Smogon Sandstall RMT
Good Morning. *Thank you for reading my post. *I have been attempting to perfect the sandstall for many months now. *I think finally I have it. *I am down to just one detail. *I have an awesome calm mind Lucario and a more than stellar RestTalk Bronzong. *I don't know which my team needs more. *Please advise but remember I have the item clause and the lvl 50 clause as well.
Swampert (SR Lead) Rumble
Stealth Rock
Earth Power
Ice Beam
Protect
Lum Berry
Calm
252 HP/4 SpA/252 SpD
Swampert has become a very common lead, but with good reason. *I however have chosen a set that negates two threats and might help against a third. *The immediate two are Heatran and Starmie without Grass Knot. *Most people expect Earthquake, but I am using Earth Power to hit on most walls weaker side. *The only spinner that Swampert can't take on reliably is Tentacruel. *I however do no fully understand when Lead Metagross are supposed to explode. *Is it right after Stealth Rock or after an Earthquake.
Forretress (Spiker) Shrapnel
Toxic Spikes
Rapid Spin
Gyro Ball
Explosion
Shed Shell
Relaxed
252 HP/60 Atk/188 Def
Forretress is my Spiker, Spinner, and best asset against Gengar switch ins. *If I can predict the Gengar then it can take a STAB Gyro Ball to he face. *Otherwise I set up my spikes and switch out. *I can always explode on an Outrage locked Salamence later.
Hippowdon (Tank) Beatrice
Ice Fang
Stockpile
Slack Off
Earthquake
Sitrus Berry
Impish
252 HP/96 Def/160 SpD
Two thing here are going to cause people some questions. *The Sitrus berry is there because of the item clause and if timed well, activates in tandem with a stockpile allowing another stockpile before having to use slack off. *The other question is where is Roar. *I chose not to use roar because of Gliscor and other Taunt users. *Ice fang is there because most taunt users don't like Ice. *Elsewise this has been a formidable tank that only has real problems with water or grass types.
Empoleon (Phazer) Mumbles
Iron Defense
Grass Knot
Roar
Surf
Leftovers
Calm
252 HP/252 SpD/4 Def
Here is the surprise on the team. *Most people believe that Empoleons are the subpetaya variety. *That is not the case here. *Iron Defense on the switch and he gets much harder to take down. *After that I use the most apprpriate move available. *Roar will be the primary choice, but he has STAB Surf as well.
Rotom-W (Spin Blocker) Kenmore*
Thunderbolt
Hydro Pump
Rest
Sleep Talk
Colbur Berry
Calm
252 HP/200 Def/56 SpD
After denying it for almost two years, I have finally put a spin blocker in my team. *I have always like having a fully SS immune team, but Gliscor wasn't cutting it. *Discharge instead of Thunderbolt because of the number of pokemon hat are immune to Toxic Spikes. *The way his EV's are placed he is a very bulky wall.
Bronzong w/Levitate (Bulky Wall) Barry
Gyro Ball
Earthquake
Rest/Reflect
Sleep Talk/Light Screen
Occa Berry/Light Clay
252 HP/126 Def/130 SpD
I like him as another RestTalker. *He is also my lure for Heatran. *The Occa Berry spares him so that he can hit back with Earthquake. *As much as I like this setup, I think having a Dual Screener would work as well.
Lucario (Calm Mind Sweeper) Dash
Aura Sphere
Shadow Ball
Calm Mind
Vacuum Wave
Life Orb
Timid
252 SpA/252 Spe/4 HP
This is my absolute favorite Pokemon and at 26 it still means alot to me. *The concept is the same as the swords dance ExtremeSpeed set, but I like the special side more because of Skarmory would otherwise make me miserable. *He cleans up well, but is he really needed.
Thank you for your commentary that helps make this a better team.
