Well my team started out great, but now it needs some help.

Well my team started out great, but it needs some help.

Well I started out using this team which got me to the top 15 on the shoddy ladder, but now it loses alot more than I wanted it to. Anyways here is the team.

dpmfa437.png

Bronzong @ Lum Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP/152 Atk/8 Def/96 SDef
Relaxed nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Rest
- Hypnosis
- Stealth Rock
- Gyro Ball

Bronzong leads trys to set up rocks and put something to sleep. Enough Atk EVs to OHKO Gengar and Lum Berry so I KO even if it puts me to sleep first. Rest so that the Lum Berry won't be useless if the opponent doesn't have Gengar.

dpmfa248.png

Tyranitar (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP/200 Atk/56 SAtk/4 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Crunch
- Focus Punch
- Substitute
- Ice Beam

If Ttar gets a free substitute it can sweep teams with no counter easily. Ice Beam for Gliscor and Hippowdon. Didn't see the need to give it a nuetral SpAtk nature since Gliscor is OHKOd and 2HKOs Hippowdon with Stealth Rocks out. Sandstorm hopefully gives some Sand Veil hax for my Garchomp.

dpmfa251.png

Celebi @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 240 HP/220 Def/32 Spd/16 SAtk
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Grass Knot
- Recover
- U-Turn
- Thunder Wave

Main Gyarados counter since I saw I had problems with it.. Thunderwave is really good for crippling swicthins (usually Gengar, Infernape, Heatran ect.) I put in U-turn to break Abomasnow subs and go to something else to take the Blizzard.

dpmfa130.png

Gyarados (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 212 HP/156 Def/20 Spd/120 SDef
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Ice Fang
- Waterfall
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

Resttalking Gyarados for durability over the other kinds. It can repeatedly switch into Heatran and Heracross and Rest off the damage. Ice Fang for dragons.

dpmfa462.png

Magnezone @ Leftovers
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 92 HP/76 Def/96 Spd/244 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Magnet Rise
- Substitute
- Thunderbolt

Magnezone actually goes very good paired with Gyarados. Between the two of them they resist, or are immune to every attack in the game. Sub+Magnet Rise lets me beat Bronzongs and gets rid of all the other steels that can stop Garchomp's sweep.

Garchomp (M) @ Yache Berry
Ability: Sand Veil
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Outrage
- Swords Dance
- Fire Fang

Yeah, its the Yache SDchomp. Sets up after steels are gone hopefully and sweeps.

You have exactly the same Pokemon as someone else's team I have been playing but with different items on four of them and different moves on five!

I don't think HP Ice is too important on a leading Bronzong, I would use HP Electric, Earthquake or Explosion. HP Ice also leaves you open to enemy Magnezones (you can't predict between subs and Magnet Rise without EQ!) I suppose it would get you some kills though. I think your BOAH should have Fire Blast over Crunch since your only way to beat Skarmory is Magnezone and if it has Shed Shell then you probably won't be killing Skarmory very easily. Fire Blast would also assist with getting rid of Abomasnows. If you really want to get rid of Abomasnow you can also use U-Turn on Celebi although you would lose an Ice move which is useful so I'm not sure you should.

You could lose durability on Bronzong by giving it a Lum Berry (which works quite well against Sleeper leads) and that could handle Gengar slightly better than your team can currently!

Those are pretty much the only 'improvements' I can think of at the moment. Nice team, good luck in ST4!

You have indeed a gengar weak. Your only chance is either Gyro Ball, Thunder Wave from Celebi (who can't switch is, as Gengar does 65.59% - 77.23% to you with Shadow Ball, it doesn't even take Life Orb or Choice Specs into account.), or revengekill it with Garchomp who can resist HP Ice thanks to the Yache Berry. What you could do is use the standard uberset for Tyranitar (252HP/42Atk/216SDef) and lead with it. This way, you can get Gengar leads with Pursuit. Offcourse, you have to watch out for Hypnosis, and again you have to watch out for Focus Blast, when bringing in Tyranitar on Gengar.

RestTalkHeatran is a good Gengar counter, barring Focus Blast (again), but he can take the Hypnosis. You could replace Bronzong for him, as you have HP Ice on Celebi and RestTalkGyarados to take on Dragons.

Well a Gengar lead can cripple your team:
Bronzong: Hypnosis, then Focus blast/shadow ball
TTar: Focus Blast- OHKO, i think
Celebi: HP ice/Shadow Ball
Garchomp: HP Ice
Gyrados: Thunderbolt
Magnezone: Focus Blast

Make a Sleep talker or a though tank to counter it.

I'm not sure how important Tyranitar's moveset is, but changing to 252 HP / 42 Attack / 216 SpDef @ Choice Band will surely help with your Gengar problems. You can come into anything except Focus Blast easily and OHKO with Pursuit. Even if Gengar isn't choiced, you can still Survive a Focus Blast if needed.

I'm not sure about replacing Bronzong, as doing that could cause this team to become weak to Mamoswine, which is still used quite a bit.

Quite a coincidence.

I found HP Ice useful for Salamence leads but thats about it. Maybe I could drop it and put Ice Fang over Dragon Dance on Gyarados?

I think your BOAH should have Fire Blast over Crunch since your only way to beat Skarmory is Magnezone and if it has Shed Shell then you probably won't be killing Skarmory very easily.Fire Blast would also assist with getting rid of Abomasnows. Well Shed Shell is rare enough that I haven't had that problem ever with skarmory. I could do that if it starts getting popular again. Well I don't think that would beat Abomasnow anyways. The most popular set atm is Sub/Blizzard/Wood Hammer/Focus Punch and sometimes Leech Seed over Wood Hammer or Focus Punch. I usually have to use Magnezone or Bronzong to beat it, but neither can take repeated hits. I had U-Turn on celebi before I had HP Ice. I'll probably put Ice Fang on Gyarados then.

You could lose durability on Bronzong by giving it a Lum Berry (which works quite well against Sleeper leads) and that could handle Gengar slightly better than your team can currently!

I'll have to try that, and add enough Atk Evs to OHKO also, but as you said it loses durability and I don't have any wish support. Maybe somehow I could put rest on it so Lum berry does something even if the opponent doesn't use Gengar.

Thanks ^_^

I really don't like the idea of having a crippled ttar with 10% HP. I'll go for the Lum Berry on Bronzong and see if that works any better.

More comments would be nice to see if any of my changes make any sense.
