.
Charles withdraws Jirachi, sends out Gliscor!
Jirachi used Zen Headbutt!(10%)
I was going to set up Stealth Rock here, so I did.
Matt withdrew Jirachi! Go Donphan!
Gliscor used Stealth Rock!
Again, I am at a prediction crossroad, I am leaning towards sending in Salamence again. I am pretty sure that Donphan will Rapid Spin, although it could Ice Shard and KO my Salamence.
Charles withdrew Gliscor. Scatter, SALAMENCE!(I am a Bleach fan).
Donphan used Stealth Rock!
Salamence has pretty low health right now, although now that I'm writing this I don't particularly remember. Senbonzakura(Salamence) is about to go bankai on this Donphan. :D
Donphan used Ice Shard! (30%)
Salamence used Draco Meteor(Donphan Fainted!)
Matt sent out Salamence!
Salamence survived, but it won't be able to switch in any longer due to Stealth Rock. I am pretty sure this Salamence is fully physical, so a switch into Cresselia would be a smart decision.
Charles withdrew Salamence! Go Cresselia!
Salamence used Flamethrower!(45%)
Cresselia took a shitload, and with mine relying almost completely on rest, I don't think it was ready to take another Salamence hit, and I know in my mind Aamto can win this with Salamence alone.
Salamence used Dragon Claw!(20%)
Cresselia used Ice Beam!(Salamence fainted)
Aamto sent out Jirachi!
So I got rid of Salamence, although I slipped passed lossing barely right there. I'm going to switch into Magnezone again, who is pretty healthy at around 65% health. Stealth Rock will hurt it, but I was not too worried about that.
Charles withdrew Cresselia! Go Magnezone!
Jirachi used Reflect!
Alright, the reason why I wanted to make this into a warstory is because of the events of the battle after this turn.
Jirachi used Zen Heabutt!(5%)
Magnezone used Substitute!(25%)
Jirachi is still very healthy because of the earlier Wish, and Magnezone is in the yellow after using that Substitute. But I was going to finish this battle.
Jirachi used Zen HEadbutt!
Magnezone used Thunder-Wave! Jirachi became paralyzed!
Magnezone is a force to be reckoned with, T-waving Jirachi is going to allow Magnezone to hit it with Thunderbolt if it switches out.
Magnezone used Thunderbolt!(75%)
Jirachi is fully paralyzed! It can't move
Magnezone did a number to Jirachi, and now I know Magnezone is going to kill Jirachi. It still has a Sub up too. :D
Magnezone used Thunderbolt!(Jirachi Fainted)
Matt sent out Gallade!
I don't think he can win anymore, so he is just sending out pokes to fuck with me.
Magnezone used Thunderbolt!(Gallade fainted)
MAtt sent out Celebi!
Magnezone isn't going to have a hard time with Celebi, considering it has HP Ice.
Celebi used Psychic!(Magnezone's sub is gone now).
Magnezone used Thunderbolt!(15%)
That was really dumb of me, but I didn't suffer too much from it. I was going to use HP Ice now, just to solidfy my KO. Celebi is in the red, and HP ice is sure to kill it.
Magnezone used Hidden Power!(Celebi Fainted!)
Matt sent out Slaking!
Charles Withdrew Magnezone! Go Blissey!
Slaking used Return!
Go Magnezone!
6-1
I have the match in the bag, so I sacrificed my Blissey in order to bring out Magnezone for the win.
5-1
Magnezone used Thunder Wave!
Slaking is loafing around
Magnezone used Substitute!
Slaking used Return!
Magnezone used Thunderbolt!(90%).
Slaking is loafing around!
Magnezone used Thunderbolt!
The last moments of the battle went by pretty fast, so I didn't want to do play by play commentary. Magnezone was really strong here, it was its second battle(After my loss against Surgo) and it really did pay off. Magnezone is really powerful, and deserves some more recognition.
Pros:
-Magnezone ownage
Cons:
-I won by luck really, I don't what Aamto was thinking when he used Dragon Claw instead of Flamethrower on my Cresselia, but Iono.
-U-Turn Jirachi messing up my Magnezone's trap. Damn You Phuqouph..
This is the third team I've constructed for D/P, and it was my second battle using Specsmence, Magnezone, and Tauros. My first with Cresselia also. Will Post Pictures Later.
I decided to make this a warstory, because of how Magnezone operated in the battle.
