Checks and Counters
===================

**Kitsunoh**: By tracing Ogerpon-W's Water Absorb, Kitsunoh becomes immune to Ivy Cudgel while stil being resistant to its Grass STAB options. Kitsunoh is able to deny Ogerpon-W's setup with Encore, cripple its damage output with Strength Sap and Will-o-wisp, and threaten signifcant chip damage with Shadow Strike and U-turn. Most Kitsunoh invest in HP purely to live Ogerpon-W's unboosted Knock Off from full hp, ensuring that it's never incapable of checking it.

**Dragon Types**: With their natural bulk and ability to force out Ogerpon-W offensively, Dragon types like Kyurem, Raging Bolt, and Miasmaw can be excellent one-time checks. Dragapult fulfills this role too by threatening Ogerpon-W with Will-o-Wisp and denying its entry. Chuggalong can also take any one hit from Ogerpon-W and threaten an OHKO with Sludge Bomb in a pinch, or set up on sets lacking Stomping Tantrum.

**Defensive Terastallization**: Due to Ogerpon-W's STAB combination being rather difficult to resist, some teams may opt for Pokemon with certain defensive Tera Types in order to specifically counter it. Tera Grass Moltres, Primarina, and Slowking-G along with Tera Flying Mollux are all notable cases.

**Priority and faster Pokemon**: Sporting an awkward speed tier, Ogerpon-W finds itself outpaced and OHKOd by offensive threats like Roaring Moon, Darkrai, Iron Moth, and Iron Valiant. Moreover, Ogerpon-W is susceptible to being chipped into range of the tier's strong priority options, like Revenankh's Triage Drain Punch, Hemogoblin and Dragonite's Extreme Speed, and Kingambit's Sucker Punch.
