Update 1: Replaced Electivire for Starmie

Oh noes tl;dr

What it do Smogon? I've been lurking these forums for awhile, just looking at the teams that are around here. So I tried my shot at making my own team to use on wifi with those random level 100's I had in my boxes. PHAIL. Yes, now I know it takes more than just 100's with powerful attacks to win. Sucks have little experience with movesets, so most of them came from Smogon's analysis. So now I'm here to see what you guys think of what really is my first
thought out team with some of my favorites. And since theme teams make me giddy on the inside....

How can you not like Rick Astley's "Never Gonna give you up"? You know you like being Rick Roll'd :P

Never gonna give you up
dpmbsa094.png

Gengar @ Choice Scarf
Nature: Timid
Ability: Levitate
HP 6/ SpA 252/ Speed 252
-Thunderbolt
-Shadow Ball
-Focus Blast
-Hidden Power Ice
Like his name states, he never does. Easily one of my favorites. This guy is meant to outspeed anything in it's way and packs a punch doing it. He usually beats most leads and is able to take down two to three Pokemon before going down and I've even completely swept team who are unprepared for the chaos it brings to the battlefield. If he is kept as lead, I might switch Focus Blast for Hypnosis, due to its accuracy and there are times that I wish I could sleep an opponent, still that attack kills if it hits. I'd like to choose another lead really...sometimes I wish he lived later in game, plus he was suppose to be "Never gonna let you down".

Never gonna let you down

Gyrados @ Leftovers
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Intimidate
HP 26/ Attack 252/ Speed 232
-Dragon Dance
-Earthquake
-Waterfall
-Ice Fang
Yes, he never does, especially during late game sweeping. He's my set up physical sweeper. Sometimes, I can even sweep without Dragon Dancing. Even one expects the taunt so I usually Dragon Dance. Might give it Stone Edge for opposing Gyra's but its accuracy sucks. Hi my name is bait :D (If the other guy stays).

Never gonna run around and desert you
dpmbsa143.png

Snorlax @ Leftovers
Nature:Sassy
Ability: Thick Fat
HP 244/ Def 30/ SpD 236
-Rest
-Sleep Talk
-Return
-Fire Blast
Fuck Blissey! She's defiantly one of the favs. Usually when I take her out she stays for awhile, hence her name. She usually wins my stall wars. She's a very fun Special Wall since I annoy the hell out of people with here. Status absorber too. Fire Blast is really for Bronzong and Skarmory but I've been thinking to replace it with earthquake, since there are many times I've needed it.
Never gonna make you cry
dpmba121.png

Starmie @ Leftovers
Nature: Timid
Ability: Natural Cure
-Ice Beam
-Surf
-Rapid Spin
-Recover
Ahh my Spinner. This baby removes rocks for Gyra and friends...especially Gyra, so he can sweep without the burden of losing health when switching. Considering BoltBeam combo.
Never gonna say goodbye
dpmba448.png

Lucario @ Life Orb
Nature: Modest
Ability: Steadfast
HP 3/ SpA 252/ Speed 255
-Aura Sphere
-HP Ice
-Psychic
-Dark Pulse
Cause he is hard to get rid of if you're not prepared for him. Fav since the 8th movie. Everyone expects me to Sword Dance, but instead, their Pokemon is KOed. I like that on Special Luke and even better, they think I'm locked on one move, so that'll be even better. Psychic is mainly for Heracross. Crappy EV spread?I just wish this guy was faster...

Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you
dpmba227.png

Skarmory @ Shed Shell
Nature: Impish
Ability: Keen Eye
Hp 252/ Attack 90/ Def 156/ Speed 12
-Brave Bird
-Stealth Rock
-Whirlwind
-Roost
He isn't meant to hurt you, he's mean to set up stealth rocks and whirlwind. He does well on attacking too and hold himself well in battle, since his has roost in his arsenal. To tell the truth, I use to hate this guy but he was won be so much battles. i laff at ur boostz.

Electivire @ Expert Belt
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Motor Drive
-Thunder Punch
-Cross Chop
-Earthquake
-Ice Punch
Replaced by Starmie
This team has done well on Shoddy so far but of course, I'd like a better Pokemon for Luke but I like him... So I'd like you guys to choose one Pokemon that would benefit my team the best . I've had trouble with Calm Minding Cress when Skarm's dead and Swift Swim Floatzel. Bronzong is my most troubling lead to kill. Bronzong with Rain Dance+Floatzel...ahh.
Thanks for your time :D and sorry dial ups.

With Life Orb Lucario you might consider Close Combat for blissey and other annoyances. Use it over psychic. Aura Sphere / Dark Pulse / HP Ice / Close Combat sounds good for Life Orb

Cool and solid team with nice theme i have to say but i think special based Electivire is better in nowdays. With Stealth Rock provide by SKarmory, you can make Lucario simply all out sweeper. However, i think your team has SD Lucario weak though.

To be honest, I'd much rather add Calm Mind onto Lucario. It might get some free switches, or end up facing something like Spiritomb/Cresselia, which easily stalls it. It's quite easy to pull off a CM, especially if you're coming in on Blissey or something. You might want to go Timid as well. No point in HPIce if you can't even outspeed anything. This way, you beat out most Salamences, and Non-Scarfed Adamant Garchomps.

As for the team, I'd worried about the simplest Infernape, who seems to destroy the team. Gyarados also seems to be annoying. The best thing here is Starmie. Itll Rapid Spin the SR, which helps Gyarados come into Infernape repeatedly, and also ward it off as well as other Gyarados. The slot I'd take up is probably going to be Electivire, who rarely, rarely every sweeps, or even do much damage. =/

Choice Band Tyranitar is a problem for this team, as is Heracross, as nothing can switch in safely without good prediction. And Infernape is a really big deal. Meh so is Gengar I guess as Life Orb Gengar either 3HKO's or 2HKO's that Snorlax, and I don't think Fire Blast will do that much. To fix the first two weaknesses, I would recommend finding a Glicor on there somewhere. It could go over Skarmory, but that leaves you wide open for a Garchomp sweep. Infernape and Gengar don't really have any shared counters, and it would probably have to counter Garchomp too because of the weakness you would gain by dropping Skarmory. Starmie seems like a great choice for this team though. Switches in on most of Infernapes attacks, Gengar's Focus Blast and all non-scarfed Garchomps easily, spins away the rocks for Gyarados and also takes on your Gyarados weakness. It can go over Gengar, Electivire or Lucario, whichever you are most willing to lose. So to recap, I think that you should change the team to

Gengar/Starmie / Gyarados / Snorlax/ Electivire/Starmie / Lucario/Starmie / Gliscor

In my opinion, the mixcario sounds better to me, so yes, EVs and nature would be really helpful as I stated before.

Wow, Starmie sounds great now and seems like a great addition to take out Electivire, who is mostly a filler. Which moveset do you guys recommened for it to aid this team?

I've also debated Gliscor over Skarmory as I built this team, so I'll try Gliscor in Shoddy some time.

Well I tried out this set on Shoddy for Gliscor from the analysis
Gliscor @ Leftovers
Nature: Impish
Ability: Hyper Cutter
252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
-Earthquake
-Aerial Ace or Stone Edge
-Stealth Rock
-Roost

It was quite useful and experimented with both Aerial Ace and Stone Edge but hated when Stone Edge misses. He worked well with Gyra by taking electric attacks.
I missed phazing though. I would use taunt but taunt over AA/SE but it would leave me open to flying types and levitators.

Added Starmie to the team :D

Considering a replacement for Luke now for someone who hits on the physical side of the spectrum, any recommendations?

Finally, I'm highly considering Gliscor>Skarmory. He has done well on the battle field and rapes Hera :D. Like I said previously, I miss phazing. If it weren't for that he would be in Skarm's place.
