Hey Smogon,
I'm new here but not to pokemon showdown. I have been playing since late dpp and I was really glad that bw2 came with the item that forced Wobbufet and even the younger wynaut to ubers: the custap berry. Despite this, Wobbufet remained in BL causing me to try and build a team around it. so without further ado, the team.
Up close:
Wobbufet (shadow tag) @custap berry
EV's 252hp 252sdf 4def (calm nature)
Counter/mirror coat/encore/destiny bond
Ah Wobbufet. You can almost always come in for two KO's. All that you have to do is come in on any choice user (Scizor locked into bullet punch, latios in draco meteor, jolteon, terrakion, jirachi, etc) and use the appropirate reflective move. this is typically a OHKO and this often takes me down to >25% where I can get a priority destiny bond before being revenge killed, and removing two pokemon from their team. Wobbufet also works on set up sweepers such as CM latias as it can encore them allowing for a free turn of setup/SR from terrakion.
Smeargle (own tempo) @focus sash (level 1)
252spd 252hp 4def (jolly nature)
Trick room/spore/endevor/dragon rage
Yes it is a gimmick. but it is a good one. Often I can catch the other team off guard, take out politoeds, skarmorys, ferrothorn, fortress, terrakion and other common leads with exceptions being tyranatar, hippowdon and cloyster which are easily dispatched by other members of my team. the strategy is to determine if the opposing pkmn could carry priority. If no I proceed to trick room, spore, endevor then dragon rage, defeating the majority of pokemon. If they carry priority then I go straight for the spore, endevor the dragon rage. This avoids being setup bait as endevor brings all pokemon below 5% and spore puts me at 6-5 or 6-4 instantly.
Starmie (natural cure) @leftovers
252spd 252satk 4sdef (timid nature)
Rapid spin/hydro pump/ ice beam/ thunderbolt
Standard spinning starmie. typically comes in after Smeargle has taken out the lead if hazards have been placed simply to spin them away. Hydro pump over surf for power, And bolt beam coverage which is great. EV's to maximize speed and damage for more outspeeds and damage.
\terrakion (justified) @leftovers
252atk 252spd 4sdef (jolly nature)
stealth rocks/swords dance/close combat/stone edge
Sets up stealth rocks early game because they are a must have to hurt many pokemon which would otherwise destroy my team such as Volcorona. I chose this set, however, to set up rocks yet still be an offensive threat later in the game. Leftovers for longer life and EV's to maximize power and speed. nothing special.
alakazam (magic guard) @focus sash
252satk 252spd 4hp (timid nature)
psychic/shadow ball/focus blast/ HP fire
Standard alakazam. Great special attack and speed, one of the best abilities and the ability to tear teams to shreds. I love this thing. Psychic over physhock because the higher base power and the lack of chansey and blissey. Focus blast and shadow ball give me perfect coverage and HP fire is for scizor who think that they will get an easy pursuit KO. EVs are standard.
Cresselia (levitate) @leftovers
252hp 252def 4satk (Bold nature)
Ice beam/calm mind/rest/sleep talk
Cresselia is another underated pokemon in todays metagame. It is one of the only pokemon who can stand up to +1 dragons and respond with an OHKO and frustrate the opponent by CM stalling their Keldeo. this thing has saved me more battles than I care to admit. rest to be able to stay alive as this is the teams only true defensive pokemon and sleep talk to avoid being set up bait
Well thats the team. The biggest threat that I have encountered is nasty plot Celebi. Please help me improve this team!!!
