[OVERVIEW]

Weezing differentiates itself from other defensive Poison-types such as Garbodor and Golbat due to its access to Levitate, which lets it check Ground-types such as Steelix and Rhydon without a weakness to Stealth Rock. Additionally, Weezing's Poison typing allows it to check both Fighting- and Grass-type Pokemon such as Passimian, Decidueye, and Sceptile. Weezing's access to the combination of Will-O-Wisp and Taunt lets it be effective against more defensive teams. Unfortunately, Weezing faces heavy competition for the spot of a bulky Poison-type from Pokemon like Vileplume and Golbat, which have better Special Defense stats, allowing them to better check specially offensive Grass-types such as Whimsicott and Sceptile, as well as having access to more reliable recovery moves such as Strength Sap and Roost.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Sludge Bomb is Weezing's STAB attack of choice, letting it deal damage to Pokemon immune to Will-O-Wisp such as Incineroar while also possessing a 30% chance to poison foes. Will-O-Wisp lets Weezing burn physical attackers such as Klinklang and Dhelmise. Taunt allows Weezing to shut down opposing entry hazard setters such as Steelix and Torterra and prevent Pokemon like Decidueye from setting up. Furthermore, Taunt lets Weezing disrupt defensive teams, preventing Pokemon like Mega Audino, Type: Null, and Quagsire from doing their jobs. Pain Split provides Weezing with a source of recovery outside of Black Sludge, should Weezing opt for it, while also chipping away at Pokemon with more health than Weezing when Pain Split is used. Alternatively, Toxic Spikes helps weaken the opposing team, though Black Sludge should be the item of choice if forgoing Pain Split.

Set Details
========

44 Speed EVs allow Weezing to outspeed uninvested Vaporeon, allowing Weezing to use Taunt on it before it can use Wish or Heal Bell. 252 HP EVs and 212 Defense EVs with a Bold nature make Weezing as physically bulky as possible, allowing it to better handle Fighting- and Ground-type Pokemon such as Hariyama and Rhydon. Alternatively, a more specially defensive spread of 252 HP / 16 Def / 196 SpD / 44 Spe with a Bold nature lets Weezing better check specially offensive Grass-types like Whimsicott and Sceptile while still retaining the necessary physical bulk to check Pokemon like Passimian and Dhelmise. Rocky Helmet lets Weezing punish Pokemon such as Passimian and Scyther when they use U-turn and chips away at other physical attackers such as Decidueye and Hariyama whenever they use a contact move. Alternatively, Black Sludge provides Weezing with a source of recovery if not using Pain Split. Levitate is Weezing's only ability and allows it to switch into Ground-type moves from Pokemon such as Steelix and Torterra.

Usage Tips
========

Because of Weezing's high Defense and Poison typing, it can be switched directly into Fighting-type Pokemon such as Passimian and Scrafty to check them. Look to use Will-O-Wisp to burn threatening physical attackers such as Decidueye and Sneasel and to cripple defensive Pokemon such as Steelix and Rhydon. Be wary of letting Weezing take too much damage from special attackers such as Whimsicott and Sceptile, as Weezing's low Special Defense does not allow it to check them easily, even with investment. Additionally, Sceptile and Whimsicott can carry coverage moves such as Psychic and Hidden Power Psychic to hit Weezing for super effective damage. Taunt should be used both to prevent setup sweepers like Decidueye from setting up and to prevent utility-based Pokemon like Mega Audino and Vaporeon from using moves like Wish and Heal Bell. Weezing should use Pain Split when low on health and when it can force the opposing Pokemon out, (AC) such as when against Passimian, Steelix, and Piloswine, as this maximizes the healing Pain Split will provide. If using Toxic Spikes, Weezing should aim to set them up as early as possible if the opponent has no grounded Poison-types to absorb them.

Team Options
========

Weezing fits best on defensively oriented teams as an additional check to physical attackers. Pokemon such as Incineroar, Sneasel, and Steelix appreciate Weezing's ability to pivot into Fighting- and Ground-type Pokemon such as Passimian and Piloswine. Additionally, Incineroar and Sneasel check Ghost-types such as Rotom and Mismagius, which threaten Weezing out. Because of Weezing's lack of recovery outside of Pain Split or Black Sludge, Wish users like Mega Audino and Vaporeon make excellent partners that can also provide cleric support with Heal Bell. Additionally, Weezing possesses good defensive synergy with Mega Audino and Vaporeon, handling the Poison-types that threaten Mega Audino and checking the Grass-type Pokemon that threaten Vaporeon. Even with Special Defense investment, Weezing's low special bulk leaves it vulnerable to strong special attackers such as Heliolisk and Houndoom. Therefore, Pokemon such as Slowking, Cryogonal, and Torterra provide switch-ins to strong special attacks, and Cryogonal also appreciates Weezing's ability to pivot into Fighting-type moves. Psychic-resistant Pokemon such as Slowbro, Xatu, and Silvally-Steel cover Weezing's weakness to Psychic-type attacks; Xatu and Silvally-Steel also provide entry hazard control in the form of Magic Bounce and Defog, preventing Weezing from getting weakened by Stealth Rock. Additionally, Pursuit users such as Sneasel and Houndoom can trap Psychic-type Pokemon like Slowbro and Sigilyph. If using Toxic Spikes, Pokemon that appreciate Toxic Spikes support such as Passimian and Medicham make great partners for Weezing.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Haze can be used to clear stat boosts from Pokemon like Steelix and Klinklang. Additionally, Icium Z can be used alongside Haze to provide Weezing with a single-use full heal, but this comes at the cost of not being able to give a more threatening Pokemon such as Incineroar or Aromatisse a Z-Crystal. Destiny Bond allows Weezing to act as an emergency check to setup sweepers like Incineroar and Scrafty, but Weezing's low Speed makes this hard to pull off. Memento could be used to potentially pave the way for a teammate to set up, but Whimsicott is a much better user of Memento because of its access to Prankster. Extra coverage from moves such as Flamethrower sounds useful as a way to pose an immediate threat to Steel-types like Klinklang and Ferroseed, but dropping a utility move for an offensive move is rarely worth it.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Strong Special Attackers**: Due to Weezing's low Special Defense, even resisted hits from Pokemon like Sceptile and Whimsicott do solid damage to Weezing, while Pokemon such as Diancie, Vanilluxe, and Guzzlord threaten Weezing with strong neutral STAB moves.

**Psychic-types**: Psychic-type Pokemon such as Slowbro, Medicham, and Slowking threaten to OHKO Weezing with their Psychic-type STAB moves, though Medicham must be cautious of Will-O-Wisp. Additionally, Xatu can deflect back Will-O-Wisp, Taunt, and Toxic Spikes.

**Ghost-types**: Ghost-type Pokemon like Rotom and Mismagius come in easily on Weezing, fearing only being poisoned from Sludge Bomb, and they threaten Weezing with strong special attacks.

**Chip Damage**: Residual damage from Stealth Rock and chip damage from Pokemon like Decidueye and Passimian make it hard for Weezing to continuously check the Pokemon it wants to because of its lack of recovery outside of Pain Split or Black Sludge.

[OVERVIEW]
* Weezing differentiates itself from other defensive Poison-types in the tier with its access to Levitate, allowing it to effectively check both Fighting- and Ground-types such as Passimian, Toxicroak, and Rhydon, as well as a plethora of utility moves like Will-O-Wisp, Taunt, and Haze.
* Additionally, Weezing's mono Poison typing also allows it to check offensive Grass-types such as Whimsicott and Sceptile. Maybe replace Whimsicott for smth like Torterra, Weezing doesn't take Psychic from Specs sets well at all
* Furthermore, Weezing's high Defense in tandem with Levitate lets it serve as a viable defensive answer to common Sand sweepers such as Sandslash and Stoutland. This bullet is at high risk with the Gigalith suspect.
* Unlike Golbat, Weezing is not reliant on Eviolite to supplement its bulk, allowing it to switch in to Pokemon such as Passimian without fear of Knock Off. But.. it's often hard justifying using over Golbat because it has a source of recovery and momentum to not make it completely passive.
* Unfortunately, Weezing's lack of reliable recovery outside of Black Sludge leaves it prone to being worn down over the course of a battle, and its low Special Defense means it cannot check offensive Fairy- and Grass-type Pokemon as well as Garbodor and Golbat. I'd emphasize its poor spdef and lack of recovery in their own bullets since it really is an issue it has, often pressured by special breakers like Vanilluxe and Guzzlord.
Mention competition it faces from other poison types in specific roles like Golbat/Garbodor as defensive utility and Vileplume as a defensive poison in general.

Set Details
========

* 44 Speed EVs allow Weezing to outspeed up to base 65 Speed Pokemon, like Vaporeon. Mention specifically how you get to outspeed and taunt Vaporeon before it can use Wish/Heal Bell.
* The remaining EVS are dumped into bulk so that Weezing can check Fighting-, Ground-, and Grass-type Pokemon most effectively such as Passimian, Rhydon, and Sceptile. Specify physical bulk for the first two things you mentioned
* Black Sludge provides Weezing with a source of passive recovery.
* Alternatively, Rocky Helmet can be used to punish Pokemon such as Passimian and Scyther when they use U-Turn.
* Levitate is Weezing's only ability, which allows it to switch in to Ground-type moves and check Ground-type Pokemon such as Steelix.

* Weezing should aim to set Toxic Spikes as early as possible if the opponent has no grounded Poison-type to absorb them.
* Because of Weezing's high Defense, Weezing can be switched directly into Fighting-type Pokemon such as Passimian and Toxicroak to check them.
* Use Will-O-Wisp to spread status onto Pokemon that are not affected by Toxic Spikes, such as Toxicroak, Klinklang, and Steelix.
* Be careful of letting Weezing take too much damage from Special Attackers such as Whimsicott and Sceptile, as Weezing's low Special Defense does not allow it to check them as easily.
* Additionally, Whimsicott and Sceptile can carry coverage moves to hit Weezing for super effective damage, such as Psychic from Whimsicott or Hidden Power Psychic from Sceptile. ..HP Psychic Sceptile? I'd really just mention how it possess the power to dent Weezing with Leaf Storm with naturally high special attack.
* Taunt should be used to prevent your opponent from setting up entry hazards, but also works for preventing setup sweepers from using moves such as Swords Dance. Taunt can also win you over versus stall-ish mons like Pyukumuku.
* If using Pain Split, look to use it when Weezing can force an enemy to switch by virtue of Weezing walling them.

* Clear Smog could also be utilized in place of Haze, though this would come at the cost of dropping Sludge Bomb, a much stronger move, while also preventing Weezing from resetting the stats of Steel-type Pokemon or Pokemon behind a Substitute.
* Destiny Bond allows Weezing to potentially bring another Pokemon down with it, though Weezing's low Speed makes this hard to full off.
* Memento could be used to potentially pave the way for a teammate to setup themselves, but there are better users of Memento. Such as?
* While extra coverage from moves such as Flamethrower and Thunderbolt sounds nice, dropping a moveslot for an offensive move is not ideal. Drop Thunderbolt, it doesn't do anything for this mon. Best case-scenario you 3HKO Slowbro, which you have to 50/50 with.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Strong Special Attackers**: Due to Weezing's low Special Defense, even resisted hits from Pokemon like Whimsicott and Sceptile do solid damage to Weezing, while Pokemon such as Vanilluxe and Guzzlord threaten Weezing with strong neutral STAB coverage.

**Psychic-types**: Pokemon such as Medicham and Slowbro threaten to OHKO Weezing with their STAB Psychic moves. Mention how you can at least discourage these Pokemon from switching in directly with status. Also mention Xatu being able to deflect TSpikes and Taunt.

**Taunt**: Being mostly a utility Pokemon, Taunt mostly shuts down Weezing, potentially allowing threatening setup sweepers such as Toxicroak the chance to use their setup moves. The reader already knows that this is a utility Pokemon at this point, mention specifically how losing access to taunt and tspikes makes it hard for Weezing to do its job and also makes it setup fodder in most cases.

Put something about residual damage, a lack of recovery makes it easier to wear down than other pokemon of similar aptitude.
This is very good for the short amount of time this took to write. :blobthumbsup:

implemented most of this. kept sand mention because as long as we have sand in the tier it's relevant and I can remove it should it get banned. also kept hp psychic from sceptile as a coverage thing because imo its the best hidden power to use since you compress coverage for golbat and other poison-types into one slot

* Unlike Golbat, Weezing is not reliant on Eviolite to supplement its bulk, allowing it to switch in to Pokemon such as Passimian with less fear of Knock Off. Unsure why this is mentioned; its also competing with Garbodor, which is similarly not reliant on Eviolite. If anything note that it ain't Rock Weak like Golbat is, nor is it ground weak, letting it beat up Ground Types.
* Unfortunately, Weezing's lack of reliable recovery outside of Black Sludge leaves it prone to being worn down over the course of a battle by both entry hazards and chip damage from Pokemon such as Passimian and Sceptile.

Having used both sets, Pain Split is stronger, make it the first slash.

* Levitate is Weezing's only ability, which allows it to switch in to Ground-type moves and check Ground-type Pokemon such as Steelix.

Mention a spread with heavier special bulk, as that is notable as it lets you beat up scept while still beating up Pass. (16+def, max hp, 44 speed, rest in spdef).

This is too focused on Tspikes, when imo Pain split is just as, if not more viable.

Overview:
  • You can add Decidueye and Dhelmise to the list of Grass-types it can check now.
  • Remove Haze from the Overview since it's not on the main set (and shouldn't be).
  • Remove the line about reliable recovery, Pain Split works pretty well on Weezing and helps enough to the point that I'd consider it at least semi reliable.
  • Talk about Taunt letting Weezing terrorise defensive teams, and which mons it can shut down with it, for example Type: Null, Mega Audino, Steelix, etc.
Set:
  • Slash Helmet ahead of Black Sludge
Looks good, just sprinkle in some mentions of the new mons and get rid of outdated ones like Toxicroak. QC 2/3

just as a preface when listing pokemon they should be listed in order of viability, so maybe go over it again and just to try to look out for that

[OVERVIEW]
Weezing differentiates itself from other defensive Poison-types such as Garbodor and Golbat with its access to both Levitate, letting Weezing check Ground-types such as Steelix and Rhydon, and lack of a weakness to Stealth Rock; im kinda lost on the "lack of weakness to Stealth Rock", because the aforementioned poision-types don't have a sr weakness, unless you're trying to say its neutral damage taken from rocks makes it a more reliable fighting-check, maybe want to reword dditionally, Weezing's mono Poison typing also allows it to check both Fighting- and Grass-type Pokemon such as Passimian, Decidueye, and Sceptile. Furthermore, Weezing's access to the combination of Will-O-Wisp and Taunt lets it be effective against more defensive builds. Unfortunately, Weezing faces heavy competition for the spot of a bulky Poison from Pokemon like Vileplume and Golbat, both of which have better Special Defense, allowing them to better check specially offensive Grass-types such as Sceptile and Whimsicott, as well as access to more reliable recovery in Strength Sap or Roost.

Sludge Bomb is Weezing's STAB attack of choice, letting it deal damage to Pokemon immune to Will-O-Wisp such as Incineroar, while also possessing a 30% chance to poison. Will-O-Wisp lets Weezing burn physical attackers such as Klinklang and Dhelmise. Taunt allows Weezing to shut down opposing entry hazard setters such as Steelix and Torterra, while also preventing Pokemon like Decidueye from setting up. Furthermore, Taunt lets Weezing disrupt defensive teams, preventing Pokemon like Mega Audino, Quagsire, and Type: Null from doing their jobs. Pain Split provides Weezing with a source of recovery outside of its held item, should Weezing opt for Black Sludge, while also chipping away at Pokemon with more health than Weezing when Pain Split is used. Alternatively, Toxic Spikes helps weaken the opposing team, though Black Sludge should be the item of choice if forgoing Pain Split.

Set Details
========

44 Speed EVs allow Weezing to outspeed uninvested base 65 Speed Pokemon, specifically Vaporeon, allowing Weezing to Taunt it before it can use Wish or Heal Bell. The remaining mention that the remainder evs are hp and defense EVs with a Bold nature make Weezing as physically bulky as possible, allowing it to handle Fighting and Ground Pokemon such as Passimian and Rhydon. Alternatively, a more specially defensive spread of 252 HP / 16 Def / 196 SpD / 44 Spe with a Bold Nature lets Weezing better check specially offensive Grass-types like Sceptile and Whimsicott, while still retaining the necessary physical bulk to check Pokemon like Passimian and Dhelmise. Rocky Helmet lets Weezing punish Pokemon such as Passimian and Scyther when they use U-turn, while also chipping away at other physical attackers such as Hariyama and Decidueye whenever they use a contact move. Alternatively, Black Sludge provides Weezing with a source of recovery if Pain Split is opted against. Levitate is Weezing's only ability, and allows Weezing to switch into Ground Pokemon such as Steelix and Torterra without fear of their Ground STAB moves.

Usage Tips
========

Because of Weezing's high Defense and defensive typing, Weezing can be switched directly into Fighting-type Pokemon such as Passimian and Scrafty to check them. Use Will-O-Wisp to burn threatening physical attackers such as Sneasel and Decidueye and to cripple defensive Pokemon such as Steelix and Rhydon. Be wary of letting Weezing take too much damage from Special Attackers such as Sceptile and Whimsicott, as Weezing's low Special Defense does not allow it to check them as easily even when invested in. Additionally, Sceptile and Whimsicott can carry coverage moves to hit Weezing for super effective damage, such as Hidden Power Psychic from Sceptile and Psychic from Whimsicott. Taunt should be used to both prevent setup sweepers like Decidueye from using their setup moves and to prevent utility-based Pokemon like Vaporeon and Mega Audino from using utility moves like Wish and Heal Bell. Weezing should look to use Pain Split when low on health give some examples of mon sit can use pain split against effectively and when it can force the opposing Pokemon out, as this maximizes the healing Pain Split will provide. If using Toxic Spikes, Weezing should aim to set Toxic Spikes as early as possible if the opponent has no grounded Poison-type to absorb them.

Team Options
========

Weezing fits best on defensively-oriented teams as an additional check to physical attackers. Pokemon such as Incineroar and Steelix appreciate Weezing's ability to pivot into Fighting- and Ground-type Pokemon such as Passimian and Piloswine. this point is pretty barren, and considering weezing's ability to check fighting-types is one of its redeeming qualities this point should be expanded on, add pokemon like sneasel and cryogonal and expand on them individually, e.g roar and sneas can check pessimistic ghost-types, cryo can check special attackers, also add slowbro as checks opposing psychic-types in some cases Because of Weezing's lack of recovery outside of Pain Split or Black Sludge, Wish users like Mega Audino and Vaporeon make excellent partners, while also providing cleric support with Heal Bell. Additionally, Weezing possesses good defensive synergy with Mega Audino and Vaporeon, handling the Poisons that threaten Mega Audino while checking the Grass Pokemon that threaten Vaporeon. Even when invested in, Weezing's low Special Defense leaves it vulnerable to strong special attackers such as Heliolisk and Houndoom. Therefore, Pokemon such as Slowking and Torterra provide switch-ins to strong special attacks. Psychic-resists such as Silvally-Steel and Xatu cover Weezing's weakness to Psychic-type attacks, while also providing hazard control in the form of Defog or Magic Bounce, preventing Weezing from getting weakened by Stealth Rock. Additionally, Pursuit users such as Sneasel and Houndoom can trap Psychic Pokemon like Slowbro and Sigilyph. If using Toxic Spikes, Pokemon which appreciate Toxic Spikes support such as Passimian and Medicham make great partners for Weezing.

Haze can be used to clear stat boosts from Pokemon like Steelix and Klinklang. Additionally, an Icium Z can be used alongside Haze to provide Weezing with a single-use full heal, though this comes at the cost of not being able to give a more threatening Pokemon such as Incineroar or Aromatisse a Z-Crystal. aromatisse is fine but here but an oddly specific example, up to you if you want to keep it but could add decid or slowbro here Destiny Bond allows Weezing to act as an emergency check to setup sweepers like Scrafty and Aromatisse, though Weezing's low Speed makes this hard to pull off. Memento could be used to potentially pave the way for a teammate to set up, but Whimsicott is a much better user of Memento because of its access to Prankster. Extra coverage from moves such as Flamethrower sounds useful to pose an immediate threat to Pokemon like Klinklang and Ferroseed, though dropping a utility move for an offensive move is rarely worth it.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Strong Special Attackers**: Due to Weezing's low Special Defense, even resisted hits from Pokemon like Whimsicott and Sceptile do solid damage to Weezing, while Pokemon such as Vanilluxe and Guzzlord threaten Weezing with strong neutral STAB coverage. give some other examples here like diancie and co

**Psychic-types**: Psychic Pokemon such as Medicham and Slowbro pokemon should be listed in order of viability, so fix this accordingly, also add slowking threaten to OHKO Weezing with their STAB Psychic moves, though Medicham must be cautious of Will-O-Wisp. Additionally, Xatu can deflect back Will-O-Wisp, Taunt, and Toxic Spikes.

**Ghost-types**: Ghost Pokemon like Rotom and Mismagius come in easily on Weezing, fearing only a poison from Sludge Bomb, and threaten Weezing with strong special attacks.

**Chip Damage**: Residual damage from Stealth Rock as well as chip damage from Pokemon like Passimian and Hitmonlee hitmonlee is very very uncommon, replace with a diff mon makes it hard for Weezing to continuously check the Pokemon it wants to because of its lack of recovery outside of Pain Split or its held item.

implemented. currently have new pokemon put at the end of any lists and will update when they are ranked on the vr.

o also I kept the first sentence the same; I'm saying weezing differentiates itself from other defensive poisons from its access to BOTH levitate and no rocks weakness; golbat is weak to rocks while only vileplume doesnt have a ground weakness (not immune tho).

hey dude - this is really solid stuff. Your writing is clear and easily understandable - most edits I had to make were minor things for the sake of better flow, no real major issues otherwise. The one thing I would say that came close to being a recurring issue was commas before while - in general, I felt that you didn't need them, since you weren't contrasting information but rather were trying to provide additional, yet still important info. I can explain this further if you need, but in general my understanding is that unless you are contrasting things, you don't need the comma before while.

otherwise, yeah no real complaints. mechanics-wise, your writing is great.

[OVERVIEW]

Weezing differentiates itself from other defensive Poison-types such as Garbodor and Golbat with its access to both Levitate, letting Weezing check Ground-types such as Steelix and Rhydon, and a lack of a weakness to Stealth Rock;(RS).(AP) Additionally, Weezing's mono-Poison typing allows it to check both Fighting- and Grass-type Pokemon such as Passimian, Sceptile, and Decidueye. Furthermore, Weezing's access to the combination of Will-O-Wisp and Taunt lets it be effective against more defensive Pokemon builds "builds" is vague so I switched to Pokemon. If you meant teams, you should replace it with that instead. Unfortunately, Weezing faces heavy competition for the spot of a bulky Poison from Pokemon like Vileplume and Golbat, both of which have better Special Defense, allowing them to better check specially offensive Grass-types such as Whimsicott and Sceptile, as well as having access to more reliable recovery in Strength Sap or Roost.

Furthermore, Taunt lets Weezing disrupt defensive teams, preventing Pokemon like Mega Audino, Type: Null, and Quagsire from doing their jobs. Pain Split provides Weezing with a source of recovery outside of Black Sludge, should Weezing opt for it its held item, should Weezing opt for Black Sludge, while also chipping away at Pokemon with more health than Weezing when Pain Split is used. Alternatively, Toxic Spikes helps weaken the opposing team, though Black Sludge should be the item of choice if forgoing Pain Split.

44 Speed EVs allow Weezing to outspeed uninvested base 65 Speed Pokemon,(RC) specifically like Vaporeon, allowing Weezing to Taunt it before it can use Wish or Heal Bell. 252 HP EVs and 212 Defense EVs with a Bold nature make Weezing as physically bulky as possible, allowing it to handle Fighting and Ground Pokemon such as Passimian and Rhydon. Alternatively, a more specially defensive spread of 252 HP / 16 Def / 196 SpD / 44 Spe with a Bold Nature lets Weezing better check specially offensive Grass-types like Whimsicott and Sceptile,(RC) while still retaining the necessary physical bulk to check Pokemon like Passimian and Dhelmise. Rocky Helmet lets Weezing punish Pokemon such as Passimian and Scyther when they use U-turn,(RC) while also chipping away at other physical attackers such as Hariyama and Decidueye whenever they use a contact move. Alternatively, Black Sludge provides Weezing with a source of recovery if Pain Split is opted against. Levitate is Weezing's only ability,(RC) and allows Weezing to switch into Ground Pokemon such as Steelix and Torterra without fear of their STAB Ground STAB moves.

Usage Tips
========

Because of Weezing's high Defense and defensive Poison typing, Weezing it can be switched directly into Fighting-type Pokemon such as Passimian and Scrafty to check them. Look to use Will-O-Wisp to burn threatening physical attackers such as Sneasel and Decidueye and to cripple defensive Pokemon such as Steelix and Rhydon. Be wary of letting Weezing take too much damage from special attackers such as Whimsicott and Sceptile, as Weezing's low Special Defense does not allow it to check them as easily even when invested in. Additionally, Sceptile and Whimsicott can carry coverage moves to hit Weezing for super effective damage, such as Psychic from Whimsicott and Hidden Power Psychic from Sceptile. Taunt should be used to both prevent setup sweepers like Decidueye from using their setup moves and to prevent utility-based Pokemon like Mega Audino and Vaporeon from using utility moves like Wish and Heal Bell. Weezing should use Pain Split when low on health and when it can force the opposing Pokemon out such as when against Passimian, Steelix, and Piloswine, as this maximizes the healing Pain Split will provide. If using Toxic Spikes, Weezing should aim to set Toxic Spikes as early as possible if the opponent has no grounded Poison-type to absorb them.

Team Options

Weezing fits best on defensively-oriented teams as an additional check to physical attackers. Pokemon such as Incineroar, Sneasel and Steelix appreciate Weezing's ability to pivot into Fighting- and Ground-type Pokemon such as Passimian and Piloswine. Additionally, Incineroar and Sneasel check Ghost-types such as Rotom and Mismagius,(AC) which threaten Weezing out. Because of Weezing's lack of recovery outside of Pain Split or Black Sludge, Wish users like Mega Audino and Vaporeon make excellent partners,(RC) while also providing cleric support with Heal Bell. Therefore, Pokemon such as Slowking, Cryogonal, and Torterra provide switch-ins to strong special attacks, while Cryogonal also appreciates Weezing's ability to pivot into Fighting moves. Levitate is Weezing's only ability and allows it to switch into Ground-type moves from Pokemon such as Steelix and Torterra without fear of their Ground-type STAB moves. (you use passimian as an example three times in this section so change one)

Usage Tips
========

Be wary of letting Weezing take too much damage from special attackers such as Whimsicott and Sceptile, as Weezing's low Special Defense does not allow it to check them as easily, (AC) even with investment. Additionally, Sceptile and Whimsicott can carry coverage moves such as Psychic and Hidden Power Psychic to hit Weezing for super effective damage, (RC) such as Psychic from Whimsicott and Hidden Power Psychic from Sceptile. Taunt should be used both to prevent setup sweepers like Decidueye from using their setup moves setting up and to prevent utility-based Pokemon like Mega Audino and Vaporeon from using utility moves like Wish and Heal Bell. Weezing should use Pain Split when low on health and when it can force the opposing Pokemon out, (AC) such as when against Passimian, Steelix, and Piloswine, as this maximizes the healing Pain Split will provide. If using Toxic Spikes, Weezing should aim to set Toxic Spikes them up as early as possible if the opponent has no grounded Poison-types to absorb them.

Team Options
========

Because of Weezing's lack of recovery outside of Pain Split or Black Sludge, Wish users like Mega Audino and Vaporeon make excellent partners while also providing that can also provide cleric support with Heal Bell.

Extra coverage from moves such as Flamethrower sounds useful as a way to pose an immediate threat to Steel-types like Klinklang and Ferroseed, although but dropping a utility move for an offensive move is rarely worth it.

Checks and Counters
===================

[OVERVIEW]

Weezing differentiates itself from other defensive Poison-types such as Garbodor and Golbat with due to its access to Levitate, which lets it check Ground-types such as Steelix and Rhydon, (RC) as well as its lack of without a weakness to Stealth Rock. Additionally, Weezing's Poison typing allows it to check both Fighting- and Grass-type Pokemon such as Decidueye, Passimian, Decidueye, and Sceptile.

Moves
========

Set Details
========

44 Speed EVs allow Weezing to outspeed uninvested Vaporeon, allowing Weezing to use Taunt on it before it can use Wish or Heal Bell. 252 HP EVs and 212 Defense EVs with a Bold nature make Weezing as physically bulky as possible, allowing it to better handle Fighting- and Ground-type Pokemon such as Passimian and Rhydon. Rocky Helmet lets Weezing punish Pokemon such as Passimian and Scyther when they use U-turn while also chipping and chips away at other physical attackers such as Decidueye and Hariyama whenever they use a contact move.
