What are the odds?
Probably's OU RMT

Hello everybody, and thank you for looking at my team. Well, the backround behind this team is interesting. I stopped playing OU for a long time. I figured I wasn't very good, and I still don't think I'm great. I joined a random OU tourney with a team I used a few months ago. I came in 3rd and thought to myself, maybe I could do better. After a few trials, I came about with this team. It's got a pretty large winning ratio, and I'm proud of it. Hope you enjoy looking over it ^.^

At a glance

Spr_4h_068.png

Machamp is a pretty solid lead. Not a lot of leads can beat it. I know it's not a good idea to start out by choosing a lead, but eh, it works.

Spr_5b_248.png

Tyranitar covers the problems Machamp has, such as Azelf and Starmie. He gets plenty of revenge kills otherwise too, and his Sandstream helps the team.

Gliscor is nothing to mess with. He walls shit to Hell and back, stalls in sandstorm, and is fast enough to force Heatran out. Gliscor is probably my favorite Pokemon on this team. Also helps with Machamp's Metagross problem, if Heatran would go down for some reason.

I needed something to stop other Heatran leads and lay down Stealth Rocks. Heatran is my man here. Overheat hurts anything coming in to attempt to force it out. He's so sexy...

Celebi helps cover my Water weakness. 1HKO's a lot of things with Leaf Storm, can cripple things coming in with Thunder Wave, shrugs off damage with Recover, why wouldn't I use Celebi?

Starmie is a favorite of mine. I needed a spinner, so why wouldn't I choose Starmie? Starmie also helps with my Gyarados weakness, and can come in on and Heatran and shrug off the damage.

170px-068Machamp.png

LOLWUT (Machamp) (F) @ Lum Berry
Ability: No Guard
EVs: 240 HP/244 Atk/10 Spd/16 SDef
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Dynamicpunch
- Payback
- Bullet Punch
- Stone Edge

Pretty much the standard Machamp. Dynamic Punch is a bitch, 150 damage and a 100% chance to confuse. That's gonna wreck shit. Payback for Gengar and Rotom's that decide to come in. Bullet Punch for them Sashers, and Stone Edge for Dragonite, Aerodactyl, and Gyarados. Very sexy lead.

Azelf - Switch to Tyranitar
Machamp - Stay in and Dynamic Punch, if I lose go to Heatran
Metagross - Go to Heatran, set up Rocks
Swampert - Dynamic Punch spam
Infernape - Dynamic Punch
Heatran - Go to my Heatran, Earth Power or set up Rocks
Jirachi - Go to Heatran
Ninjask - Stone Edge spam, nothing's gonna sweep my team without attack boosts
Roserade - Stone Edge or Dynamic Punch
Hippowdon - Dynamic Punch
Starmie - Starmie can be annoying, usually I go to T-Tar and Crunch
Uxie - T-tar and Pursuit

155px-248Tyranitar.png

iRossy (Tyranitar) (F) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 6 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Crunch
- Stone Edge
- Pursuit
- Superpower

Named her iRossy because iRossy is a boss, and so is this Tyranitar. Choice Scarf'd so it outspeeds Starmie. Crunch is a basic STAB move, and when I predict they'll stay in, they're getting hit hard. Stone EdgeTakes shit down. 150 hitting move with a high Critical Hit ratio, I love the shit. Pursuit revenge kills Rotom, Starmie, Azelf, and plenty of Pokemon that are low on HP. Superpower hits Blissey hard. I might replace Super power with something else.

200px-472Gliscor.png

HAX ALL DAY (Gliscor) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Veil
EVs: 252 HP/6 Def/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Roost
- Toxic
- Taunt

As you could guess, HAX ALL DAY gets plenty of hax on his side. After Sandstream gets up, this bitch isn't going down easy. The EV Spread is simple, max speed while having plenty of HP to take hits. Earthquake so I have a decently hard hitting move. Roost can make Gliscor impossible to kill, and is an obvious choice. I use Toxic, but I don't know if I'll stick with it, I feel as though Ice Fang might replace that spot. Taunt is an obvious choice, shuts down set-ups before they can set up.

230px-485Heatran.png

Freezy (Heatran) (M) @ Shuca Berry
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 6 Atk/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Naive nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Overheat
- Earth Power
- Explosion
- Stealth Rock

Heatran was an easy choice for me to make. Not a lot of things like coming in and taking an Overheat right off the bat. Max speed so I can outspeed other Heatran. I don't know if I'll be keeping the Naive nature, I might switch to HP Ice, make it Timid, and ditch Explosion. Anyways, Overheat is used over Fire Blast for better accuracy and because I don't plan on staying in that long, so I can take the special drop and run. If I switch to HP Ice though, I'll make it Fire Blast. Earth Power for other Heatran. I currently use Explosion so I can damage Suicune and Blissey a lot. I might switch to HP Ice because this team lacks Ice moves. Stealth Rock is used on Heatran because I need rocks, and he gets the perfect opportunities to get them up. I think I might change the name from Freezy, I put that name on him as a joke, but he appears to get frozen more often than anybody else on my team...

200px-251Celebi.png

The Fuck (Celebi) @ Life Orb
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 6 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Leaf Storm
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Thunder Wave
- Recover

Celebi is one of my new favorites, especially this set. Life Orb and max SAtk makes Leaf Storm hit anything not named Heatran or Dragonite pretty hard. Hidden Power Fire for Scizor, as whenever they come in they want to U-Turn, and I get the KO. Thunder Wave when I expect Heatran or Dragonite. Recover to shrug off Life Orb and other damage. I named it "The Fuck" because so many people get caught off guard by this beast.

170px-121Starmie.png

DDDDDDDDDDDD (Starmie) @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP/252 Spd/6 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Surf
- Thunderbolt
- Rapid Spin
- Recover

Creative name for such a creative set. Max HP and Speed to be Bulky and fast. Surf for STAB, Thunderbolt to take care of other water Pokemon, mainly Gyarados. Rapid Spin is the reason I chose Starmie in the first place, as I felt as though I needed a spinner for this team. Recover so I can shrug off damage from Heatran and Gyarados and whoever else I take damage from.

Well, thank you for reading through this team. Please comment, I could use some help. I've only gotten up to 1579 CRE on Team Uber's ladder with this, so I feel pretty confident it could be better.

286.gif
Breloom:
I let it put something to sleep, then can switch to Celebi or Gliscor and take it on.

I need some help with this one. I honestly can only lock it into Outrage and Explode on it with Heatran. This is a major threat to the team...

051.gif
Dugtrio:
Duggy can't do anything to this team, the only KO it'll get is Heatran and maybe T-Tar if I'm stuck in Pursuit.

466.gif
Electivire:
If Celebi's gone, I go into Machamp. If they're both gone, I'm probably screwed. I've only seen one of these, and it's swept me. I feel lame saying that...

330.gif
Flygon:
Can be annoying. Gliscor takes it nicely, and Starmie can do some damage, but other then that it's annoying.

475.gif
Gallade:
If it's a lead it's gonna Zen Headbutt, and I go to Celebi for the KO. Celebi basically covers it, and T-Tar can take it if it' weakened.

094.gif
Gengar:
Gengar gets old. I usually lose somebody if Machamp is gone. Tyranitar can reverge kill it.

130.gif
Gyarados:
As I said earlier, not a problem. Celebi and Starmie own it.

485.gif
Heatran:
Starmie, Gliscor, my own Heatran, Tyranitar, and sometimes Machamp can take it. Not a problem at all.

214.gif
Heracross:
Gliscor laughs at it. Machamp can take it sometimes. Heatran can if it's locked into a move.

392.gif
Infernape:
Starmie is the first to come in. Gliscor can handle it as long as it doesn't have HP Ice. T-Tar can revenge kill it.

135.gif
Jolteon:
Gliscor laughs at it as long as it's not HP Ice, and heatran can take a Thunderbolt.

230.gif
Kingdra: Celebi 1HKO's it. Machamp can come in. If it's locked into Outrage I can explode.

448.gif
Lucario:
Gliscor all day baby. Starmie can take it after a CC. Celebi can outspeed and HP Fire or Thunder Wave. Tyranitar revenge kills.

Zapdos:
Tyranitar and Heatran. Not an issue.

Solid team overall. Some of the threats you have outlined (DD Dragonite especially) can be troublesome, but you can fortunately decrease your chances of getting swept by giving your opponents as few opportunities to set up as possible. One potential change that may prove beneficial to your team would be to replace your Starmie with an Offensive Suicune. Starmie's main advantage over Suicune is its access to Rapid Spin, but since you're not utilizing this move, Suicune is likely the better choice due to its higher bulk and similar type coverage. One other helpful advantage that Suicune possesses is its access to Ice Beam; with this move, you'll be able to outspeed and OHKO opposing Dragonite before they set up, which will slightly alleviate your Dragonite weakness. Anyway, this is the set I was thinking of:

[box]
245_30_0.png

Suicune @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature (+Spe, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Surf / Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam
- Hidden Power Electric
[/box]
This Suicune set is a great fit on offensive teams such as this one, as it provides you with a very bulky switch-in to Fire attacks, as well as a threatening sweeper with access to Calm Mind. Suicune's natural bulk is further emphasized after a Calm Mind boost or two, allowing it to take even some super effective moves (such as LO Starmie's Thunderbolt) and survive to retaliate. I slashed Surf as the primary option for Suicune's STAB attack due to its perfect accuracy, but I also really like Hydro Pump for its outstanding base power. Ice Beam and HP Electric round out Suicune's type coverage by giving it the very effective combination of Water / Ice / Electric, which can hit every member of FWG cores for heavy damage. Suicune also is bulky enough to check DD Gyarados and some variants of Dragonite without much of a problem; both threats will be KO'd by either Ice Beam or HP Electric, respectively.

Good luck!

Interesting team :) which is a very nice change

Anyway, the problem I have with it isn't so much the Dragonite problem (plus a couple of other pokemon, but nothing so significant), as the fact that an offensive Suicune can completely run through you if you lose Celebi; you have no other way, assuming Machamp's gone, of dealing with water types. Unfortunately Celebi is weak to both Pursuit and U-turn.

Strangely enough, I can also see certain variants of Zapdos basically screwing over your team. The one I'm thinking of in particular is SubRoost Zapdos, which basically just stalls all day long combined with Toxic. It actually kinda easily beats your Tyranitar, since you only have 4 turns to use Stone Edge due to Pressure, and Crunch can't get past Roost and accumulative Toxic damage. Heatran's loses in almost the same way; after you break the Sub with Overheat you're only managin 40% damage or worse and it goes down hill from there. Meanwhile, it can easily beat everything bar Gliscor, which it can also beat if it hits it with Toxic first.

What I just don't get, and would help if you could post, is the overall strategy and direction of the team. I mean, there's no flavour to it and I have trouble seeing how you win matches except by just smart switching and prediction combined with some power and annoyance. This is often enough to win, sure, but it also leaves you very vulnerable to opposing strategies.
