Watermelons [UU RMT]

So for a while, I decided to give Pokemon a rest since I had so much work with school and stuff. But now Spring Break's here and I've got some time to play. So in honor of Spring Break and Pokemon Platinum, I decided to build a new team. My new team has gotten mixed results on Shoddy, so I know there is definitely room for improvement. But without further adieu, my new team:

============
The Lead
dpiconani146.gif
Moltres @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 40 Def/252 SpA/216 Spe
Timid Nature (+Spe, -Atk)
- U-Turn
- Overheat
- Air Slash
- Will-O-Wisp
---
Role: Just a Simple scarftres. Scout out with U-turn, hit things hard with Overheat and Air Slash. I'm debating whether or not to replace W-O-W because I hate getting locked into a status inducing move. Moltres can also take fighting/grass hits for Rhydon (if stealth rock isn't in play). Was originally a Countersash Raichu. I thought Moltres better fit the team than Raichu.
---
The Lure
dpiconani492.gif
Shaymin @ Life Orb
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 32 HP/252 SpA/224 Spe
Nature: Timid (+Spe, -Atk)
- Seed Flare
- Earth Power
- Leech Seed
- Synthesis
---
Role: When I first chose Shaymin, I meant him to act as a lure for Drapion (so as to not give Leafeon problems). After drawing it out, I'd Earth Power it. Synthesis over rest for quicker recovery. I don't think Shaymin functions very well as a lure, but regardless, it works well as a sweeper. Maybe a different lure?
---
The Wall Smasher
dpiconani034.gif
Nidoking @ Life Orb
Ability: Poison Point
EVs: 200 Atk/252 SpA /56 Spe
Nature: Rash (+SpA, -SpD)
- EQ
- Ice Beam
- T-Bolt
- HP Grass?
---
Role: Nidoking acts a wall-breaker and as a sweeper. He decimates walls as well as Leafeon's counters, like Drapion and Altaria. EQ for STAB and Drapion, Ice Beam for Altaria, T-Bolt for flying types. Questioning the type of HP. Maybe Megahorn over HP Grass?
---
The Support
dpiconani181.gif
Ampharos @ Light Clay
Ability: Static
EVs: 252 HP/80 SpA/176 SpD
Nature: Modest (+SpA, -Atk)
- Discharge
- HP Ice
- T-Wave
- Light Screen
---
Role: Man, I've always loved Ampharos. I always wanted to find a team to put him on, but I never could. Here, Amphy acts as my support, causing electric havoc with Thunder Wave. Psuedo-Boltbeam for coverage, light screen for Support. I was thinking maybe I could go Amphy-boah and use subpunch, but I figured the support was better for the team.
---
The Rock
dpiconani112.gif
Rhydon @ Leftovers
Ability: Rock Head
EVs: 244 HP/184 Def/80 SpD
Nature: Impish (+Def, -SpA)
- EQ
- Avalanche
- Stealth Rock
- Stone Edge
---
Role: Rhydon. That's right. Rhydon acts as a UU Rhyperior Tank. It takes hits pretty well and causes some havoc with EQ, Avalanche, and SE. Sets up Stealth Rock Support. I wish Rhydon had some status inducing moves, but I'll settle for what it has. Walls stuff. Hard.
---
The Late-Game Sweeper
dpiconani470.gif
Leafeon @ Salac Berry
Ability: Leaf Guard
IVs: 252 Atk/4 Def/252 Spe
Nature: Jolly (+Spe, -SpA)
- Substitute
- Swords Dance
- Leaf Blade
- Flail
---
Role: My Late game sweeper. The one who everyone sets up for. Right now, you're probably thinking, Why Leafeon? I opted for a Subsalac Leafeon because it's not a set you normally see and I wanted a different sweeper. I was also thinking that maybe I could use Glaceon as opposed to Leafeon. Leafeon works well as sweeper. Sub, use SD, then sub until salac activates. Sweep. Simple enough.
---
And That's my team. All help is appreciated!

Megahorn (or HP Bug) on Nidoking over HP Grass. HP Grass takes water, rock, and ground - Bug takes Psychic, Dark, and Grass. You have EQ to take out Rock already, TBolt for Water, and Ice Beam to take out Ground. You need something to deal with the obvious Psychic switchins, being able to hit Absol helps. One more thing on Nidoking - Rivalry might actually be helpful for you, most people don't grab Female pokemon, because Shoddy defaults to Male, giving Nidoking a nice attack boost.

You'll want a different lure for Poison-types, Shaymin isn't really great at it.

Leafeon as a sole late-game sweeper is really risky, because Ice Shard can kill it off before it can set up. I recommend taking a second devoted sweeper, possibly in place of Amphy (or just turning him into a Subpuncher, like you said).

Rhydon < Steelix/Registeel/Bastiodon/Gastrodon for a wall. Especially for a single wall situation, you want a mixed wall like Registeel or Gastrodon (I'd recommend Gastrodon for this team, because you have a lot of grass resists, and almost no Fighting-resists). Steelix is a physical wall like Rhydon, but it's overall bulkier and has access to Toxic and Roar, as well as STAB EQ/Gyro Ball, and Stealth Rock. Bastiodon deserves mention too, because he's bulky enough to take a handful of hits, and a Focus Sash'ed Bastiodon with Metal Burst can basically guarantees that he can absorb a hit from a wall-breaker and return an OHKO. All of these other walls resist SR as well, and the steel-types are immune to Toxic Spikes, meaning switching away from a counter won't really be a problem.

This team has a lot of problems with Fire-types (2 weak and only 2 resist - and Moltres is 2x weak to SR, making switching him in a big problem), and Fighting-types (2 weak - including your wall - and only 1 resist). Also, special sweepers like SubCM Mismagius can take out most of your team - none of your pokemon are specially bulky.
