My teambuilding processes are rather simple. I choose a pokemon, decide to build a team that has that particular pokemon and... well, I build that team.
Teambuilding Process:
For this team, I chose Kingdra as the special guest of this team. People who played with that particular guy in their team (don't look at me, this is my first team that will feature Kingdra) know that the guy is so fucking bulky with 4x resistances to fire and water and unlike other dragon types, he doesn't give a fuck to ice type attacks, which goes rampant in the tear with the existence of abomasnow and mamoswine. Not to mention how fucking fast he is in rain with a dragon dance or two under his belt.
When I looked at the tier list (after listing them in the decreasing order of BST), the next thing I noticed in the tier was Kingdra's neighborhood dope man Tornadus. He can break other weather inducers into pieces and still abuse the rain just as much as Kingdra with his rain abusing move Hurricane. Did I mention his priority Rain Dance by the way?
Speaking of rain abusing moves, how can you skip Raikou? Especially when he can turn electric attacks that are directed to Tornadus and Kingdra into some green color in health bar and still use rain in his favor with the move Thunder under his belt to zap likes of Sigilyph, Suicune and Milotic, all of which can wall the other guys into eternity (Suicune and Milotic both with those high special defenses can still take a thunder or two in the face but well, Sigilyph can just go rampant with those status inducing stuff he has over there).
Oh those status inducing moves, how can I like you when you always miss when I use and always drain down my sweepers when I need them? I would rather turn this into WoW Arena Team instead of getting status'd to death. And also I can use Chansey just to heal my guts users off of their status damage. The only drawback of her is the look. Man, she looks so stupid among all 3 bad ass rain abusers.
Despite Machamp having access to Guts, I'm considering to use him with Dynamic Punch and Thunder Punch/Ice Punch with No Guard and use him as my attacking lead just like what he was in gen 4 OU.
As a rapid spinner, how can I even consider Hitmontop while there is Blastoise in the tier with Rain Dish in the account and his STAB Scald also gets boosted by rain. I mean, he has everything I'd need in a rapid spin user and he synergizes with the rest of the team. He can take all those physical attacks that Chansey dislikes to take and spin away all the entry hazards so that Raikou and Tornadus can haphazardly switch in and wreak a havoc on anything opposes.
Team:
Machamp (M) @ Leftovers Trait: No Guard
EVs: 240 HP / 248 Atk / 16 SDef / 4 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- DynamicPunch
- Payback
- Ice Punch
- Bullet Punch
I love machamp. It's pretty much straightforward. You use dynamic punch, and win. Dynamic Punch fucks a lot of things (especially Mamoswine and Abomasnow), Payback fucks Cresselia (nothing fucks Cresselia but Payback is the closest I could get to the point) and Chandelure, ThunderPunch fucks Milotic and I still have my Blastoise for something like Flygon (I am still getting so tempted to replace Bullet Punch with Ice Punch though, that coverage baby). Fuck Lum Berry, I have Chansey in my team.
Tornadus (M) @ Damp Rock
Trait: Prankster
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Rain Dance
- Hurricane
- Focus Blast
- U-turn
My primary rain setter. When he sets rain, I get 3 main options: Switch to Kingdra, switch to Raikou and stay with Tornadus with each one being more viable than the other 2. For example, I can catch something like Heracross, set my rain dance on his switch. Or predict his switch in into a U-turn and bam, he gets lost in the Hurricane. Damp Rock, just to increase Rain Dance to 8 turns and
Kingdra (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Swift Swim
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Substitute
- Outrage
- Waterfall
- Dragon Dance
Oh yeah, the superstar with his signature set. Only 4 Speed EVs because for the most of the time he'll be in rain and for the other times he'll have at least +2 DDs and he will be needing his speed EVs in HP more. Adamant because he'll be needing attack more than extra 10% speed. There is no better rain abuser than Kingdra in my opinion.
Raikou @ Leftovers
Trait: Volt Absorb
EVs: 128 HP / 76 Def / 52 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Thunder
- HP Ice
- Substitute
- Calm Mind
Raikou is awesome too. Just like Hurricane, Thunder gets accuracy bonus from weather and STAB bonus from user and SubCM is a wonderful combo and Thunder/Shadow Ball is good too.
Chansey (F) @ Eviolite
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Def / 252 SDef
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Wish
- Heal Bell
- Seismic Toss
- Toxic
Chansey is underrated. This guy staying in UU is just... well, bad for her. She should move to ubers anyway. With defensive stats of 642/178/463, she will probably live a span of 40 turns in an average battle. I put less EVs in HP than SDef because instead of her dealing wishes with 31 less HP and living 31 turns longer. Hell, she can even perform sweeps with seismic toss (well, she won't. But she will not show mercy to suicune).
Blastoise (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Rain Dish
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Scald
- Ice Beam
- Rain Dance
- Rapid Spin
Blastoise is the best rapid spinner in UU. Especially when you're lacking a solid defense and have rain support. Ice Beam fucks Flygons and other shitz like that while Scald deals damage and possibly burns other guys who are too low for Kingdra but still weak to fire type attacks.
