Ok, this is the first team I've made myself, so I want to know if I did a good job ^_^
Aerodactyl (F) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Taunt
- Stealth Rock
- Aerial Ace
- Rock Slide
On my team to set up entry hazards and stop pokemon from stalling with non-attacking moves. Sets up Stealth rock right away, then switches out to a pokemon that can OHKO the opponent's, or weavile if the opponent can't OHKO it, in order to lure out weavile's counters. If aerodactyl can OHKO T1, then do that, and THEN Stealth rock.
CLASH (Weavile) (F) @ Expert Belt
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Night Slash
- Ice Punch
- Brick Break
- Aerial Ace
The main attacker of the team. This set is meant to hit SE against almost any pokemon. Outspeed and KO is the main goal here. It is sent up early in the game to lure out fighting type pokemon. When that happens, send out dusknoir or alakazam and take care of them.
Ninjask (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Speed Boost
EVs: 172 HP/252 Atk/84 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Swords Dance
- Aerial Ace
- Baton Pass
- Substitute
Set up for Weavile. Swords dance once, get the speed boost, and Baton pass to Smeargle. Only gets sent up to start the chain AFTER Aerodactyl, Dusknoir, and Alakazam have taken care of the fighting attackers. Pretty standard really. Aerial ace for attacking in DIRE situations.
Smeargle (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Own Tempo
EVs: 96 HP/120 Def/252 Spd/40 SDef
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Substitute
- Swords Dance
- Baton Pass
- Spore
Can Substitute, Spore, and then baton pass after swords dancing as many times as possible to set up almost any pokemon! Replaces Ninjask if it dies.
Dusknoir (F) @ Choice Band
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 248 HP/252 Atk/8 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Shadow Sneak
- Earthquake
- Trick
- Thunderpunch
When Weavile lures out a pokemon that knows Fighting type attacks, dusknoir comes in and isn't effected by it. Can trick Choice Band on to a special attacker, which can be VERY annoying. EQ and Thunderpunch for type coverage.
Alakazam (F) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Synchronize
EVs: 252 Spd/252 SAtk/4 SDef
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Psychic
- Signal Beam
- Trick
- Focus Blast
Dusknoir's partner in crime. Takes care of fighting types that would pose serious threats to Weavile with psychic. Trick to annoy physical attackers. Signal beam and Focus Blast for type coverage.
Battle plan:
Aerodactyl sets up SR, then takes care of the opponent's lead, or switches to someone that can. Then, send up weavile. When the opponent switches in someone to take care of him, switch in an appropriate counter to handle it. Repeat a couple of times until later game, when the opponent's weavile counters are gone, then sweep with Weavile after setting him up with Ninjask/Smeargle.
Well, thats my team. What do you guys think? I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to competitive pokemon, but hopefully I can learn. (Battling 101 Round 40 can't start soon enough.)
