* Urshifu-R is the formats premier physical attacker, and much of the meta is warped around this Pokemon. This due to the difficulty of defensively positioning around Urshifu-R as it can hit through Protect, ignore Intimidate with Surging Strikes, and has a good offensive typing. Among its strong matchups are Incineroar, Chi-Yu and both Ursaluna formes.

* Urshifu-R has an incredible partnership with Tornadus, as opposing teams cannot stall Tailwind turns with Protect in front of Urshifu-R. Tailwind also flips Urshifu-R's matchup into Flutter Mane. Bleakwind Storm can remove the Grass-types that check Urshifu-R, most importantly Rillaboom, the Ogerpon formes and Amoonguss. Tornadus can also boost Urshifu-R's damage output with Rain Dance. Urshifu-R also specifically appreciates Pokemon with Fake Out, such as Rillaboom and Incineroar, due to the pins Fake Out + Unseen Fist can create.

It has strong across the board stats, with a very high attack stat, and solid speed and bulk. (the only thing i have about this section is maybe mentioning specific pokemon?)

* Urshifu-R has an incredible partnership with Tornadus. Urshifu-R is an especially good abuser of Tailwind as it outspeeds every non-speed-boosted Pokemon in the format (i dont think this is specific to urshifu... i would just cut this and immediately cut to the stalling stuff), and opposing teams cannot stall Tailwind turns with Protect infront of Urshifu-R. Bleakwind Storm can remove the grass types Grass-types that check Urshifu-R, most importantly Rillaboom, the Ogerpons Ogerpon formes, and Amoonguss. Tornadus can also support its boost Urshifu-R's damage output with Rain Dance. * Aqua Jet is used to give Urshifu-R access to priority. (already explained above) Taunt is sometimes used over Aqua Jet in order to shut down threats like Amoonguss, (RC) and prevent Trick Room.

* The presence of Focus Sash allows for Urshifu to simply maximise maximize it's attack Attack and speed Speed, as no defensive calculations are needed. (this feels like unnecessary fluff)

* Tera Stellar may be used instead of Tera Water to give Urshifu-R a damage boost to Close Combat, on top of the damage boost that both give to Surging Strikes or Aqua Jet. Tera Stellar does however prevent from multiple Water-type moves from being boosted. These boosts can allow for Urshifu-R to OHKO threats such as Chien Pao with Surging Strikes, as well as no bulk Ogerpons with Surging Strikes or Close Combat respectively.

* Urshifu-R is the formats premier physical attacker, and much of the meta is warped around this Pokemon. This due to the difficulty of defensively positioning around Urshifu-R as it can hit through Protect and ignore Intimidate with Surging Strikes. Water- and Fighting-type STAB are both highly valuable. Few Pokemon resist both, and they hit many valuable types, such as Fire, Normal, Ground and Steel. It has strong across the board stats, with a very high attack stat, and solid speed and bulk. (read comments from first qc)

* Urshifu-R has an incredible partnership with Tornadus, as opposing teams cannot stall Tailwind turns with Protect in front of it Urshifu-R. Bleakwind Storm can remove the Grass-types that check Urshifu-R, most importantly Rillaboom, the Ogerpon formes and Amoonguss. Tornadus can also boost Urshifu-R's damage output with Rain Dance. Urshifu-R also specifically appreciates Pokemon with Fake Out, such as Rillaboom and Incineroar, due to the pins Fake Out + Unseen Fist can create. Urshifu-R often sees play as the Water-type of the 'Fire-Water-Grass' core many teams build around.

[OVERVIEW]

* Urshifu-R is the formats premier physical attacker, and much of the meta is warped around this Pokemon. This due to the difficulty of defensively positioning around Urshifu-R as it can hit through Protect and ignore Intimidate with Surging Strikes. Water- and Fighting-type STAB are both highly valuable. Few Pokemon resist both, and they hit many valuable types, such as Fire, Normal, Ground and Steel. Urshifu-R's offensive typing is very difficult to wall... (and because of that...?) It has strong across the board stats, with a very high attack stat, and solid speed and bulk. (dex info) Among its strong matchups are Incineroar, Chi-Yu and both Ursaluna formes.

* Urshifu-R has an incredible partnership with Tornadus, as opposing teams cannot stall Tailwind turns with Protect in front of Urshifu-R. (worth explaining here that setting up tailwind allows ursh to flip its flutter mu) Bleakwind Storm can remove the Grass-types that check Urshifu-R, most importantly Rillaboom, the Ogerpon formes and Amoonguss. * Focus Sash allows for Urshifu to simply maximize it's Attack and Speed.

* Tera Stellar may be used instead of Tera Water to give Urshifu-R a damage boost to Close Combat, on top of the damage boost that both give to Surging Strikes or Aqua Jet, allowing Urshifu-R to OHKO non-bulky Ogerpon-W. Tera Stellar does however prevent from multiple Water-type moves from being boosted. These boosts can allow for Urshifu-R to OHKO threats such as Chien Pao with Surging Strikes, as well as no bulk Ogerpon-C and Ogerpon-H with Surging Strikes.

[OVERVIEW]

* Urshifu-R is the formats format's premier physical attacker, and much of the meta is warped around this Pokemon. This is due to the difficulty of defensively positioning around Urshifu-R, (AC) as it can hit through Protect, ignore Intimidate with Surging Strikes, and has a good offensive typing. Among its strong matchups are Incineroar, Chi-Yu, (AC) and both Ursaluna formes.

* Urshifu-R has an incredible partnership with Tornadus, as opposing teams cannot stall Tailwind turns with Protect in front of Urshifu-R. Tailwind also flips Urshifu-R's matchup into Flutter Mane. Bleakwind Storm can remove the Grass-types that check Urshifu-R, most importantly Rillaboom, the Ogerpon formes, (AC) and Amoonguss. Tornadus can also boost Urshifu-R's damage output with Rain Dance. Additionally, (AC) Urshifu-R also specifically appreciates Pokemon with Fake Out, such as Rillaboom and Incineroar, due to the pins positions that Fake Out + Unseen Fist can create.

* Amoonguss is Urshifu-R's hardest check, as it can redirect and resisting resist both of Urshifu-R's STABs STAB moves, deal damage back with Rocky Helmet or Sludge Bomb, or and put Urshifu-R to sleep with Spore. Raging Bolt is also a big Urshifu check, as it can OHKO Urshifu-R with item-boosted Thunderclap and a boosting item, and resists both Surging Strikes and Tornadus' Tornadus's Bleakwind Storm. The Ogerpon formes outspeed and threaten to OHKO Urshifu-R with Wood Hammer, while Flutter Mane outspeeds and threatens to OHKO with Moonblast. Rillaboom and Farigiraf also trade damage positively into Urshifu-R, as they cam can take an attack (RC) and OHKO back with Wood Hammer and Psychic, (AC) respectively.

* Boosting Urshifu-R's damages damage allows it to pick up KOs it couldn't do otherwise, such as Chien-Pao, no bulk Ogerpon no-bulk Ogerpon-H, Ogerpon-C is the Ogerpon-C also bulkless? if so, do "no-bulk Ogerpon-H and Ogerpon-C,", (AC) Hearthflame and Ogerpon Cornerstone and other Pokemon defensively trained to survive Urshifu-R's non boosted non-boosted attacks, such as Sitrus Berry or physically bulky Incineroar, with Surging Strikes.

* Aqua Jet gives Urshifu-R access to priority, (AC) which allows it to pick off low HP foes.

* Life Orb allows Urshifu-R to OHKO Archaludon and non-bulky Ogerpon-W (RC) Archaludon while the boost to Surging Stikes gives you rolls on. (AP) It also boosts Surging Strikes's damage rolls, allowing it to KO Pokemon defensively trained to survive Mystic Water Surging Strikes, such as Bold Flutter Mane, defense invested Defense-invested Chien-Pao, (AC) and Ogerpon-H, although though this comes at the cost of harming Urshifu-R's longevity.

* The Attack investment allows for Urshifu-R to OHKO Chien-Pao with Surging Strikes. The allocated bulk allows Urshifu-R to live survive a Thunderclap from most Assault Vest Raging Bolt, live an Earth Power from most Landorus, and live or a Terrain Boosted Terrain-boosted Grassy Glide from Ogerpon-H. The Speed investment allows Urshifu-R to outspeed Modest Regidrago and Adamant Dragonite.

* Tera Water is strong both defensively and offensively, allowing Urshifu-R to remove its Fighting-type to survive moves such as Flutter Mane's Moonblast or and Tornadus's Bleakwind Storm. A The boost to Surging Strikes can allow Urshifu-R to KO Pokemon it otherwise couldn't, such as Bold Flutter Mane and bulky Ogerpon-H spreads. Tera Steel allows Urshifu-R to flip its matchup into against Farigiraf, Flutter Mane, (AC) and Rillaboom. The Normal-type resistance is also useful against Extreme Speed Dragonite and can be used in a pinch against both Ursaluna fomes formes. Tera Fire has some similar properties to Tera Steel, but can also flip your match up into Urshifu-R's matchup against Ogerpon-H and give you an immmunity it an immunity to burn at the cost of losing resistances to opposing Urshifu-R. Doesn't it only lose one? The Water resistance?

* U-turn allows Urshifu-R to reposition in front of threats like Rillaboom, while Aqua Jet can pick of off threats on low HP. Ice Spinner can remove the Terrain of Rillaboom and Indeedee-F, as well as threaten non-Multiscale Dragonite without Multiscale with an OHKO.

* The Speed investment allows for Urshifu-R to out-speed outspeed Chien-Pao, while the Attack investment will lets it OHKO no bulk no-bulk Ogerpon-H and Ogerpon-C with Tera Water Surging Strikes. The allocated bulk allows enables Urshifu-R to live survive a Thunderclap from most nearly all unboosted Raging Bolt, live an Earth Power from most Landorus, and live or a Terrain Boosted Terrain-boosted Grassy Glide from Ogerpon-H.

* Tera Water allows for provides a damage boost,(RC) which allows for that allows Urshifu-R to OHKO threats such as Chien-Pao and no bulk no-bulk Ogerpon-H and Ogepon-C Ogerpon-C with Surging Strikes.
