Hey guys just wanted to post a fun team I created to try and take advantage of the new drops, specifically Sylveon. So me and my good friend Thisbemyalt decided to try getting some ladder games while messing with our good friend Kreme. So I basically slapped on some slow turn and some slow setup to boot with toxic spike support. Team is mostly fun so its bound to lose to a few threats I might have forgotten about.

Of course I started with the mon I was most hyped about the nuke itself.

Ability: Pixilate

Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 30 SpA / 30 Spe

- Baton Pass
- Hidden Power [Fire] / Echoed Voice
- Psyshock

Alright to start sylveon is a decent mon, I dont know about it being broken as people are making it out to be But I definitely think its a great addition to the tier (Mostly bored of using florges and whimsi as dreigon checks). It puts out massive damage with specs hyper voice which believe me in the games me and thisbemyalt played is one of the only two moves you'll ever click. Its serves as the overall dragon check (keeping mons from clicking outrage or draco) and nuke. The second move youll be clicking often is probably baton pass since it synergizes so well with pursuit krook on the times you see metagross or bronzong in the back. Psyshock allows you to slam incoming nidos or tentas while the 3rd slot I have I dont really normally use it to be honest ive just had fun with it really.

Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Pursuit
- Knock Off
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock

Krook is one of the premier pursuit trappers in this tier and this match made in heaven for sylveon (I am sure the entire tier was thinking about this long before sylveon dropped). The ground types forces mons to think twice about volt switch thanks to the mega amphy in the back resisting common switcher stabs like rotom-m or rotom-h. I decided on life orb over standard dread plate since the team is obviously lacking physical attackers and I needed the krook to stand out more. Stab knock off offers powerful stab and item removal while earthquake is just great stab in general. Of course the mandatory rocks have been placed here.

- Volt Switch
- Dragon Pulse
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

This mon has been getting good in my opinion, and with the right support is perfectly fine to use as a mega. So far in my experience you can literally just lead off with thing due to the rest, allowing you to really just take it easy with all the damage you eat up. Its perfect as a partner with sylveon as it just eats up a large amount of hits from steel types even when they do drop an earthquake on switch in, and allows you to slow turn off its counters that arent half ground (sp.def gligar). Teams in today's meta just aren't prepared to deal with decent electric/dragon stab coupled with volt switch, the damage really stacks up with most volt absorbers taking more then half from dragon pulse. Great mega aero and crobat check in general.

Timid Nature
- U-turn
- Leaf Storm
- Healing Wish
- Psychic

Ya I've been getting some flake for this set (not using scarf shaymin), But I really feel like the u-turn is quite important for this team in particular since it allows me to check alakazam by at least bursting its sash if they carry one since u-turn 2hkos. It tends to lure a decent amount of players since they just always expect this thing to be the same old utility/lo sweeper/stat passing set and it outspeeds almost every scarfer barring shao while still carrying respectable bulk. Natural cure on a scarfer is nice as it allows you to dodge status from burns or thunderwave while allowing you to continue gaining momentum. The healing wish is to aid anyone on the team in case for example cress was toxiced or something while also allowing a safe switch in to sylveon if it gets too low. finally dual stab for the last two slots for damage overall.

Shantay (Cresselia) @ Colbur Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 160 HP / 252 Def / 96 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Psyshock
- Calm Mind
- Moonblast
- Moonlight

This thing is pretty annoying in its ability to tank hits and is my overall physical blanket check while catching certain mons off guard with its colber that would otherwise pulverize my team. I run enough speed to outpace jolly crawdaunt since it really doesnt take much prior damage to kill a daunt who has tried to switch in on my calm mind. The psyshock allows me to setup alongside mons like non roar cune or mons who cant really touch me thanks to its stupidly massive bulk. speed also allows you to outpace sylveon for a cm if they think they are about to nuke you down. The mons job in general is to check mamoswine since my team is dreadfully weak to it being that its so slow and the only ones who outspeed it are weak to its main stab or just isnt doing enough damage. CM is a great set and I think should be used more often after trying it out for myself.

Young Teezy (Tentacruel) @ Black Sludge
Ability: Liquid Ooze
EVs: 160 HP / 252 Def / 96 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Acid Spray
- Rapid Spin
- Toxic Spikes

This is a personal spread I like to use which out speeds +speed nature mons at base 80 namely chandelure and mamoswine. Its my hazard control as well as my method to dealing with mons like cm florges or suicune since i can just acid spray them down for sylveon (this also tends to force a large amount of switches if I drop an acid spray before going down on a slower bulkier mon like snorlax). Its typing is great and offers me a fallback in case I got too ahead of myself and decided not to lead off with amphy versus a player who has entei. Toxic spikes add to the severity of hyper voices from sylveon for people trying to check it with sp.def arcanine which is just spike fodder for cruel really.

Team Weaknesses:
metagross.gif

Cant really switch into this thing at time seeing as how clear body deflects krooks intimidate and eq can be a problem if amphy is low enough.

snorlax.gif

Also a pain in the ass since as long as you dont play it like this is digimon adventures this thing easily plows on the team.

alakazam.gif

Celebi checks it sure but my team is pretty damn slow and it can quickly become a problem if your celebi got taken out earlier in some way.

beedrill.gif

Personally I dont have any troubles with it since I just tend to have a better matchup versus the rest of its team normally but I can see it being a problem if you dont play the slowturn correctly.

Wtf Killin plays Pokemon and makes RMTs? I might need to come back to witness this.

Also give Sylveon a real move in 3rd slot, like Quick Attack or Hyper Beam.

The problem with running hyper beam is that you have to be willing to sack sylveon, ur opp has to have no mon that can use a free turn to setup and win, and the mon you are attacking has to die to Beam but not voice and its just so rare that these criteria are ever met. QA also gives your opp a potential setup and is generally weak as fuck so hardly any point to running it imo. Overall bp+shadow ball is much better than anything else you would run in those last few slots on this team at least

Hey Killintime and Thisbemyalt , nice team. Sylveon with slow pivots is such an annoying team structure and you guys have made a great example of it.

You mention a pretty big weakness to certain physical attackers as well as Alakazam. Switching Cresselia to Defensive Rotom-H seems like a decent fit here. You maintain a switch-in to Mamoswine while gaining a switch-in to Metagross as well as to things like Beedrill. I would definitely run either Thunder Wave or Foul Play so as to maintain as many Entei checks as possible.

After this change there are only really two issues to address as far as I'm concerned: the teams over-reliance on special attackers making you very weak to stuff like Snorlax, and the very low speed of the team. In order to fix this you need both something that switches in to Snorlax and beats it as well as something that functions as a fast physical attacker. Since Rotom largely eclipses the role that Ampharos plays on the team, I'll be replacing it. The only mon that I can think of that's a fairly guaranteed switch in to Snorlax that fits these criteria is Shuca Cobalion over Ampharos.

With these changes I'm certain that at the very least I've mitigated some of the major threats to the team, and hopefully (although I've not played with it yet), improved the overall function of the team.

Hi there, love me some Ampharos. Here are some changes I have to help the team out:

After a bit of deliberation, I think Gyarados over Cresselia is a better fit for this team since it helps with your currently massive Heracross weakness as well as something to take advantage of Celebi's HW support. You still keep a Mamoswine check, albeit a less long-term one, but with HW it only needs to force it out a few times. It also synergizes with Krook very well both offensively and defensively and provides a way to take advantage of the Grounds that plague Ampharos.

Forry > Tentacruel is to help with the team's larger Aero weakness if you make the above change. I also suggest this since Spikes work so much better than TSpikes with Sylveon since 90% of Sylveon's switch ins do not care for Toxic Spikes (Steels/Poisons). With Heavy Slam, you still retain a Florges check, and Amphy comfortably switches into most of UU's fires.

251.png

This is really niche but I don't see any other way to help with Snorlax without shuffling too much. Perish Song over Leaf Storm is an option to force it out as well as acting as an emergency stop to any sweep, like against a Reuniclus if Krook goes down.

Forretress @ Leftovers

Hope I helped
