Were siging in the rain!

This is actually my first attempt at a weather team. In making this team, it was also the first time I used the Pokemon Sim offered by Smogon. ( Oh how I wish knew of this sooner.) It will mainly be used in Showdown (OU) and for me to use in Pokemon Black 2 for other things. (Namely subway and WiFi).

Ill be blunt, for a rain team, there really isn't a lot of water Pokemon on this team, and im fine with that. Poitoad acts as my main form of setting up weather. Toxicroak acts as my Main Bulky Physical sweeper. Jolteon, a speedy special sweeper. Ferrothorn is a secondary Bulky Physical Sweeper.Hydregion, im gonna say a mixed? Sweeper. Kabutops rounds it out as an offensive spinner. Most of the sets were taken from Smogon.

IN DEPTH

186.gif
@ Leftovers
Trait: Drizzle
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SAtk
Bold Nature
- Perish Song
- Protect
- Scald
- Toxic

Honestly, Im not a fan of Politoad or ANYOTHER of the Poli's. However I wasnt gonna look a gift horse in the mouth when I found a Female Poliwag in DW. I went for a more Defensive Set, Since the MAIN thing I want Politoad to do is set rain up. He can also force a switch with Toxic and Perish Song. Scald is so I am not Taunt bait. Protect....well thats self explanitory.
454.gif
@ Black Sludge
Trait: Dry Skin
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 244 HP / 120 Atk / 132 Def / 12 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Bulk Up
- Drain Punch
- Ice Punch
- Substitute

Oh how I love this set. I was looking for a MAIN sweeper that didnt need life orb to wreak. This set does that. Toxicroak's typing lets me switch in on many moves. Once I do and get 1-2 Bulk up's under my belt..... Bye bye other pokes! The combination of Black sludge, dry skin and Drain Punch means this guy can stay a looong time...As long as I dont do something stupid like switch him in on a spore or T-Wave....

135.gif
@ Life Orb
Trait: Volt Absorb
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Thunder
- Volt Switch
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Signal Beam

Im not a fan of the Eevelutions. I am tired of making Pokemon that rely on Life Orb. That said, while ready to make my Toxicroak, Jolteon was there as a good team mate, and this was really the only Logical set. I went with Thunder over T-Bolt since rain is Perma (bar another weather starter). Other than that, nothing else I can really say about this set, other than it works.

598.gif
@ Chesto Berry
Trait: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Brave Nature
IVs: 0 Spd
- Power Whip
- Gyro Ball
- Curse
- Rest

This set was in my VCG RMT, and I dont think people like it too much. However, I love this set. On Showdown, I find people are unprepared to handle an "offensive" Ferrothorn. As such I can usually get a few curses in, a rest and then take out a few other pokes Via Gyro Ball. I find Ferrothorn works better in my rain team.

635.gif
@ Dragon Gem
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
Modest Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Dark Pulse
- Fire Blast
- Earthquake

This is a retweak of my Hydregion from my VCG RMT. After using the using that one, I dropped Hydregion, and tried Ludicolo and Scizor. I was unimpressed. So I went back to Hydregion, with a few tweaks. I swapped out Dragon Pulse with Draco Meteor, and traded a black belt for a Dragon Gem as suggested. I was hesitant, due to the stat drop from Meteor, But since I found myself doing a lot of switching, I felt it was okay. Now seeing as I may not be able to switch, I decided to add a Physcial move, in the form of EQ. However, I kinda feel like having EQ and Fire Blast on the same set...a little redundant. Other than that, it works great!

141.gif
@ Lum Berry
Trait: Weak Armor
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Aqua Jet
- Rapid Spin
- Stone Edge
- Low Kick

The last move slot was a pain the freakin butt to figure out. I found myself having a HARD time with entry hazards. I tried Starmie, didnt like it. I tried Jellicant, didnt really work. I tried Espeon, Worked less than Jellicant! I finally stumbled across Kabutops, and I was surprised. He actually works REALLY well with my team. I tried Night slash in the last slot to take care of Spin blockers, but..didnt really work. (Hydregion tackles those guys better). I like everything about him, bar his ability. I dont like Weak Armour. I much rather swift swim, but since using swift swim makes my team "Uber", Armour it is! (Side note: When I breed for this guy, Im going for Swift Swim).

Closing note:

I am proud of this team, and am amazed how well it does. There is a synergy, that I have not felt with anything else I have done in Pokemon. Also, Ive gotten a lot of people rage quiting on me,so I must be doing something right!

THREATS:

-Other Weather teams: I think this is the same for all weather teams.

-Me and my bad predictions: Honestly I think the biggest threat to my team is me. I seem to have a hard time "predicting" when a good time to switch in my Pokemon are. This seems to be expecially true with my Toxicroak, As 9/10 times, I seem to switch him in on a status move. I think as I get better with this team, this problem will be reloved.

This team is pretty solid I must say, However, you seem pretty weak to fighting. You have 3 weaknessed and only one resist. I think you should replace Hydreigon with Latios because it add a fighting resist and it is faster and stronger than Hydreigon.

Here is the Set:

Latios (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Roost

Hope I helped

Staring at this team for a bit, it looks extremely weak to Landorus-I's special set. Nothing on the team can take a hit from Earth Power/Focus Blast, and at +2 only Kabutops can really take it down.

The above suggestion works, as Latios can easily take a hit from even Modest Lando-I, although I'd personally go Latias for greater bulk and the ability to live +2 Venu's Sludge Bomb in sun (and combat sun in general).

Other than that, to me it looks like Conkeldurr straight up threatens a majority of this team, with only Toxicroak to resist STAB; on that note, Fighting-types in general will be straining Toxicroak. The above suggestion will help this, as Scotti said.

That teams is weak to figh so I think you should try a landorus inestead of Kabutobs>

Landorus-T (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 200 HP / 64 Atk / 244 Def
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Stone Edge

Also change you Ferrothorn set to a bulky set so you can wal polited, gastrodon and other stuff>

Ferrothorn (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: (No Ability)
EVs: 252 HP / 88 Def / 168 SDef
Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Spikes
- Leech Seed
- Gyro Ball
- Power Whip

Hello, cool team you got here!

Overall it is pretty unique and solid, Curse Ferrothorn and Toxicroak are not everyday threats, and I think the team will function very smoothly if we make a couple of changes to it accordingly. My first suggestion is too switch up Hydreigon's set a little so that it functions better overall. In my opinion, Hydreigon's item should instead be a Choice Scarf instead. Although usually either Latios or Salamence is the Scarfed Dragon, I feel a resistance to Pursuit and ability to pivot and U-Turn will suffice you very well. Hydreigon's power may be reduced by a little, but overall it will still preform very well overall. In no way does Hydreigon really benefit from the movest you gave him, but this way it will be able to be very productive in revenge killing and pivoting for your team. Changing up to Choice Scarf Rash - Draco Meteor / Fire Blast / U-Turn / Superpower will give you the best effectiveness for this setup.

Finally, I want you to switch up your choice in a spinner a bit over to Tentacruel. not only will it cover up your weakness to Volcarona, but it will also help against Terrakion, Keldeo, and other fighting types. Overall, Tentacruel is an ideal spinner who is bulky and can heal on its own rather quickly. Tentacruel functions both on offensive and defensive teams, so it can easily fit in both, and Kabutops is overall almost obsolete in it's spinning abilities here in OU. Tentacruel is bulky, but does pack a punch while also having great utility.

Tentacruel @ Black Sludge
Bold Nature
252 HP / 236 Sef / 16 Spe
- Scald
- Rapid Spin
- Toxic
- Protect

Good luck!

Im gonna have to pass on the Latios and Landours-T suggestions. I would prefer not to have to frig with trying to get a half dencent Legend. ( I also have no means to get Landours-T in my game, as since i would also like to use this in my game).

@PDC- TENTACRUEL! I didnt even think about him. I did give Tentacruel (with rain dish) a try before responding, and I have to say, he does work extremely well. I was wondering though, is there an item that I could use over Black Sludge, as my Toxicroak is already holding one?

I did try out your Hydregion set. It works and I really like it..But im not liking being locked into a move, which is why I ten to avoid Choice sets.
